The Lacustrine blue wasn't so slow when he put his mind to it, really. The more people shifted and turned and reached out to him, the more determined he seem to get... he didn't swipe at anyone, but he wasn't stopping either, not when he had apparently found something to be intent on.
The Alpine blue, too, seemed to have heard, or seen, His and was slipping through the girls' ranks a little awkwardly. Some poor Candidate tried to get out his way and knocked against one of the droopy wings, making him snarl in pain and lash out in reflex. With a good clawing to the leg, the girl spun away, caught by her friends as the blue watched her then continued on.
Activity in the clutch once more, brought attention back to the remaining five eggs. It seemed the eggs liked to pop in pairs this time around, the Prarie first cracked then crumbled to reveal dark green quickly followed by the Taiga to reveal another smartly patterned green. The Prairie toddled forward, intent on the boys and the Taiga rumbled at her, eyes whirling orange for a moment before lifting her head high and practically walking through the Prairie on the way to the girls, knocking her over.

More greens! Tairoth crooned, extending the tips of his wings closer to the sands, as if that would spur them on to greatness. Look, Marcy, Greens!
"I see them, Tairoth." M'cel shook his head and caressed Tairoth's hide. Impress, little dragons! The world was before you!

"More greens!" Good, Moriath crooned at the newly hatched beauties, the males had begun to bore her. "I hope that these look to females," she added, "but better they take a male than go between because there isn't a woman with the right mind out there for them."
Quite so. After the loss of the brown the very last thing Kleos wanted to see was more deaths. Nibbling at an already ragged nail, the young rider waited with baited breath. Let them find Theirs, and without major bloodshed if possible.

Wykla kept an eye on the two blues. Moving politely out of the way if they came her direction. She saw a girl stumble and heard the blue snarl. A wince of sympathy crossed her face for the girl. She knew how it felt to be there.
With the blues actively searching, two more eggs picked now to shatter. It was two more greens. She gave a sigh as the Prairie egg toddled off towards the boys. Oh well, they did seem to like boys this time. But wait! Was one of the greens coming this way.
Wykla gasped as the second green ran over her sister and knocked her down. Oh, I hope she didn't get hurt. It was all she could do. That and watch for the irritated green so she wouldn't be the next one knocked down.

Zeren winced as a girl got clawed by the large winged Blues, he hoped that she wasn't too badly hurt. He watched as a couple more greens hatched, he had to smile as one moved towards the boys, he almost held his breath, hoping that His was coming, but he breathed the eggs were hatching and each time they Impressed was one dragon less for his chances of Impression.

Andeon had been standing patiently, with non of his usual antics to risk his place there on the Sands. While he may have been making eyes at Inaari half the time and may or may not have previously attempted to bribe Ianath for a dragonet, he was more or less on his best behavior. After all, this was a special clutch, sired by one of Benden's bronzes in a Weyr fully accepting of the atypical colors. Who knew what might happen?
Every hatchling had Andeon holding his breath, and every Impression had him releasing it in a heavy disappointed sigh. One by one, until he was intently watching the two greens on the sands and the few eggs remaining.

Almost dropping as the blue shoved its way into the midst of the girls, Ashmere watched as one of the girls was clawed. That one would need to see a Healer as soon as the rest of the eggs decided to hatch. Shaking her head the slim built woman staggered a bit before straighten herself completely and smoothing her robes, there was sand on her hands, she felt herself fidget and nervously trembled while beginning to wring her hands together. There was sand under her nails which made her gnash her teeth together irritably.
The loud pop of two more eggs caused the harper to drop her hands at her sides and refocus on the little dragonets. It was two greens, both lovely and shiny, one set on the boys and the other seemingly headed towards the girls.
One of the lovely greens was the one that she had adored and cried over during the touching, and she was headed towards the boys. "I see..." she whispered softly and took a few steps backwards as if she had been slapped in the face by an unseen force.

Safira gasped and held her hand to her mouth as one of the Blues clawed a girl. She seemed to be okay, though, her friends were there to take care of her. More hatching sounds coming from the Sands and Safira was torn between watching the Blues choose Theirs and watching the Greens as they broke their shells. As the Prairie and Taiga hatchlings started for the Candidates, Safira found herself staring. One was heading for the boys, as it seemed the majority of the Greens were, but the other was heading for the girls this time! The poor Taiga was knocked over by her sister in her eagerness to find Hers. Safira couldn't stifle a small giggle at the sight, though she felt a ping of sympathy for Taiga.

Finally, finally, the Alpine blue found His and turned towards her, wings flaring in jubilation and flapping a few times as whirling blue eyes met hers, Come with your Kameth, Wyklamine, we will touch the sky.His brother too had found His in the happiness and enthusiasm of one Adine. Bunting his nose up against her, eyes whirling with hunger and happiness, he managed to lay back down at her feet while still maintaining contact to his head. Adimine, your Mazamath is here now. Feed me?Meanwhile, the little Prarie green churred at her sister with a look of confusion before she padded onwards towards the boys. The Taiga, however, growled back at her, almost as if chastising her for being, well, green... and picking boys. Such a lemming! Head held high, she was all but parading over to the girls.

Zeren was relieved when the two blues Impressed, that was two less to potentially go Between he didn't think he could bear the sorrow of another, but he took a deep breath and tried to focus his thoughts, while he didn't want to possibly influence the green now moving among the boys, he couldn't help but think to himself "pleaseplease you're so lovely, be mine or if you're not, please find Yours quickly" he chanted to himself, his fists clenched and he hoped that Kazvar didn't see his desperateness. Wait.. was one of the new blueriders that girl who had helped him find Viska that time? He was pleased for her, she deserved a Dragon.

Ashmere's eyes widened in shock her little friend Wykla had Impressed, she felt a sudden surge of joy for the much younger girl. There had been another girl to Impress as well she noted but the overwhelming pride for her new found friend caused her to focus mainly on the now Blue Rider Wykla.
"Way to go, my little Wykla!" Ashmere called with mirth and joy, shaking her head the little harper just grinned at the girl.
'Wonderful Wykla, I am so happy that Yours found you.'

Come with your Kameth, Wyklamine, we will touch the sky.
For an instant, Wykla froze. Blue. Blue eyes, gorgeous blue body. Kameth. She gave a squeal and ran over to him. "Kameth, you're beautiful!" Her arms threw themselves around his neck as several happy tears trickled down her cheeks.
The dragonet half closed his eyes and seemed to sigh. Did she have to get all soppy? Mine, I am very hungry.
"Oh yes! Of course. Let's get you fed." She let go of Kameth and put a hand on his shoulder. As they started to walk towards the tables, Wykla flashed a big happy grin at Ashmere, Mercy, and the other candidates she knew.

"Ha!" Rene had been watching the hatching as she fed poor Gemgareth, and pumped a free hand in the air. That Adi had Impressed, huh? And a blue too! That was good! Adi had been acceptable, cheerful and not at all like the weyrbrat she was expecting.
Mine, I am so hungry-
"Then eat, I'm offerin' ya food. I kin watch and feed you. I'm good at multi tasking." Rene said, unconcerned of his unhappiness at the time. "Botha yer brothers impressed. Looks like they were waitin' fer you."
They love me. Mazamath! Kameth! Come over here!

Andeon couldn't suppress a laugh at the antics of the green sisters. One headed for the boys, and Andeon found himself holding his breath in anticipation. The two blues had just Impressed, dimming the young would-be rider's chances even further. He was only sixteen, which meant there were still turns to stand. Still chances to be had, but Andeon was not looking at the glass as half full that day. He didn't want anymore kitchen assignments or stable duties. He was ready. Shards, but he had been born ready.
“Come on, ladies,” Andeon murmured, actually going so far as to wink at the Prarie green, “Step right up.”
Andeon's ego, it would seem, never slept.

Kameth turned his head towards his fellow blue. I see you Gemgareth, we are coming. Mine come long, Gemgareth wants us. His wings left twin trails in the sand as he padded toward the other blue. Once at the table he sat down and waited expectantly.
Wykla bemused, went with her dragon as he headed towards the first blue to Impress from the trio. She ducked her head a little nervously. "Uh, hi. I'm Wykla." Sensing his hunger, she reached for a bowl of meat and popped a piece into his waiting jaws. Looking back she noticed the trails in the sand.
"Kameth, doesn't it hurt to drag your wings like that?" She was worried he'd hurt his tender hide. I will grow strong quickly, Mine.
