Fish were okay, as animals went. Difficult to do long experiments on, as their lifespans were limited and there wasn't much you could do to the water without limiting the lifespans even more. Still, fish were okay, and exotic fish could actually be kind of cool, so Tara approached the booth with caution.

She took time choosing a net, weighing several in her hands and finally selecting one that she judged to have more heft than the others. Whether it was really any sturdier remained to be seen, but at least she felt confident in her choice of net. She removed her helmet and gloves, wanting to make sure she had the best vision and ease of motion possible, and slowly dipped her net into the murky water.

"What the heck?" Tara was not an expert on fish, exotic or no, but she didn't think goldfish were normally green. Or sporting prominent teeth. So either these were goldfish that had taken a long swim in something toxic, radioactive, or otherwise mutative... or somebody was trying to pull a fast one.

Either way, Tara was thrilled. This sure beat a boring, run-of-the-mill, dollar-a-dozen goldfish! She grinned and reached in with her net again, imagining the possibilities.

First green, now green and glowing and... "Is that another eye?" she asked aloud, giving the fish a cold stare. "This just gets better and better!" While fish still weren't at the top of her list for animals or Halloween treats, these fish were pretty darn cool. She could only hope that the last one would be as cool as the first two.

"Third time's the charm!" she mumbled, getting a better grip on her net and thrusting it in once more. Surely there was something spectacular waiting for her at the bottom!
PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2010 9:42 pm

"Jackpot!" Tara declared triumphantly, hoisting her last catch out of the pool. As if green and glowing wasn't cool enough, her last one was rainbow-colored! This booth was quickly becoming her favorite one, and she would have tried for another fish, had the attendant not reminded her that she only got three tries. Still, it was hard to be disappointed, what with three fun and feisty fish to her name.

"Can I have the glowy one in a pumpkin tank, and the other two in bat tanks, please?" she asked, already planning what she would try with her new fish. Even with dissection and x-ray out, the possibilities were endless!

Giving her new bust and blonde wig one final adjustment, Emily quickly got to work, wrangling the newly caught...exotic goldfish, into their new tanks. Flushed with pleasure that their booth already had a player (and they seemed to enjoy it!) the maid happily congratulated her, "Excellent job, miss!"

Watching the next girl was extremely exciting, as it looked like she had won twice, but oh those wily fish, they had indeed been bred for cunning and stealth Mother Nature was truly amazing in her mysterious ways. When the last fish stayed truly and firmly caught, Emily breathed a sigh of relief, "Perseverance overcame!"

Oh a group had come up...ah....they seemed to be having some trouble...ah. Emily found herself suddenly regretting putting Miss Mindy's face on most of the scoops. Somehow...seeing her little paper face nibbled away by p...goldfish, was more than a little unsettling. "Ah! Excellent job on getting one!" She congratulated the girl and quickly placed the fish in a tank, she gave them a small smile.

Biting her tongue, Emily resisted the urge to greet Miss Tallulah. After all, this was supposed to be a Covert Halloween Operation. She wasn't supposed to be recognized as Emily Moffat, but rather as p***y Galore. It even said so on her name badge. With a pang, she gave the other girl her tank. The laser mounted p-goldfish held a very special place in her heart. Sadly, Mr. Lee did not have such a place in his heart. Or his pools. Or bathtubs. "Farewell, my little sniper."

What finesse! What prowess! Catching two of the fish so skillfully! Emily subtlety signaled to Miss Mindy on the other side of the booth. This one shows promise! Possible ally? Turning back to the business at hand, she quickly got the girl's catches ready.

Seeing the blue-haired girl get nipped, Emily bent down to find the insurance forms they had brought...just in case. What appeared to be a gun (?!) slipped out of her greatly enhanced cleavage. About to tuck it back down her blouse, a tragic slip of the finger occurred. A white flag popped out of the gun's barrel, brutally piercing her chest, and a damp spot quickly began spreading over her shirt. Turning to Miss Mindy, she signaled, Breast down! Breast down! Be at ease, though, eventually the customer did get her fish properly tanked.

With a small smile, Emily watched the sisters' antics. She also found a jacket to cover over her now decidedly lopsided chest. That was also damp. Oh, if only she had brought a back-up breast! If only she had worn the Bond Girl Bikini! Not only would the damp not be an issue then, it had a utility belt as well. As she congratulated the girls on a catch well done, her bottom lip did not start to stick out. Not at all.

Amazed at this new player's skill, Emily nearly forgot her current misfortune, signaling excitedly to her mistress, This one has truly elite skills and reflexes! Well pleased at this turn of events, she began placing the fish in tanks. Upon reaching the rainbow one, though, she paused and stared at it for a long moment. Slowly she picked it up and squeezed. SQUEEEEAKEEEEE! With a small flush, she explained, "Ah...this one is a toy. I thought they might like a few things to chew *cough* play with." After giving the other girl her real fish, Emily stared at the toy with a look of consideration. Her eyes slid right. Left. Right. And then, in a swift blur of motion, she slid it down her blouse. Looking down at her (much more even now!) chest, she gave herself a small nod and adjusted. SQUEEEEAKEE!

Feeling more confidant again, Emily practically beamed at the little girl who came to play. Maybe it was just the hair, a but like Miss Mindy's only wild with ringlets, but she hoped the girl did well. And she got...two rare fish?! "Excellent work young miss!"

Surprised at yet another person catching two, Emily gave the fish tanks a worried look. Were the fish tiring out from racing after people's paddles and fingers? Or maybe these last two had been sets of twins? Emily found she rather liked the thought, not wanting to be a p-goldfish home wrecker. "Well done, sir!"

Another set of twins?! What HAD that lab been doing to these....perfectly natural exotic goldfish?! As a matter of fact, they looked a lot like the previous pair! And...a few other ones come to think of it. What if they were all related?! Emily had a small frown as she signaled to Miss Mindy, This one looks very energetic and has decent reflexes, possible recruit? Question: Am I now a home-wrecker?

All thoughts of destroying flesh-eating perfectly harmless little fish families fled Emily as Mafia Princess approached the booth. She held back from encouraging the other girl too much, or cheering when she succeeded, but in the end, she couldn't help handing over the tanks with a quiet, "As expected of the principessa."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It was one familiar face after another! Except...did she know this young man? Who did he...ah! Don Diablos Initiate Elzo Xanis! Except...it was not quite. Could it be...a clone?! Emily gave the boy a hard stare as she handed over his tank. "Not bad, sir."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Glancing at the player's scoops, Emily sighed in relief. The p-goldfish were still pretty energetic, at least. "You really got them worked up, sir!" Then she noticed that the two chewed scoop nubs that remained were Miss Mindy ones, and frowned sadly. Oh, why couldn't the fish only go after the Emily-face scoops. Here eyes weren't watering at the (literal!) defacing of her mistress's image. No, not at all!

About to congratulate the girl on catching a rare fish, Emily noticed her expression as the fish weakly listed to the side. "Don't worry! They're very hard to kill!" Pause. "I mean...very healthy! Very healthy fish! With excellent immune systems! Yes." Another pause. "It's probably just sleepy from eating those cows before coming here." LONG PAUSE. "By 'cow' I mean something other than a cow."

Awed by the show of skill before her, Emily rapidly signed to Miss Mindy, She caught three! Very skilled! Recruit now or later? You're blazer is still looking very crisp, the butler must have leveled-up due to your unending patience and willingness to guide others to bettering themselves! Turning back to the victorious catcher of fish, Emily exclaimed, "Excellent work, catching these three! How do you feel about the current world order?"

Eve had never really tried fishing before though, she reflected. It required too much patience and she just didn't have enough! Thankfully, this didn't require holding a pole and waiting aimlessly. Grimacing slightly at the sight of the murky water, she dipped the scoop into it and tried to catch a fish.

She got one! Eve grinned excitedly, eying the green goldfish which flopped about in her net as she handed it over to the people in charge. Were goldfish really green? She thought skeptically, before flashing a smile at the girl manning the booth. "The Pumpkin Tank for this one please!"

Another try! Hopefully she would get poor Mr Green a companion so he wouldn't be so lonely. Fish always looked so sad anyway and she wondered why they never seemed to smile.

Unfortunately, she wasn't so lucky the second time and the paddle got snapped away. That earned a frown from her as she got another paddle, trying to peer into the depths of the water. What, were the fish unhappy that she had taken away one of their companions? "I can't believe you would actually like living in that sort of water." She murmured, wrinkling her nose.

Try number three!
PostPosted: Sat Oct 30, 2010 7:08 am

Try number three resulted in another Mr Green, or was it a Miss Green? Eve wondered. How did you even tell what gender a fish was anyway? They all looked alike! "Bat tank please!" She chirped cheerfully. At least both of them would accompany each other and hopefully, the company would cheer the sad looking goldfish up.

...And also help to convince her parents that she was able to take care of herself when she moved out.

To be honest, Mindy was more worried for her pi- exotic fish. She had already seen one of them attempt a good bite at a potential customer, but alas, they still came out clean. She had specifically asked for the most destructive exotic fish - had they gotten a little boggled on the ride? Sadly, she waved two of them away, sniffing dismissedly

She waved the next batch a fond goodbye as well, hoping they would at least learn to forgive her. Perhaps one of them would find an owner one day that would devote themeselves fully to their pets. At this point, she realised with a startling sort of clarity, that some of these ribbons were tied unevenly. With horror, she ran into the back again, scissors in one hand

"Fish?" Seth looked back at the odd stand, with its murky waters and strange tanks. He was here to pick up something, as an errand for one of the people he knew. He normally didn't participate in games, but those gray eyes couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Was there goldfish in there? It hardly looked like anything survived in there. Were they sure that all the fish weren't dead?

He stepped closer to the tank, his gray eyes staring down at the dirty water, while one hand carelessly held onto the bag of the item he had been sent to get, and the other hand shoved into his pocket.

He guessed that the fish must have been alive. He wasn't a fish person. But fish were low maintenance, he supposed. They even offered tanks. It wasn't as if they required constant attention like a dog or cat. And given the option, he could later sent them to Shinra disguised as a gift. He looked around, gifuring that it wouldn't hurt. "I'll try." He told the owner of the booth, receiving three flimsy fish nets.

What was he supposed to do with these?

With a glance, he leaned in to shove the little fishnet into the tank. he wasn't aiming for any particular spot. And there was nothing gentle about that movement. Maybe shoving wasn't the correct word, but he was sure to stab any occupant that might have been lurking in those murky waters.

Ah. There was a fish in there. He looked at the little sea creature caught in the net, eyeing the green goldfish flopping around with a suspicious glance. He may have been wrong about there being fish in the water, but he wasn't really sure that this was a .. fish. He was no expert, but green? Even Seth had his doubts.

"The bat tank."

But he readied himself for a second try.
