 Lacy didn't know any better. If she had been awak she would have blushed profusely. She snuggled up closer to Devlin drawn to the warmth that eminated from him.

He looked over smiling kindly at Lacey as she huddled closer to him in her sleep. Smiling after a moment he let out another deep breath and closed his eyes slowly going into that in between portion of sleep.

lacy woke that morning feeling better than ever, it didn't matter to her that she had slept in, which was very unlike her. She rolled onto her back, and her eyes widened when she saw a figure next to her. She almost yelped but kept silent when she realized in was Devlin. She smiled a bit and slowly slipped out of the covers hoping not to wake him.

Devlin almost always woke up in a dramatic fashion eyes snapping open and bounding out of bed/off couch it didn't matter he was used to snapping awake. it wasn't Lacey though that woke him up it was his own internal alarm system his body just wouldn't let himself sleep any later then nine or ten any day. and that's what happened now His eyes snapped open and he took a deep breath his eyes darting around and he slowly began to pat himself down with his hands another common occurrence. And that's when he let his breath slowly out.

Lacy looked at him curiously by his near death looking gaze. "I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" she smiled at him still concerned. "are you okay?"

He smiled letting out a yawn and stretching "No, I'm alright I just always wake up like that and allays wake up early." he said tiredly.

Devlin frowned after a moment wondering what to do now then looked around after a moment "Ok I don't remember alcohol and we're both clothed so that might either be a good or bad thing." he said jokingly

((its all good i was busy too)) lacy laughed affectionately but tsked him. "I'm pretty sure its a good thing. I can't hold my alcohol worth a cent and I'm probably...." she let that sentence trail out into nothing. She blushed nd tossed a pillow at him hoping he would let it drop. "do you want some breakfast?"

He chuckled and let the pillow hit him and just laughed back affectionately "Yea, I could go for some breakfast and don't worry I'll eat anything and be thankful, after all anythings better then field rations." he said gently then went back to the comment on alcohol "Despite my size I can hold my drink." he said chuckling he was a small man in stature but was built.

Lacy smirked at his comment and laughed "well luckily for you, I know how to cook. Thank you very much" she gave a mock bow and wasn't at all insulted. She was still laughing. She raised and eyebrow at him teasingly "I thought you were on doctor's orders not to be drinking?" she smiled and walked out into the kitchen the stain on the floor and the dishes all ready vanished. Washed away and cleaned. "eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, omlets...what'll you have? and please don't be modest I don't mind at all"

Devlin smiled and chuckled following her into the kitchen quietly for once without his boots on. he slowly appeared behind her walking "I am thinking an omelet with potatoes and corn beef and hash." he said smiling "Either that or bacon and eggs." He chuckled then as he heard her comment on strictly no drinking "I remember you saying I have a problem." he said wrapping his arms around her waist "Not prohibiting me from drinking though." he said chuckling still

((YES!!!!! stressed scream sorry!!!!! emo crying )) Lacy smiled as the contents from the fridge flew out onto the counter in a neat stack. She turned around still having to look up into his eyes. Being 5'5" was so unfair. A couple hundred years ago she was a freaking sky scraper, but as everyone else grew over the centuries, now she was the short one. She smirked and pecked his cheek lightly, "maybe I should have a word with the doctor, then"

Devlin just smiled he was by no means a big man only standing at 5'7 And he judged that she was only a couple inches shorter then he was. He was supposed to be at least 6 ft but he had other plans. He didn't want to be a giant or have people constantly looking up to him, so on one hand he drank massive amounts of coffee and smoked like a freight train when eh was younger to impede his growth. he had other reasons for using both substances other then that but right at that moment he was glad he did. "He just chuckled shaking his head but smiled blushing slightly under his beard as she pecked his cheek with her lips.
