As he awaited an answer, a disturbing noise started to grow louder as a large cart came into view. From what Chibutsu could observe, the cart was completely covered with a tarp, and so were the two men walking beside the female who rode on the horse. Not a hint of their appearance was able to be discovered, but he knew one thing for sure: they were headed towards Kirigakure. Chibutsu turned to the Merchant as he spoke. Apparently he had been to Amegakure a few times before, but long before he was born. Then, he said something about Chibutsu having spirit. The shark boy smiled, and nodded. Their cart and the one on the other side of the road were now across from one another, and that when Chibutsu noticed a larger male on horseback trailing behind the cart across from them. There sure is a lot of people escorting this cart. He thought, turning to Aria as she spoke. "Yes. It's kind of like Kirigakure, as there is always a mist surrounding the village. In Amegakure it is constantly raining. I think both villages are great though, I really enjoy the watery atmosphere, haha."

People talking about shinobi villages, and they are traveling away from one too? There was even a mechanical thing being led ahead of their group, so they must be shinobi. One of the men in front of the cart put a hand up to his head like he was scratching his hair, before mumbling a short complaint of some kind. Now, the two carts were even with each other as the gray tarp flew up and over the Kiri-nin's cart to smother it. The large man on horseback tossed down a small vial on to the ground at the same time, producing a billowing, voluminous smoke-like fog. Galloping away at full tilt, the large man kept himself and his horse away from the smoke as if his life depended upon it. In the other direction, towards Kirigakure, the Clydesdale could be heard galloping away without a rider through the smoke, which left the two men on the ground and the one woman that was on the cart to be found. More pressing matters at hand though, as the Clydesdale stuttered, tripped, quivered, and then lay still in the mud, never to awaken again.
Aria kept her eyes on the travelers as she replied, "That sounds like a beautiful place to be! The rain always puts me to sleep when I'm relaxed." She was ready when the gray tarp flew up over them. Even though she wasn't the strongest member, her adrenaline had kicked in enough to let her pick up the merchant alongside the other genin, and jump up out of the cart with him. Landing on the upper branches of the tree with them and the tarp, she noticed that the cloud was still growing. Team first, and the jounin should be okay, she thought. Leaving the tarp on the tree, she hopped over another few trees with them, while scaling up to the highest tops of those trees. Soon, when her adrenaline would run out, she would feel the weakness return. Making a handsign, she used henge on her, the merchant, and the other genin to make them blend in with their tree.

((I apologize for not posting sooner, but from here on out, after this round, we have to follow a post order. It'll be AOE, me, Misfit, and then Kittenz.))
-----тhe gleam of light reflected off of glass caught the corner of my eye not a moment before the tarp flew over Takumi's cart. Almost immediately, Aria sprung from under it with Takumi--how she could lift him was beyond me--and clear from sight. -----I remembered the vial then, and watched as it hit the ground between myself and the cart. Given the speed the man who threw it bolted, I knew better than to stay where I was. Turning Kasai, I headed into the trees, at the same time pulling out my puppet scroll. I could only hope that Chibutsu had been smart enough to run as well. I didn't need to see what that fog would do to guess it wasn't good. -----I placed a hand against the seal for Tosai. I'd considered using Samajii for the situation, but I wasn't sure how well he would fair, given he was still damaged from saving Jack. The bird appeared and I quickly attached the strings to it. Pulling out the headset, I retreated to a good distance before placing it over my eyes. Then, I moved Tosai in to attack. -----The fog was moving much faster than I liked, but I was safe for the moment. I could vaguely see the shape of the riderless horse collapsed on the road, which confirmed my fears that the fog was deadly. Which would make Tosai suspicious if it didn't affect him. He was made to look realistic, and I had to utilize that. For now, I kept him above the fog, circling like a vulture. I wasn't going to start attacking until I knew Chibutsu was clear and I could see my target, even if only vaguely.

ρυρρєтs αcтιvє • Kasai At 12 feet (365.76 cm) in length from nose to the tip of the tail and 42 inches (106.68 cm) to the shoulder, Kasai is the full embodiment of the mighty tiger. It has white and black synthetic fur covering its body, but underneath, it is made of bamboo and steel.
Puppet Description: This puppet was built for attack and speed. It is built of mostly bamboo externally, but the internal bone structure is steel. This gives it power behind its attacks. A chakra steel orb where its heart would be allows it to absorb chakra from Shadow for uses as either a blast or camouflage. Bladed steel claws and teeth give it a devastating bite. Kasai's body is pretty much solid, with only a couple of compartments carved within, one for holding ink, and another for a spool of wire. This makes it weigh something close to 800 lbs (362.87 kg). To make up for this, hydraulics in its legs allow for easier movement despite this heavy weight.
Mechanism Summary: • An orb of chakra steel at the heart of the puppet can store up to 100 chakra, as applied from Shadow. Chakra cannon located in mouth. The rank of the blast is determined by the amount of chakra released (i.e. 5 chakra = E-rank up to 80 chakra = A-rank). • Can become camouflaged with surroundings using 80 of stored chakra (equivalent to A-ranked Meisai Gakure no Jutsu [Camouflage Concealment Technique]). Chakra signatures can still be detected by sensors and doujutsu such as Sharingan and Byakugan. • Reflectors on the points where the strings attach to the puppet attaches the strings likewise to either Shadow or another of his puppets. This allows him to move himself or a puppet instantaneously out of harm's way. • Puppet contains a mechanism to allow it to combine with other puppets. By reactivating the strings (costs the same as Kugutsu no Jutsu), the puppet disassembles and attaches to various parts of another puppet. The claws of Kasai become blades of four large axes, and the limbs an extra set of arms to wield them. -Army of One Discipline- • Large ink compartment in stomach. Used as emergency ink for larger Ukyo techniques. 9x9x6 inches. • Compartment at base of neck opens to a wire dispenser. Used to ensnare opponents and draw them closer. Holds up to one hundred feet of wire. • Hydraulics in limbs allow for increased agility and speed despite weight of puppet.
• Tosai Rather realistic in appearance, the puppet resembles a golden eagle in size and proportion. It has a wingspan of approximately 84 in (213.36 cm) and a body length of 36 in (91.44 cm). However, it weighs a bit more than a normal bird, about 12 lbs (5.4 kg), though it is still very lightly built. This makes it rather fragile. The bird, as mentioned, is rather realistic, with a lot of effort put into its appearance, thanks to its user’s perfect memory and artistic abilities. It is covered with reddish-brown feathers, darker at the tail, save for a strip of white feathers, and head, with yellow hind legs and a slightly darker beak. Its talons are abnormally long, however, at about two inches.

Though it represents an eagle, they are much harder to find and too majestic to hunt, so he used mostly hawk feathers, though the wings proved difficult to find the proper feathers and length. For the base of the puppet, he used a bamboo structure, since the reed was both durable and lightweight. It was given the same bone structure as a bird, for the most part, though the hollow cavity of the abdomen was also reinforced with bamboo. This cavity, as well as the ‘skull’, is utilized for mechanism compartments. The beak is made of animal bone, carved into the proper shape and painted. The feet are also made of bone, though jointed. They are the only obviously jointed area without inspecting the puppet closer. The talons are made with bladed steel. Shadow uses his tree climbing ability to climb to the highest branches of most trees, greatly extending his sight range and, therefore, range of the puppet’s control. He designed the puppet to be utilized as more of a scouting weapon than an offensive weapon, with mechanisms to help it get away in tight situations. It is also manually collapsible, where the head and legs contract into the body and the wings fold neatly against the back. This makes it easier and less awkward to transport.

Darn them! The humans still inside the poisonous cloud took aim at where they last saw the tarp fleeing to, firing off several rounds of crossbow bolts. The bolts would miss the young girl and the man she was running away with, embedding into the tree they fled. Losing sight of them, they turned their masked faces to look at their surroundings. The Clydesdale was down, their rider was galloping away safely, one of the Genin had been affected by their poison, and a vulture circled overhead. Maybe it knew that there was a fresh meal laying in the merchant's cart, or maybe it just had good timing. The girl on the cart moved to sit inside of their wagon, on a strange contraption as the two lower males went to skirt the edges of the dense fog.

-----αs the fog began to reach so far vision cleared, I realized that Chibutsu had made it out of the immediate area. Good. It meant I didn't have to hold back. -----It was hard to tell where exactly to strike. Did they wear armor beneath their clothing? I had to be careful. As soon as I attacked, Tosai would be given away, and she was too weak to take much damage. I would have to retreat almost immediately. In that case, why not just hit them with everything she had? If it came to it, I could shield her, sort of. Or if I lost her, it likely wouldn't be in vain. -----My move decided, I opened the ink compartment in Tosai's underside. The three inch by three inch by three inch container released about a pint of dark ink. As it began to fall, I did two things. First, I fired six of Tosai's poisoned senbon into the liquid. Then, using the proper hand seal, I activated the Ink Projectile technique. The ink formed into countless dime-sized orbs, concealing the senbon within them, and then rained on the three enemies trying to hide within the dissipating fog. I wheeled Tosai away, trying to get her back to safety.

тєcнηιqυєѕ υsє∂ • Ink Projectiles - D Description: Using this jutsu the user can create an almost infinite number of projectiles to hurl at their opponent, or to counter any thrown object. The ability to counter thrown weapons comes from the use of chakra in the jutsu. As the projectiles come in contact with something harder than them, which is pretty much anything other than skin, the break down into a sticky black goo that causes any flying object to loose it's aerodynamic properties and fall from the sky.

Despite everything that was going on, of all the things Shadowseeker could have been feeling, a faint sense of dread for a dark cloud on the western end of the sky had shown up in his mind. It was very faint, but definitely present. As quickly as the feeling came, it went again, passing like a ship in the night.
What can I do to help my sempai, Aria thought, digging through everything she had learned recently. Keeping the Henge no Jutsu still active, she started up Konton: Usagi no Ashi [ Soul Release: Rabbit's Foot ] on Shadowseeker. The jutsu would subtly allow him to go faster, manipulate his puppets with greater reflexes, and protect everyone. Peering over the edge of the tree, Aria glanced down at the men walking around at the edges of the cloud as the bird overhead dropped a payload. Looking back up, from her height, she could see some bad weather incoming soon. That wasn't an immediate threat, she assessed, checking once more on those that had been lifted out of the cart. The merchant looked to be okay, but the genin she had brought along was passed out, as his eyes were closed.

н ú η у ι ѕ т í r's attack fell from the heavens, pelting the ground and those on it with his ferocity. The two men skirting the edges of the cloud never saw it coming, but they hadn't the need to: as the decidedly deadly rain showered them, bright glows emitted from the holes of their cloaks. The cuffs of their sleeves, the bottoms shone upon the ground, and their facemasks lit up from the outside. Not a single orb of ink had affected them, but strangely they looked like pincushions with several of the metallic senbon sticking out from the tops of their heads and shoulders. Even so, they both quickly staggered out into the clean air and let out a muffled yelp as their scalps were accosted by the very points of the senbon. (i.e. now poisoned by the puppet Tosai) Both grasped the points afflicted on themselves and tried to remove the offending metal.
The last of those within the cloud, the girl, had successfully retreated to the inside of the wagon's strange mechanism. Though not yet regularly visible due to being rather close to the center of the cloud, the rain that fell upon it both caused it to glow in a similar fashion as the others, and produce a highly metallic clinking sound as it repelled the senbon. The glow briefly showed a hemispherical shape before dying down. Now darkened, several loud clicking sounds emanated from the same location, followed swiftly by a hail of return fire in the form of crossbow bolts. The firing would attempt to follow and predict the path of Tosai as it did so.
Pro-tip:
UHV armor, for basic grunts with no ingenuity, can negate 1 chakra based attack or defense, every other post. i.e. they have a 1 post cooldown. Be persistent or think outside the box!

-----ιt was a bit hard to follow the ink projectiles, but the two men outside of their cart almost... glowed? I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. The ink did nothing against them, but stick uselessly to their clothes or the ground. For the most part the ground, which was strange. But, a barely audible yelp from them both alerted me to where my senbon had gone. They had made their mark. Now all I had to do was bide time. -----I couldn't shake off the strange sense of foreboding I felt. Despite the fact it had only lasted a brief moment, the darkness remained, and I didn't like it. Maybe Jack would be able to explain it? -----There was still the matter of the third enemy, the female that I had seen near the cart. I wheeled Tosai back toward the road in time to hear the bolts being fired. I threw up a couple of hand seals and activated Kikou Junpuu. Chakra in the form of pale shields of light spread in front of Tosai, protecting her from the strikes as she flew over the cart. In place, I opened another of Tosai's compartments, releasing many small pieces of paper. I flew Tosai away as quickly as possible to test the cart's range, and watched as the pieces of paper touched the ground around it. -----As they did, I activated the explosive charges sealed within them.

Kasai's body is pretty much solid, with only a couple of compartments carved within, one for holding ink, and another for a spool of wire. This makes it weigh something close to 800 lbs (362.87 kg). To make up for this, hydraulics in its legs allow for easier movement despite this heavy weight.
Mechanism Summary: • An orb of chakra steel at the heart of the puppet can store up to 100 chakra, as applied from Shadow. Chakra cannon located in mouth. The rank of the blast is determined by the amount of chakra released (i.e. 5 chakra = E-rank up to 80 chakra = A-rank). • Can become camouflaged with surroundings using 80 of stored chakra (equivalent to A-ranked Meisai Gakure no Jutsu [Camouflage Concealment Technique]). It was given the same bone structure as a bird, for the most part, though the hollow cavity of the abdomen was also reinforced with bamboo. This cavity, as well as the ‘skull’, is utilized for mechanism compartments. The beak is made of animal bone, carved into the proper shape and painted. The feet are also made of bone, though jointed. They are the only obviously jointed area without inspecting the puppet closer. The talons are made with bladed steel. Shadow uses his tree climbing ability to climb to the highest branches of most trees, greatly extending his sight range and, therefore, range of the puppet’s control. The attackers down there on the ground were attacking them why? She thought that maybe they were attacking to get the goods on the merchant's cart, but if they were, they would have just taken off with it. Were they trying to kill the merchant, or maybe even them? Aria shook her head, trying to dispel the thought. She had only just been a regular shrine maiden for the past year, the other genin looked like he had just been issued a headband, and their teacher looked younger than she is, so there was no reason for them to be considered a threat. Why, why, why. Returning from the gloom, Aria kept up her supportive jutsu.

The explosives touched the ground, setting off a chain reaction that blew the men on the ground far away from the cart, dead. On the ground, their cloaks looked to deflate as the armor that they were wearing disappeared. The woman in her contraption were blown sky high, revealing a brass sphere with many ports, likely of which were where the crossbow bolts had emanated. Landing on the ground with a crash, the sphere crunched in on itself so hard that blood sprayed from the previously welded points. Soon after, the sphere disintegrated along with its rider, going back to the same location as the men's armor. The raiding group had been defeated. (50 x 3 = 150 A.C. granted, congrats!)

-----тhe paper bombs worked much better than I'd intended, and killed all three of the enemies. It was unfortunate that they had to die. I didn't enjoy killing. I never had. But I had become more accustomed to it over the past year, so it wasn't as shocking any more. Still... -----With the smoke cleared, I brought Tosai back to me. It was a shame I had wasted her senbon. My hope had been to bring at least one of the soldiers to the Raikage when we arrived at Kumogakure as a sort of peace offering. The two villages might not necessarily see eye to eye, but we were still considered allies. Besides, any information obtained from these strange soldiers would be beneficial to all of the villages affected by them. This group, I had only begun to hear rumors about, but it seemed they were based in Otogakure and bent on attacking the other villages. I worried for Kirigakure, since they hadn't been targeted yet. But the soldiers were within our borders, heading for the village. I would have to inform Sypher when I returned. Or better yet, right away. -----I made my way back to the road and the merchant Takumi's cart. It had been damaged, but seemed to have been far enough away from the explosions to avoid complete destruction. -----On Kasai still, I approached one of the dead soldiers, and picked him up in her jaws to move him off of the road. This I repeated with the other two as well before climbing from the massive tiger's back. Searching the bodies revealed nothing of importance. Not even their armor that had blocked the ink projectiles remained. There was no evidence they were special in any way. And I didn't like it. -----Sighing, I stood next to Kasai and waited for the others to return.
Takumi -----It was hard to say what exactly was happening. Everything moved too quickly for the poor merchant. He had been hauled off of his cart suddenly by the girl who shouldn't have been able to lift him. She had taken the other boy with her--Chibutsu, his name was? He was unconscious from the smoke. Either way, the jounin was nowhere in sight. Shaken he simply waited in silence, only making a noise when a series of explosions back in the direction of the road nearly scared the piss out of him. Why was he being caught in the middle of this? -----After the explosions, there was silence again, an overbearing one. No more sounds came from the road. Was the boy Shadow alright? Takumi's mouth opened and closed a couple of times as he sought enough moisture to speak, before his voice decided to cooperate. "I-is it over?" Wide eyes turned to the girl named Aria.

Aria watched on as Shadow dispatched the remaining foes with ease, and hoped that her jutsu helped him in some way. Biting her lower lip, she glanced down at the two people she was guarding, and felt her adrenaline deflate. Undoing all jutsu, the henge, the spiritual connection, and by proxy the bunny's foot, she fell on her rump, still up high in the air. Aria was very tired now, having accomplished things that she hadn't even imagined. Glancing over to the two others on the branch, she wondered how in the world she was going to get them down from there just as Takumi spoke. "Yes sir, Takumi-san. Let's find a way down now." Perhaps Shadow was still within earshot? "Um, Shadow-sempai," she called out to him. "Could we get a lift down, please? Takumi-san appears fine, but Chibutsu-san is still out cold. I think we should take him back to the village!" That last statement would likely not go over well with Takumi, but it wasn't like Aria had the space up there to do a proper inspection with her medical jutsu.

-----тhe only reason I heard Aria was thanks to my improved hearing, and I almost wasn't sure I had heard her. Pulling the headset over my eyes once more, I lifted Tosai off the ground and into the air over the trees until I spotted the three stuck in a tree. Moving closer, Takumi was already working his way down to the ground, but Aria and the unconscious Chibutsu were still stuck in the branches. -----Hovering carefully, Tosai picked up the small boy with her talons, lifting him off of the branch. I had to hope Aria would realize what the bird was without freaking out and attacking. Tosai carried Chibutsu carefully to the ground, and rose once more to help Aria down as well, given she didn't fight. -----Lifting the headset enough to see, I climbed on top of Kasai again and made my way over to them. I slid off of the tiger's back and knelt beside Chibutsu, first checking to make sure he was still breathing. He was, thankfully. The 'poison' evidently hadn't been as bad as I originally thought. But he hadn't woken yet, and I was no judge of whether or not his condition was getting worse. What was the best option here? -----Sighing, I opened my sketchbook to a blank page, and wrote quickly on it, holding it up to Aria when I'd finished. She was a medic, so she would know better than I would. Could you check him?
Takumi -----After the girl Aria said the cost was clear, Takumi started looking for a way down from the tree. She seemed too tired to be much help in getting down. As he reached the bottom, a large bird flew down from the sky and picked up the male genin. Unsure how to react to the sight, he gaped like a fish until the bird set him down on the ground gently and then flew back up for the girl. -----A moment later, Shadow arrived on the back of his massive tiger. Apparently he was alright, too, and Takumi could guess that everything really was over. He had no choice but to wait until they decided what they were going to do next.
ρυρρєтs αcтιvє • Kasai At 12 feet (365.76 cm) in length from nose to the tip of the tail and 42 inches (106.68 cm) to the shoulder, Kasai is the full embodiment of the mighty tiger. It has white and black synthetic fur covering its body, but underneath, it is made of bamboo and steel.
Puppet Description: This puppet was built for attack and speed. It is built of mostly bamboo externally, but the internal bone structure is steel. This gives it power behind its attacks. A chakra steel orb where its heart would be allows it to absorb chakra from Shadow for uses as either a blast or camouflage. Bladed steel claws and teeth give it a devastating bite. Kasai's body is pretty much solid, with only a couple of compartments carved within, one for holding ink, and another for a spool of wire. This makes it weigh something close to 800 lbs (362.87 kg). To make up for this, hydraulics in its legs allow for easier movement despite this heavy weight.
Mechanism Summary: • An orb of chakra steel at the heart of the puppet can store up to 100 chakra, as applied from Shadow. Chakra cannon located in mouth. The rank of the blast is determined by the amount of chakra released (i.e. 5 chakra = E-rank up to 80 chakra = A-rank). • Can become camouflaged with surroundings using 80 of stored chakra (equivalent to A-ranked Meisai Gakure no Jutsu [Camouflage Concealment Technique]). Chakra signatures can still be detected by sensors and doujutsu such as Sharingan and Byakugan. • Reflectors on the points where the strings attach to the puppet attaches the strings likewise to either Shadow or another of his puppets. This allows him to move himself or a puppet instantaneously out of harm's way. • Puppet contains a mechanism to allow it to combine with other puppets. By reactivating the strings (costs the same as Kugutsu no Jutsu), the puppet disassembles and attaches to various parts of another puppet. The claws of Kasai become blades of four large axes, and the limbs an extra set of arms to wield them. -Army of One Discipline- • Large ink compartment in stomach. Used as emergency ink for larger Ukyo techniques. 9x9x6 inches. • Compartment at base of neck opens to a wire dispenser. Used to ensnare opponents and draw them closer. Holds up to one hundred feet of wire. • Hydraulics in limbs allow for increased agility and speed despite weight of puppet.
• Tosai Rather realistic in appearance, the puppet resembles a golden eagle in size and proportion. It has a wingspan of approximately 84 in (213.36 cm) and a body length of 36 in (91.44 cm). However, it weighs a bit more than a normal bird, about 12 lbs (5.4 kg), though it is still very lightly built. This makes it rather fragile. The bird, as mentioned, is rather realistic, with a lot of effort put into its appearance, thanks to its user’s perfect memory and artistic abilities. It is covered with reddish-brown feathers, darker at the tail, save for a strip of white feathers, and head, with yellow hind legs and a slightly darker beak. Its talons are abnormally long, however, at about two inches.
Puppet Description: Shadow spent the time he was traveling over a course of three or four months also searching for materials he could use for his puppet. Though it represents an eagle, they are much harder to find and too majestic to hunt, so he used mostly hawk feathers, though the wings proved difficult to find the proper feathers and length. For the base of the puppet, he used a bamboo structure, since the reed was both durable and lightweight. It was given the same bone structure as a bird, for the most part, though the hollow cavity of the abdomen was also reinforced with bamboo. This cavity, as well as the ‘skull’, is utilized for mechanism compartments. The beak is made of animal bone, carved into the proper shape and painted. The feet are also made of bone, though jointed. They are the only obviously jointed area without inspecting the puppet closer. The talons are made with bladed steel. Shadow uses his tree climbing ability to climb to the highest branches of most trees, greatly extending his sight range and, therefore, range of the puppet’s control. He designed the puppet to be utilized as more of a scouting weapon than an offensive weapon, with mechanisms to help it get away in tight situations. It is also manually collapsible, where the head and legs contract into the body and the wings fold neatly against the back. This makes it easier and less awkward to transport.
Mechanism Summary: • Senbon firing mechanism located in mouth; senbon soaked regularly in poison made from common ivy. It is rarely deadly, but coma as a result is possible. -2 posts – Difficulty Breathing -5 posts – Convulsions and Vomiting -10 posts – Paralysis -15 posts – Coma (50% chance per post until treatment is administered) -Roll 10-sided dice. Coma occurs if an odd number is rolled. -Person can still survive after coma if found in a reasonable amount of time. -Stores up to 20 of these senbon. • Bladed talons, beak, and wing tips for attack cutting through wires or nets. Kept in a compartment in the abdomen and must be equipped before use. • Weighted net, big enough to trap a single adult. Can carry only 1. Stored in abdomen. • Paper compartment for storing explosive notes, ink drawings, or messages. Paper within compartment can be dropped via mechanism. Dimensions: 8x5x4 inches, can store as much paper as can be stuffed in it. Stored in abdomen. -Army of One Discipline- • Ink compartment with emergency ink for Shadow to use. Ink can also be dropped via mechanism for techniques such as Ink Projectiles, Sumi Gatsumi no Jutsu (Ink Haze Technique), and Sumi Ame no Jutsu (Ink Rain Technique). Dimensions: 3x3x3 inches. Stored in abdomen. • Smoke bombs to conceal escape. Can be dropped from compartment and holds up to 3. Stored in abdomen. • Eyes are cameras that allow Shadow to see through a headset what it sees. However, he is unable to see his own surroundings when using this. Used to scout out areas inconspicuously, unless chakra strings are visible to enemy (only a few clans are able to see chakra easily).
