No, becuase we worship Erik not Leroux, it'll be an honored day but not THE holy day. I'd say we should take the day that Erik was born but obviously none of us are certain on that date. Of course we could always just take a current pagan holiday and call it Erik's birthday (you know like Jesus and Christmas...) I say we take Halloween heart

And we should have weekly sermons, like how Jonathan Edwards got famous for his "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" , talking about those who would be eternally damned to hell and all the ways they'd be tortured, we should have some one preach about "Sinners in the hands of an angry opera ghost", or something talking about all the ways Erik would send you to hell xd

Now that I read Red Death's post again doesn't it seem less churchy and more.... culty?

Is Erikism a religion now or a cult? Hmmm....

Well technically a defintion of a cult is a small upstart of a different view or belief, Christianity was a cult in Roman times until it gained more popularity and became a more accepted belief i.e. religion. So right now we're a cult (which has negative connotations I know but most cults are peaceful heart ) until we sweep the world with Erikism! ninja heart

and THEN start crusades and punjab all disbelievers

Anyway, I like the Halloween idea. Hmm...what to call it...
Erik Day is way to boring. Punjab Day? Hmm, I guess we'll have to work on that one.

Erikmas maybe? But we do need to work on that.

How 'bout the Day of Red Death? *pokes phans* Huh?Huh? xd so what if I'm biased damn it! but the celebration should mandate the attendance to a giant masquerade (and since it's on halloween we could claim that all those pagans were really celebrating Erik's b-day anyways heart ) but there should be one place most phans congregate (like how the Mormons own the state of Utah) or it should be declared a mandatory traveling expense (like the trip to Mecca) and all phans are recquired to pray in the direction of the Paris Opera house!! *is getting carried away* sweatdrop

Ooh! I must celebrate The Day of Red Death! And the trip to the Paris Opera House seems most appropriate! Erik would want us all to see his master work after all!

Hey, we can't just have holidays without a purpose! And we can have way more than two, as many other religions do. We need reasons! Or at least an excuse for the general public for when we march around with masks and punjab lassos...

But all joking aside, I'm converting my friend. I think my Erikist ideas have driven her insane and I have gotten her to read the bible (a.k.a. Leroux's novel) I'm coming up with all sorts of ideas and a more religion-like atmosphere for Erikism.
