Nika Hesse It is clear that whoever is responsible has some issue with certain people in the guild...or perhaps even authority figures. There isn't enough data at present to be sure. Yet, the message Mav got... It was a clear struggle and she knew a he was coming. I'm not quite clear as to what "it" is, then. Perhaps the "he" is the mastermind and the "it" is responsible for the murder. There is also talk of abuse in the message, meaning there could be more wounds than the ones seen about the neck. No real evidence to tell us what exactly caused the marks around the neck, however. I'll need another drag or two. There is more to this than we know at present. What does Chattercop have to say about this?
Maybe "it" is an animated?
The reference to hitting over and over again made me think of the Lizzie Borden case gonk (though we've got nothing to point towards an axe murder)

Nika Hesse Well, all we know for certain is that: 1) It was murder. 2) Fortune was the victim. 3) Marks were found upon her neck. 4) The Chatterbox Mule was the discoverer. May be it was the Chatterbox Mule?! *Law and Order sound plays* The 'he' could be a lie And why are we all assuming it was a vampire?

Unless, of course, the marks are related to the murder but not the actual cause of death, which also opens the possibilities of blunt force trauma, poison, suffocation, and drowning. Though drowning is unlikely given that she was probably killed in her office, but it is theoretically possible.
Long story short: cause of death would be helpful in narrowing down possible weapons and murderers.
Also, I'm totally innocent, I'm too nice to kill people, right? Right?

Anything could have happenned, a combination of several methods to harm, torture and/or kill her. If she was killed in her office, and there >was< no blood, strangulation is most likely and the probable cause of death. It would be helpful if we knew what the marks were/looked like-bruises, fang marks, etc. "Also, I'm totally innocent, I'm too nice to kill people, right? Right?" Right. biggrin
