Ian would have made a wonderful Dumbledore! I find Gandalf and Dumbledore rather similar in more than one respect, and I do believe Rowling was not very original with her description and portrayal of the character, unfortunately. And I know that Richard died, why else would they have cast another? I just think they could have picked a better-suited man for the job. For instance, in the Goblet of Fire, what the hell...? Dumbledore in the book was calm and collected, and simply asked Harry if he put his name in. However, the movie portrayed Dumbledore as being absolutely furious about the whole situation.

singlikenoonecanhearyou

This goes for both Sing and Telly; yes Voldemort flipped when he found out about the Hufflepuff cup but I do not think he was fully aware of the situation at hand. He kept Nagini close, but there were, if you recall, a few horcruxes he did not check.

Also, although the dancing was cheesy I must also agree with Telly in the sense that it showed Harry really was only a friend to Hermione, but a very good friend.

Well there have been other recast's that didn't deal with the actor dieing, so some people could have thought they just recast him because the previous actor didn't want the part anymore or they were busy with another project, it happens. For example the actor who played Roads in Ironman 1 he was recast b/c the actor from the 1st movie wanted more money, but the studio didn't want to pay him more, so Road/War machine had to be recast.

But I do have to agree with you on the GOF scene, that was a little much. He was like BAWWWWW!

Also he went to check all his Horcruxes, after learning that the cup was gone, if I remember right he knew? that the Diary was gone. So that just leaves the ring and the locket which he went to check on, he kept Nagini close so that covered another one. the only one he didn't actively search out was the Diadem in the Room of Requirement b/c he didn't belive Harry knew about the room.

Nope, he was unaware of the diary, I am almost positive.

That was the only one I wasn't sure about. I remember them mentioning the Diary in Deathly Hallows other than it was one of the Horcruxes that the gang had destroyed. I could have sworn that Voldy learned that the diary was gone at some point, I'll have to re-read the book again. I've been working on re-reading the set again, I just started GOF last night. So I'll eventually get back to Deathly Hallows again and find out.

Ah, sounds like fun. See, I would love to re-read the series, but to be honest, I cannot deal with the Order of the Phoenix. Umbridge irks me to the degree that I do not watch the movie or read the book more than absolutely necesary. Which is alot.

Umbridge makes my eye twitch. I swear I have not hated a fictional character more that I hate that woman. And the actress who play's her in the movie, I don't think they could have picked a better person, she truly makes me hate the character even more. I can not tell you how much I get excited when Harry attacks her in Deathly Hallows.

I completely agree with you! I have never hated a fictional character as much as I hate her.

I was reading an interview with the director of that movie and he said that when he learned of that character she was the person he thought of. She wasn't sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult. I would take it as an insult.

Oh I know! She makes a perfect mad woman, she is brilliant. I also liked Timothy Spall as Pettigrew and Alan Rickman as Severus. I must say, whoever cast those people was a genius and obviously knew what they were doing.

I know, she's like a made puddle at times with that hair of hers. And I agree whole heartily with Wormtail and Snape excellent picks. I really like Gary Oldman as Sirius as well. Well I just like Gary Oldman in general so maybe I'm biased in that regard. lol

I did indeed, Ralph Fiennes knows how to play the "evil" guy. Not to mention he really gets into the character just like Ian did for Gandalf.

Agreed. I think my only problem with Voldy is that he did not have red irises or slit pupils like he did in the books. I think even just slit pupils could have really added to his whole evil look, but other than that he was very well done in makeup.

He might have had the same contact problem that Daniel had, so that could be why they didn't go with the slit pupils and red irises. I could be wrong, or it could have been from the device's he had to wear on his face to remove his nose and change others parts of his face to make him look less human.

What problems did Daniel have with contacts? Because I always wondered why they didn't just buy a pair and slap 'em in his eyes. I mean, it isn't like they are the most expensive thing on that set.

Blac Magik

Well even if you are biased I completely agree with you. Gary Oldman was definitely an excellent pick. What about Voldemort though? Did you like his casting?

I believe it was because his eyes were oversensitive or something and the contacts that they planned to use irritated his eyes too much for him to wear them. This was taken from an interview Daniel gave to veritaserum.com "I don't have green eyes, like Harry's, so I tried to wear green contacts, but they were so irritating that I stopped. Computer animation painted my eyes green during post-production." I guess it cost too much or they didn't bother to keep up with the computer animated painted eyes for the remaining movies. Apparently Daniel has green eyes during parts of Sorcerers Stone.
