"I only have so much to get by for two, so I need to save, but right now, bounty hunters know you're in town. We'll have leave when it starts to get dark." She sat down and gently pushed her bounty back to bed, urging her to rest a bit more. "There are hunters eyeing the house left and right, and if we leave now in broad daylight, there will be no ways of you getting out alive." She placed the damp cloth on her head, looking out the window. "Just rest, Quick. I don't want you dead."

The accidental outlaw allowed herself to be pushed back down into resting position. "Well, I'll trust your word about the supplies then. But wait...how'd the other bounty hunters get word of me being here?" a frown crinkled Nora's sweatly brow. Her breathing wasn't as laboured as before and she was a good deal cooler than she had been. She was surprised when Diane replaced the dry cloth on her head, even more so by the words the other spoke. She would have blushed had she not already had a feverish complextion. Her delight ebbed away as soon as she remembered why she was in this mess to begin with. "You only need me alive to get the full bounty." she sighed.

"Sure is tough s**t to keep you alive, but my beliefs ain't as dim as the other folk trying to get you. I'm not keepin' you alive for the bount, but because there ain't no reason to kill ya. So shut yer trap before I have a reason to kill you." She stared down the girl. Sure, she's a bounty hunter, but she ain't a selfish b***h. "Rest up, cuz you're joinin' me on horseback tonight. We need to go find ourselves a place to stay that isn't infested with bounty hunters."

The outlaw realised she'd touched a raw nerve, but couldn't surpress a grin. "Ok, ok....and I really am sorry about all this...." She appologised awkwardly before closing her eyes and feigning sleep. In all her months on the run she hadn't met another person like Diane, or at least she hadn't met another bounty hunter like Diane. Most shot at her on sight, while others tried underhand tactics such as poisioning her brew at taverns. None had actually stoped to hear her side of the story, let alone worry about her failing health. It wasn't long before she was actually asleep again.

The sun was beginning to set. Diane had been watching over Nora's as she fought her illness. When it had gotten dark enough, she packed her thing of whatever she had left over from her last trip as well as the little amount of supplies she bought from the store. She also had written a thank-you note as well as leaving some gala for the old doctor who had cared for the outlaw. Then, she nudged the girl lightly. "Hey, Quick. It's time to go. We need to hurry."

Nora blinked sleepily from the bed, she was more than tempted to ask for five more minutes. Rising to sitting position, the outlaw took it slowly, to see whether or not she would faint again. Encouraged by the lack of the world spinning, she swung her feet over the bed and set them on the ground. "Ok, give me my boots....and then I'll do my best to hurry...." she swallowed suddenly nervous.
If the people Diane had mentioned were still watching, odds were that they would have their guns at the ready, and that could spell bad news for the both of them. Unless she was armed. Unless they were both armed. She tied her bootlaces and tentitively tested her footing by standing causiously. "Miss Vixen?" she began, her voice raspy, more like Thorn's than Nora's "Can I have my guns please? That way we'll have tripple the fire power....if we need it. I won't run. Merchant's honnour."

Reluctant, the bounty hunter passed on the outlaw's guns to her, giving her a bit of trust. "I do hope you keep to your word, hon. You'll surely regret it." She took a peek outside, no sign of anyone watching, but there was sure to be trouble if they rushed their way out. "Quick, you wait til I bring the horse to the back of the house, and we'll get out of here."
Having everything packed and ready to go, Diane set out to get her horse, untying it from the post. Hopping onto it, she went as far as to the end of town, then around the back of the many houses, towards the doctor's home.

Nora lent against the solid wodden frame of the door as she waited, tucked just out of sight. She was nervous. If this went pear shaped one of the could get injured or killed. If only I'd left her out of this... the thought surprised Nora, she'd been having some serious regrets about dragging the other woman into this.
As she heard the horse approach, she opened the door a fraction, ready race out and mount as soon as the animal was close enough. As Diane came into sight, Nora heard the front door smashing in. Breaking cover she dashed out and was beside the horse before it had even managed to stop. Grabbing onto the saddle, she pulled herself on, just as the first bulled wizzed past her ear. Returning fire she heard a man grunt in pain as one of her shots found home.
"Get going will ya?" she yelled as she sliped one arm around Dianes waist so she didn't fall, while using her other to send off a volley of shots into the darkness around the doctor's house.

Making sure that Nora was secured, Diane was off. There were still gunshots coming from behind, some were even close to hitting them, and before the entire town knew it, they were gone. It was obvious that they were prepared for such a predicament, but didn't expect such a quick getaway.
When she felt they were far enough away, Diane slowed down her horse to a halt, then checking up on the outlaw. "You alright, Quick? You're clingin' kinda close."

"I'm fine...it's just a little chilly, I'm scared crapless from that gunfight and you're warm....that and I haven't ridden doubble saddle before...and horses scare me....." Nora was having a rough time of it, so she was clinging to the bounty hunter like her life depended on it. All of her fears had come tumbling out of her mouth at the short question.
She was well awear that Diane was in a predicament now. She had two options, hand Nora over as Thorne to the bastards that wanted her, collect the bounty and live a comfortable life. Or let her go and live the shame of knowing that she could have handed over the possibly the most profitable bounty any Hunter could have wished to encounter in their life time. Clearing her throat, she spoke a little more heasitantly than before, "So....what now?"

"Dunno. If ya still wanna go to the coast, I'll take ya there. If ya dont, well, I'm not too sure as to where to go at this point." They were in the middle of nowhere; Diane had strayed off the path, but she was pretty sure if they went forward, it would go to their destination. "It's all up to you. I honestly can't make the decision here."

The outlaw sighed. She had made a bit of a hash out of a seemingly simple plan. If only her health hadn't failed her. Things would have been so much better for the both of them. She unconciously snuggled closer to Diane's back, the arms around the woman tightened slightly as she re-adjusted her grip so she was stable on the horse and comfortable. She was sure the other woman could probably feel her heart beat hammering away as the adreniline from their escape worked through her body.
"I need to go to the coast. I need to get my revenge." she muttered. Nora was hellbent on making the pricks that had framed her and her family pay dearly, but she'd need to enlist help. She wasn't sure if Diane would agree to help her any more than she had, but Nora was going to try and pursuade the bounty hunter. "I need you to take me to the coast. And I need you to hand me over as Thorne. As soon as you've done that, you'll get your bounty. I'll find a way to escape, and I'll pay you half as much again............In the time I'm in their custody, I'll get evidence of their framing me, and then I'll have them sunk." she spat the last part of the sentance out with venomn. Her grip on the bounty hunter had tightened even more as she spoke - realising this she eased up slightly and allowed Diane to breathe as she appologised.

Diane was quiet for a moment. She felt the outlaw cling onto her as she spoke, then relax as she finished. It was a win-win situation, turning her in and getting the bounty, only to get payed more when she manages to get out. But frankly, it was not the money she was thinking about, but about the outlaw. Even if she turned her in, how would she know that she would get out unharmed?
At this point, they were on the move again, traveling a few more miles before it was time to stop and camp out. On her own, Diane had started a fire and pulled out a few rations and water for the outlaw to eat. "How are you with your fever? It's not getting worse from the traveling, has it?"

"Fever? What fever?" Nora tried to pretend like she had no idea what Diane was on about. A shiver running through her body betrayed her tough act as she scooted near the fire. She knew her fever was stable. For now. But she was a little cold, as another shiver ran through her, the outlaw tuged a horse blanket out of her pack and huddled into it. She greatfully accepted the rashions given to her by Diane
To seperate herself from the cold ground of the desert, she pulled out her bed roll and placed it near the fire, sitting on it and huddling down once again. As she did so, a thought occured to her. While she knew the miser the bounty hunter went by, she had no idea what the womans actuall name was. "Miss Vixen? I'm not meaning to be rude...but I have no idea what your name other than 'The Gambling Vixen'...U-unless that is your real name..."

"It's Diane Wright, hon. The Gambling Vixen's just somethin' most people know me by," she sighed, "I'm very reckless with my gamblin'... That's kinda why I'm in this situation. Not a very good title to have, really." She lay on her own bed roll and looked up to the sky.
"Not a cloud in sight, so hopefully there wouldn't be any rain. It's already bad as it is with you sick, and if it rained..." She quieted down before anymore negative thoughts filled her mind. "... Look... Nora, is it? Get as much rest as you can. We'll need to get movin' before the sun rises."
