 Artie Hopper Artie froze up instantly, his face going pale. "I-I s-see..." He replied with a stutter.

"And boys aren't?" she asked dryly. She let the boy drop onto the other couch, examining the lamp that was on the desk. She pressed the switch, causing the light to come on and making her jump back in shock.

"Uh huh," she replied, not really paying attention to him, more on the lamp. She pressed the switch again, and once again she jumped back when the light went out.

Artie Hopper "...W-why a-are you turning that l-lamp on and o-off?" He asked, his stuttering lessened a bit, since he was now quite a distance from her.

"Oh . . . It's called a lamp?" she asked curiously. "Why does it light up and then go dark?"
