Well, he seemed to be friendly atleast. Seeming to have also ahve clashing thoughts about being caught in his act, she couldn't stop a grin from creeping a bit across her face. Sitting up, she placed the pencil and diary down. Then she placed the half eaten fruit on the diary so it didn't get dirty. Turning her attention to him now, she pulled on her nose as a greeting.
"Fair weather Elf. My name is Spade. And who might you be that is showing such interest at me?'
Her tone was light, if not amused at the strange situation that had just occured. She was being polight, and waited for his responce.

"A-Alcion." He stammered, then caught himself and coughed a little. He looked a little like a child caught with an hand in the cookie jar at the moment.
"Alcion En'Lojist, pleased to meet you, miss."

Maxim unconsciously fumbled with his sleeves as he made his way through the crowd, trying to keep his mind on not running into people. Why he had to do this was completely--
No. No, no, no, I promised Lill I'd do this, and do this I will. I put it off as long as I could.
The awkward elf grinned to himself as he walked towards the market square. She probably would have thrown me out of the shop if she could.
Unfortunately, the idea of quiet, reserved Lillian tossing him out on his ear was amusing enough to break his focus, and he did just what he had been trying not to do - ran straight into the back of one of the shoppers at the edge of the square, and promptly fell over.
"I-ah, that is, I'm so...so sorry! Didn't see you...didn't know that you......I, so sorry!"
He hastily got up, brushed himself off, and walked into the square as fast as he could, trying for all the world to sink into the thin folds of his beloved brown coat...or perhaps jump into one of its many pockets.

A sketching elf, and a bestial... she looked tough, but by the way she was inspecting the shrubbary Miranda doubted she was a fighter. She sighed, making herself more comfortable on the edge of the fountain and looking over the crowds. She crossed her legs, wondering if there was a horse selling stall somewhere near.
Zian had spent a good few hours people-watching, fascinated by the many varieties of elves, the tiny marvels that were their faeries, the types of bestials that he'd never seen in his tribe before. (He was particularly intrigued by Spade, a species of beast that he hadn't even heard about in the stories his father spun as easily as he wove thread.) Awkwardness kept him from approaching any of them, though. "I mean, what do I say?" he wrote in his journal at one point. "'Hi, you look weird, mind if I stare at you for a bit?' They probably wouldn't be flattered." He scans the merchant carts now, especially fascinated by the jewelry in all its finery; that kind of adornment was much more rare among the hunters of his tribe. If Zian catches Miranda's eye, she may very well notice muscles beneath his feathers and a lean, strong look to him - a warrior who's been training for two years straight now and knows how to use a spear.
"Hmm..." Miranda said quietly, her eyes falling on a bird bestial. Strong, but young. And with the delicate leanness of his build he would only be able to fight certain types effectively. And that would depend on his speed, as well as the strength of his opponent. He moved like a fighter, but oh so very young! Even for a bestial! She sighed, wishing he had a few years on him. She would approch him if she found no one else. Such potential, after all! But before she did she wished to observe him for a while, as well as the others. At his age he was no doubt still training. To send him into the ring with experienced brawlers at this time seemed a little premature.

"Nice to meet you Alcion En'Lojist."
Spade smiled as her head bowded in responce, her curiosity winning over. She seemed to lean over a tad to one side, here eyes questing to know just what he had been drawing of her. She smiled a bit more, looking at his eyes, ear twitching a tad.
"Since we have exchanged pleasentries, I am wondering, might I be inclinded to find out just why you were staring so intently at me before? I am a ted bit curious."
Her hands brushed her dress unconsiously, as if to make sure it looked nice. She also made sure to not knock over her diary or fruit on the floor or into the fountain. She debated weither she should put it away or not as she waited for his responce.

((OOC: Real post now...I'm so sorry about that. sweatdrop ))
Zian rises early every morning, spending a good few hours practicing before he heads down to the festival. Some days he's itching to get out there, to see all the sights, sounds, and people that seem to almost cloud his senses at some points. But the training of a warrior is the only thing that's fulfilled him in a long time, and Linz's taunting that he'd surely come back from the festival fat and lazy pushes him to keep in shape.
Three sets of situps, pullups, blocks and jabs with the spear in the tiny space of the inn room. An hour of meditation and breathing exercises. And then he's off to the streets full of noise, color, and light.
He's decided to spend today shopping, hoping to take home at least one souvenier from the festivities. Jewelry is generally impractical for a warrior, getting caught on things and possibly even breaking, but the carts selling it have caught his eye since he first got here and he's sure he can make use of it somehow. He scans the items, actively looking for something to his taste.

Hester had truly intended to try and make this day useful; make a few acquaintances, perhaps learn a bit more about the arena...but it was the merchants that successfully stalled her plans. At the moment, she was scanning the wares of a rather artistic stall, her hazel eyes lit with avid curiousity. Never in her life had she seen such strange things. Many of them looked useless, but their unique looks and lovely decorations drew her in irresistably. "This is very pretty." she admired a trinket box aloud, lifting it closer to try and make out the pattern on top, which appeared to have a forest theme.
But then she came to her senses. Recalling the last terrible night, the half-bestial suddenly sighed, all too aware of her aches, which were beginning to dim the cheerful air of the day. She tucked the box back in place almost regretfully. "Sorry, friend. It wasn't meant to be." A few moments more were spent examining before she decided to leave.
'Might as well go find an inn now.' Forget buying. Besides, there was a rather likely looking place just up ahead...

Aleric came into town with his basket of fish hanging over his shoulder, one eye slightly swollen shut. He wanted to trade, if possible. But he had honestly never tried bartering fish before. He was so used to living on his own. Being the son of a hunter did that to a guy. He nodded as he recognized a few passer-bys, then headed for the food stalls, looking for someone that might have a use for twenty decent sized fish.
Of course, considering he was almost eight feet tall his definition of decent sized fish was a little different from the rest of the world's. But he didn't realize that.

After a bit of bartering, Aleric soon had a full sized meal, complete with several glasses of fruit juice. He took his meal over to the fountain, sitting down beside it and opening the new basket that the merchant's wife had given him. This, he thought, relaxing against the side of the fountain, was how one was supposed to spend the festivities.
... Or at least how he wanted to spend it. He reached out, grabbing his first drink from the basket and sipping it slowly. It was so good not to be drinking water and eating fish. Then he grabbed the first of the sandwiches, smirking at the size. It was large enough to fit his hands, which was saying something since he had very big hands. With that thought he took a bite.

After finishing his meal, Aleric stood, heading back into the crowd, although he wasn't too fond of the stares his size merited. Worst part was? Even other bestials gave him a wide berth, as if worried he would run them over.
He sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets and contemplating returning to the gladiator arena. Watching a fight could be almost as enlightening as personal experience, after all.
Then he paused, catching sight of another artificer's stall and turning towards it. The fighting could wait. He didn't plan on being in an elven town for another year, at least. And elves knew the most about magic.

((Im sorry for poofing, Shiro... I was tired so I went to sleep early...))
"Oh, I... I was drawing." Denying it didn't even cross the elf's mind. It was how he was. "Drawing you. I've never drawn someone like you before, so I thought this might be a good opportunity..."
He flipped the sheet with the drawing on the top again.
"People's faces always gives me problems, so I was practicing on another sheet, so I wouldn't ruin the sketch." He explained, somewhat curious at what her reaction would be. Hopefully the drawing was faithful, so far.

With a sway of her hips Tessa artfully dodged the hand of a passerby trying to snatch her coin purse off her belt. The market was crowded and it wasn't making her purpose easy this afternoon. She'd gone to Alcion's quarters to seek him out, but his valet informed her he'd gone out to enjoy the festival.
She hopped up on a wagon bed, ignoring the startled shout of the wagon owner, and shaded her eyes from the noonday sun to peer at the sea of bobbing heads drifting through the square. Even if no one in the world shared Alcion's hair color, she still doubted she'd be able to spot him amid so many bodies.
With a sigh she hopped back down, flipped the wagon owner a low-value coin, but certainly enough to compensate him for footprints on his wagonbed, and began wending her way further towards the merchant stalls.

Alcion continued to explain about the drawing, but then he stopped. He could have swore, on that wagon...
...
"Excuse me, miss Spade, but I believe I might have to cut this short..." He gently ripped the sheet from the drawing pad, rolled it, and handed it to her. "I apologize for leaving it unfinished, but I hope that you will still enjoy it..."
Getting up and shoving his drawing pad under his arm, he entered the crowd in search of Tessa.

[sorry, I had alot of school stuff yesterday, so I didn't post. Sorry]
Spade was interested, but her mind wandered long enough for her to miss the opertunity to converse with him more since he spotted something or someone. He got up, gave her the drawing and took off. She got to her feet and extended an arm to try to stop him, but he was soon swallowed by the crowd.
"Darn. I wonder what he saw that made him leave so fast? I hope I didn't scare him off by finding out about him drawing me. Darn."
She unraveled the drawing and it was impressive even in it's rough form. Rolling it back up, she slid the drawing in her bag. She turned back and settled on her favorite spot on the fountain. A bit upset for loosing a person to talk to, she sighed and leaned back. Picking up the fruit again, she extracted a seed or two, dropping them into a vial before she continued to much on the rest of it.
"Sigh."
