Question on that topic: do you just post and roll, then? Or are the posts required to have a bit of RP in there? (I don't imagine that people would do too much RP because of the potential speed base, but I dunno. XP)

It's just for rolling and catching- these RPs will not be countable for breedings. They can be filled in after, though, if people WANTED to use them for breedings.
Otherwise, it's just the little event!
