-Ephraim-

Good, so the young man was still capable of talking despite being hit by an arrow. Tough man for someone whose not physically a fighter if Ephraim can say so himself. Not even L'Arachel would be capable to take such a hit and still be capable of moving, let alone talk. Ephraim searched himself, hoping to find something for this boy, vulunary, elixer, for the love of all that is good something. Sadly however, this was the only time Ephraim did not carry any sort of healing items on him. How careless, he usually did but not this time.

He could hear foot steps approaching, recognizing whose voice it belonged to despite the darkness that they were in. Yet somehow being close to some of mages that were casting magic, there were flashes of lightening here and there so it wasn't completely dark now (unlike before).

Blah blah blah everything happened so fast, said writer is very lazy to incorporate everyone's freaken post so she's just going to jump to the part where Blythe ran off toward Roy and take it from there, ok? Ok! Ok, lets go :I

"Hey!" The lancer called when the troubador suddenly up and ran off toward Roy. Its dangerous! Not to mention that boy was still injured himself! Ephraim turned, attempting to follow the boy until he was stopped when a lightning bolt came crashing down just inches in front of him. Had it not been for Kishuna suddenly jerking the lancer back a couple steps, Ephraim might have gotten hit. A second one followed that, Ephraim looked up then shoved Kishuna aside, allowing them both to avoid that second bolt. This did give Ephraim enough lighting for him to locate that god forsaken mage. Once it got dark again, he took this chance to charge up to the mage.

The only thing that poor mage saw was the lancer's face before the spear pierced him in the chest before he collapsed onto the ground with a soft 'thud'.

User ImageBlythe had just finished using the Heal staff on Roy, so hopefully the red-headed swordfighter would be back in action at full force, or at least close to full force. The Troubadour was fortunate yet again that had been able to perform his duty without being attacked thanks primarily to the vicinity of his comrades, but how many times could that continue to be the case, he wondered in the back crevices of his mind. He’d learned that being able to heal meant you had a big bull’s eye target on you during battles – especially when there weren’t any other healers around to be targeted instead. Still, despite being a target, and despite the fact that he was still somewhat injured, Blythe had been paid to assist this group with his ability to use staves, and he wasn’t about to fail on a job he had accepted!

“Hang on” he yelped towards the blue-haired swordsman assisting Roy who had been struck by a Thunder-based spell not much earlier. Blythe hurriedly began the staff-healing process yet again, on Oujay this time. But he had more difficulty concentrating than usual, and it was slowing down his efforts considerably – arrow removed and poison dealt with, the Troubadour was still injured. His unspoiled, hard-earned upbringing endowed him with a sturdier constitution than most Troubadours, and granted him the benefit of continuing being able to keep up his efforts far more efficiently than a bratty, self-entitled, never-had-to-work-a-day-in-their-life, nobility Troubadour could ever hope to in this situation. But by no means was Blythe an impregnable fortress; he still couldn’t handle physical damage as well as a melee unit, and his current injury was definitely slowing down not just his efforts, but attentiveness to his surroundings.

So while Blythe was using his Heal staff on Oujay, the light it emanated making him an even bigger target than normal, he failed to observe the approach of a Bandit from behind that had somehow slipped through those nearby. Had it not been for said Bandit’s battle cry as he was closing in to attack Blythe, either he or Cesario would have been seriously injured. But the enemy’s lack of discretion allowed the healer to nudge his steed out of the way in time, thankfully. Still, he hadn’t finished healing Oujay by then, so his efforts up to that point had been wasted. And Blythe certainly wasn’t trained or equipped to take out this bandit. Their cry surely alerted those nearby of his presence however. Much to his chagrin, he’d have to rely on his allies to take care of the mongrel before he could hope to do any more healing.

Pain... pain... damn, everything was hurting. And then, his body felt lighter, and the nausea dissipated. There was a faint glow around him as he opened his eyes. He heard a voice before he spoke, chuckling a bit.

"Much better. Thanks Oujay, Blythe." he responded.

After Oujay helped the young lord back to his feet, he waited for the Troubadour to finish healing him. He shifted his gaze over to Ninian, who was standing nearby. She looked... different, for some reason. And it wasn't because of her change in clothes, or the mastery of a legendary weapon. No... there was something else. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he couldn't deny that she was more offense-oriented instead of support now.

"You've grown stronger, Mother." he said softly.

Just then, a bandit came charging in with a battle cry, interrupting what could have been a tender mother-son moment of being reunited. Though the attack was meant for Blythe, who was in the process of healing Oujay, the troubadour responded quickly and evaded the strike. Without missing a beat, Roy moved forward, pressing his foot on the blunt side of the axe and shifted his weight onto that leg, causing the axehead sticking out of the ground to sink just a little more. As the bandit tugged to try to free his weapon, Roy stumbled slightly due to the difference in constitution, but he held firm before he swung his iron sword at the bandit's outstretched arm, intending on severing it from the body.

It was a messy cut, as the bandit pulled his hand back. The limb removal didn't happen, but he did take a few fingers. Looks like that bandit wouldn't be able to hold a weapon with that arm anymore. As the bandit stumbled back, holding what was left of his hand, Roy pushed off the foot that was on the ground, his free hand holding onto the sword grip. The redhead then cut down the bandit with the jump attack, the strike meeting at the shoulder near the neck and curving down the torso, the weapon sliding free of flesh on the bandit's opposite side at the ribcage. He couldn't slice the axe user in two, but the cut should have been more than enough to fell the man.

"Let's cover Blythe, but watch out for arrows!" he called out to Ninian, but his words were also directed to Oujay and the wolf, if he was still around.

((Sorry if I jumped the gun on this one. sweatdrop ))

He barely turned in time to deflect his strike, his grin spreading wide across his face. He used his bloody hand to sweep the errant hairs of his mohawk back, and the blood smeared then across his face only highlighted his insanity. "This is more like i', boy!" he cackled. He was starting to become unable to truly retaliate to Abel's attacks, but he was capable of at least deflecting them all.

Well, most of them. One of his sword strikes cut across his chest, slicing through his shirt and drawing a little bit of blood, but he was still going strong.

Thwup.

The green-haired girl, whom Radboud had dismissed because her horse had run off, had fired an arrow at some point. The arrow embedded itself into his left shoulder.

"Tha'... was a good one, kid," Radboud laughed, letting the arrow stay protruding out of his shoulder. He shifted the sword to his other hand, still grinning. Even if his movements were a bit jerkier, he swung repeatedly at Abel, almost feverishly. He couldn't stop fighting now! Not when the fighting had just gotten fun!

The bandit had monstrous dexterity. Blood flew from his cuts and an arrow stuck out of his shoulder, and yet the bandit reacted to no pain. He did not slow down. Abel wondered if even the incineration of dragon's breath could stop him. The sword's shape made it seem able to rip through their scales. Radboud was truly merciless.

Abel's reflexes were put to an exhausting test as he barely stopped each swing of the blood-stained sword. Several grazed Abel's arms, as they couldn't be completely thrown off. He couldn't keep going like he was, eventually Radboud would break through and that would be the end. Abel dug his foot into the ground and pushed against the next clash. As he lunged, Abel pushed Radboud's sword back and then dashed passed the bandit, slicing at his side. Once in back, Abel shifted his body and hold without moving the sword and then plunged towards Radboud's back. However, that bandit's stamina was superior and had made Abel somewhat sluggish. He had enough time to divert the blade from a fatal blow. Abel didn't look to determine, but it may have only struck the front of the thigh.

To avoid being sliced open, Abel took two leaps back and then began to run across from Radboud, avoiding direct combat. The fight was never one he could have won on his own. A younger Abel would have become enraged by the fact, but the one before Radboud was thinking about how to use the resources available to stop his enemy. He was thinking like his brother. He needed an opening. "Sue!" he called. "Let one fly!"

User ImageThe first arrow that Sue fired had indeed hit its target. She watched from afar though, as Abel's opponent showed outstanding resistance to any forms of pain! The slice across his chest? The arrow to the shoulder? None of it slowed him! Still, it was not the time to panic. The fight was still winnable, if only...

"Sue, let one fly!"
The nomad heard her Hero ally call out.

Yes, now he was thinking! "I'm on it, Abel." She answered. Together, they could beat this menace that they faced! Proudly, the Sacaen pulled back another arrow and let it go, knowing surely that its accuracy was just as deadly as the last. With much haste (and luck, even), this battle was going to be over, and they would be the victors. That was one thing that Sue was almost certain of.

The first time he got hit, he even stopped and checked out what it was, which made sense because it may have been something fatal. The arrow would make him at least stop for a moment if it didn't make him drop altogether.

With the extra moment given Abel turned around, skidding with the dirt, and then fiercely swung his sword upward. A blast of wind came rushing out, splitting in the air to act like scissors. But Abel did not stop with just that attack, he knew that it would not be enough. After swinging upward, he took off towards Radboud again. Both the arrow and the wind attack were distractions and they hopefully provided an opening. With all of his might, Abel leaped towards the bandit and swung his broadsword at Radboud's neck.

Adel "Grave" Yuoin

What had happened to the dark furred wolf laguz who had aided both Oujay and Roy earlier? This answer could be found a short distance from where he had last been seen with Oujay, though now he was not a wolf. Grave was kneeling with his back against a tree, cursing as he pulled an arrow from his shoulder. As a wolf, removing an arrow would not have worked, at least now in a productive manner. As soon as the arrow was free though, blood dripped down his arm much to his annoyance. He had expected that though, removing an arrow was not usually a smart thing to do in the middle of a fight. He could not fix that now though, luckily there was a healer nearby...

Except that the healer was under attack with a group of allies about him. The situation did not bode well for the troubadour, and yet by something the man had managed to see the attack coming and evade. Grave gave a faint growl as he shifted back into a wolf, moving off with only a slight limp to the others. He was not so harmed that he would not be able to fight, but his wounded front left leg and the arrow wound that had managed to find itself in the same place was not helping matters for him. Movement was all he needed right now, and he could accomplish that. If he needed to fight, jerky movements would be enough for him.

Grave gave a growl in response to Roy's words about watching for arrows. That hadn't done him much good. Yes, Grave did know he was dealing with poison in his system, but right now there where those dealing with slightly more concerning injuries. Grave was hurt, but the poison was the worst part in his mind. He could live with that for a while though, after all it was only one arrow... though Grave was unsure of the potency of said poison.

So Radboud was still fighting, still insane, still acting almost vaguely as if having a blood fetish or something.

And he fought and tried to hurt people and got really badly hurt himself.

Tune in next time to find out just how this all happened!

The meeting place was closer to where he fought the boy than Javelin thought. It wouldn't be a surprise if some of those people heard the explosion or saw the fire. They would have to finish their other business first, though. Which looked like... it was almost concluded. That stupid old man had majorly underestimated the resistance. If Javelin had taken too much longer to arrive, he might have missed everything. Well, he didn't really care that the bandits were failing, he only cared about finishing his job. Javelin didn't even care if the resistance managed to slice open the old man so long as it didn't hurt him.

The challenge wasn't in figuring out how to capture the girl, it was finding her. The battle was at night for one, and there was an annoying number of hidden faces rushing around. Javelin had never seen the girl before, all he knew was her name and that she had long green hair. He was good at seeing at night, but really, he didn't have some special magical night vision. He wasn't eager to get close enough to every person with long hair, either.

Fortunately, the long and tedious task of finding the girl was reduced to mere seconds, as her name was called out to fire an arrow. Javelin laid eyes on her and smirked. How ironic that her teamwork had double crossed her by revealing her identity. After firing that shot, the next thing the girl would realize was that both of her arms had been seized and her bow knocked from her grasp. Javelin lowered his head close to the girl's and chuckled softly. "Make a scream and you die." he warned. "It seems the old man wants you. You'll be coming with me."

Javelin yanked the girl's arm back and quickly bound them with wire. If she struggled, the wire would cut into her skin and make her bleed. Javelin then picked her up and cradled her like a prized babe as he began to run off back to Eyris. He passed the boy in green and smirked at him, but didn't know if the boy saw him or not. He also covered the girl's mouth after taking off, but may have done so too late. He didn't care, though. Javelin was too fast to be caught even with carrying another. He passed out of the woods and into the field within a couple minutes. It was another job well done.

↣ ↣ ↣ Sue ↣ ↣ ↣

User ImageThe battle had continued, and that was all Sue was concerned about. Her comrade, Abel, was getting the upper hand by the looks of it. They'd win for sure, in just a few more seconds, even! She aimed again. Sue was prepared to fire. Her eyes did not even catch the man that was sneaking up on her until it was much to late. The nomad felt her bow be dropped, as her surprise attacker knocked the weapon from her hands. She wanted to call out, but, a hand had seized her mouth before she even had the thought.

"N... NO! Abel, Abel... help!!! I can't... be taken like this, I have to help my father after escaping this ambush!!! She thought frantically, her eyes only looking towards the hero, being unable to speak to him as terror overwhelmed her every sense. The binds she felt wrap around her rather tightly... she knew she could not struggle against. Sue would be cut to ribbons if she even made a move!

The nomad was unsure if her comrade noticed, but she hoed to Father Sky that someone would notice! Right now, there was no way for escape, no obvious one. Sue was being taken to that man who held her father captive. Was one attempt at execution of a nomad not enough for him?! No. Rogvold wanted her, because he knew that if left alive, she'd rescue Rath no matter what. A wise move, a cruel move, and a direct one. Shutting her eyes, Sue accepted her fate right now. Maybe, hopefully... Father Sky would grant her a chance to do the only thing she wanted to do before ultimately returning to Mother Earth's embrace.

User ImageA dark shadow lingered in the sky above the field. The darkness hid its presence, only the moon could reveal the the flapping wings and even then only faintly. The creature silently made its decent when sight was caught of the fleeing assassin. Hardly any noise was made as the creature got closer and closer. Eventually, it would be noticed, but it was faster than the assassin. Its jaws opened and snapped at the man as it passed. No flesh made it into the creature's mouth, which meant the kidnapped had leaped out of the way. There was no way to tell what the creature was. It was dark, and so was the world. One could only assume that it was a wyvern; a big wyvern.

It flapped to a halt and the rider jumped from the saddle. The beast took off back into the air. The rider's identity was hidden by hood, mask and cloak. Even the gender of the rider was hidden, but only by the distance between them. The only noticeable weapon was a sword with an emblem on it that neither the assassin nor the girl would recognize. No words came. The rider only responded with a hand wave and the raising of the sword. It was a challenge. The rider was not going to let that assassin take the girl. But for the girl, was is really safe to replace one cloak and dagger practitioner for another?

(Tooootally not me or anything!!)

Oh, Javelin had noticed the creature. Even though the moon only dimly showed the wings, he was more than skilled enough to see a dragon flying about. He just didn't consider it to be a threat. Only when it began to come after him did Javelin quicken pace. He wasn't trying to outrun it, merely trying to confuse his pursuer by darting in various paths. It was simply an unfortunate circumstance that he was in the open field. He could not use trees for cover and he could not stand still. He was perfectly cognizant that the wyvern would catch him. And when it tried to bite him in half, he had no choice but to lunge aside, tossing the girl from his hold.

Javelin scurried back to his feet and drew both of his blades out. He was taken aback when he got to see who attacked him. He didn't expect to have to kill two assassins. Well, this one hardly looked like an assassin except for that laughable getup. This one was trying way too hard to conceal himself. Actually, perhaps it was herself. Stiletto boots weren't very desired or fashionable among men. Also, Javelin thought he could see some lumps jutting from that cloak.

"What's this? That was pretty bold of you. A mistake, actually." He couldn't help but cackle at the situation that had arisen. He didn't know who he would have to kill, but he didn't care. The person was in his way. "Your last mistake." Javelin charged at the assassin impostor, very eager in accepting the challenge. He wasn't going to waste time with special tricks for this one. He doubted she could even see his attacks coming. Whether she would be able to block or avoid the wider blade that was headed towards her right arm would prove so or not.

The kidnapper was coming fast and it looked like a stream of white. But the rider was not blind. She twirled the sword up and blocked the assassin's thingy with ease. She then grinned. "Arrogant b*****d."

The rider's strength would be a surprise to the assassin as she pushed him back and swung the sword. She knew he had two blades and couldn't just block one so that the other could stab. After the assassin was pushed away, the rider took a large step forward and swung the sword downward at him, quickly swung it back up, and then chased after him, fiercely swinging her sword when each chance came. The kidnapper's speed was infuriating, but the rider's persistence would have to be considered the same.

(Yeah, I don't have anymore sentence word... creative putter together.. thingy... I lose.)

Abel stood, using his sword as a crutch, and breathed heavily. The fight had been difficult, but he and Sue pulled through in the end. "Heh... We did it. Thanks for the help, Sue." He looked to the side. "...Sue?" His eyes widened as he saw her being carried away by some strange man. "Sue!!" Abel picked up his swords and was about to chase after her, when his shoulder suddenly felt like something fast slashed right through it. Abel stuck his sword back into the ground and leaned on it as he shouted from the pain. He looked in front of him and saw an arrow sticking out of the ground. It hadn't punctured him, but it didn't miss. Those archers wasted no time in targeting him after seeing that their leader had been killed. Abel didn't realize that there was poison embedded into the arrowhead's tip. He would eventually.

"...Dammit, no! Sue!!" Abel shouted loud enough for others to hear him, but he didn't take the time to let them know what happened. His mind was frantic, he was only able to react to seeing his friend being captured. So he took off after Sue, even though he knew he probably couldn't catch up.

When Abel made it out of the forest, he could hear the clash of metal a little ways further into the field. He couldn't see all that well, but he knew it had to be Sue. Abel feared the man was doing something to her. "Sue!!" He shouted her name several times as he sprinted across the field. Hopefully others would eventually follow after him.
