❤ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [ Mystery Girl X ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ❤ Mystery Girl X was very nervous, hopefully this wouldn't effect her cooking badly. The girl grabbed some scallops. The young girl quickly took them, added some of the ingredients, such as olive oil, and pan seared them for color. Once they were nice enough, she put them to finish off in the oven. Once it was almost done, she fried some quail eggs. Once the scallops were done, she removed them, and added the quail egg to the top, and finished it off with whatever amount of caviar they actually had.
She hooped it turned out nicely, either way she was very proud of her appetizer...

Oh, well.. Kim wasn't the happiest camper, was he? Kade didn't know if he should feel guilty for that or not – oh! But, look, he already went to get ingredients! He must be secretly enjoying this! Oh, how cute! Then Kade could teach him how to cook and they could be best cooking buddies! Now, if only Kade knew how to cook.. and had a little apron to wear with it.. With bunnies. Because Kade knew Yoakim liked bunnies! All while Kade was imagining baking a cake in a cute, frilly apron with Yoakim, the man completely missed everything the other was doing. Kade wasn't a good cook in general, aside from the sweets he had spent hours learning to make, but he knew a few other things and.. paprika, garlic, and cinnamon just.. couldn't go well together. It didn't even smell good. He crinkled his nose and looked into the boiling pot of – shrimp? Well.. He guessed those could be cooked like that, but weren't they better.. fried? Or something? Uh, Yoakim seemed pretty confident in what he was doing, so the hairdresser stepped out and let him finish.
Once he did end in his little cooking show, Kade stepped in and started to set up the plate. Let's see.. they had practically raw shrimp and some kind of.. oddly color sauce. Well! Kade could work with that! He rolled up his imaginary sleeves and started to prep up, creating a simple, circular array with the sauce dragged in random loops that ended in the form of – aha! A cute little panda head! Well, there was a subject, like, right over there, of course he was inspired to make it panda-themed! He hummed a little tune he heard playing on the radio and started to color in the sauce, fixing up the shrimp and working on the final touches of his design.

Considering Herman had forced Winifred to join him in this little competition, the man decided that he should take over for the first round. After all, it was only an appetizer, right? He could do that and this was seafood – ha! He already had a dish in mind! After letting Winifred know he would be back, he headed off with the other slew of contestants to fetch what he needed. Essentially, just squid and some spices. Hey, that's all calamari needed, right? Why he liked the stuff – simple, easy, and tasty. He held the floppy, dead, slimy critters in his hands carefully as he went back to their station. He handed the redhead a knife to help him cut and separate the creature.. a bit slowly and maybe sloppily, but it all tasted the same in the end. Then, he created that oh so necessary mixture of flour and water. Some lemon zest there, oregano here, pepper and salt.. And he was done with that! Now, dip the squid.. fry them on the pan.. and.. dump them on the plate!

Florence had discarded his plate in favor of looking through what else his master had left for him, the dish rolling off to the side to, by some miracle, land right-side-up at the edge of the table. Either someone was looking out for the.. 'meal' the panda had so dutifully created or he was just a lucky panda. Either way, that plate and all it's questionable contents were staying in their sloppy, slippery goodness for all the world to see. Most of the contestants were taking this time to decorate the plate to impress, but Florence had his eyes on a funnily shaped container in the very back of the counter. It was familiar.. Enough so that he swiped his paw out to grab it but, no luck, the bottle was out of reach. Damn. ..Well, the solution was simple! Make it in reach. He moved back and around the station, as much as his leash would allow him, to get up on his hind legs. He held himself up with the back of the station and, with a small grunt, shoved it forward, causing everything, including that lovely bottle, to come tumbling forward and collide with the ground. Solution! He happily bleated and trod over to the front once more where his plate (still safe and up, mind you) stood beside the majestic bottle. The bear took it in his jaws and proceeded to chew what came to be known as honey over said plate, decorating it with random squirts of the bottle.

Well, the time was up! Now, it was time to taste! That moment was both Gladice favourite and most despised moment of the competition. Sometimes, the dishes were just marvellous, while other time… well, let’s say they were cooked by pandas… The first to be tasted was that young girl who had competed alone. She looked at the plate and immediately knew that she had been right. The reason why she was alone was to get a good job done! Sure, the plate was pretty, but anyone could do a pretty plate! However, the technique used was superb! Nothing overdone, everything was kept simple. So many people wasted a dish by trying to make something too complicated. This was made by someone who knew how too cook, but didn’t want to take any unnecessary risk. That was very impressive! She had high hope for that dish. She took a bite.

Like she had expected, that dish was very tasty! Oh, that girl had just become one of Gladice Favourite to win! The simpleness of the dish, added to the expert hands just made it so tasteful! She loved it!
Next, was the German family dish. Gladice recognized it as a German Herring appetizer. Sure, it looked okay, nothing was wrong with the presentation but… the technique… It was poor. You could see that most of the cooking was unsure. It was more various attempts to make something that he only had a vague idea on how to do. It was the cooking of someone who knew how too cook, but didn’t know how to cook that peculiar dish. Oh well, nice effort. She took a bite.

Well! That was unexpected! It was one of the best herring she had tasted in a while! Actually, maybe even better than her own! Sure, the technic and display were average but.. So tasty! Just what was the recipe? Oh, she loved it!... Just too bad it had been poorly done.
Third to be tasted, was the guy who had tried to cheat. Gladice was already somewhat biased at him for that, but she would try to give a faire chance…. Scratch that. No fair chance. What in the lord’s name was in front of her? Was that supposed to be fish cake? It was falling apart! Under cooked, ingredients where too big… was that chilli powder in the tartar sauce? Who would put chilli in tartar? She took a deep breath before taking a bit… a very dreadful bite…

Oh dear God! That was very, very awful! Ohhh... the chili powder was even worst than expected! She didn't even bother to swallow her bite and instead just spit it back inside her napkin and toss the dish aside.
Forth one were those too teenagers. What was their name again? Joshua and Leroy… wait, what? Leroy was a Girl? Well, he wasn’t as mainly as the other one but to be a girl… and with a name like Leroy? Oh, he probably just check the wrong box. Teenagers, what could you expect of them. Gladice looked at the plate. Oh? Ahi Tuna? Very good…. But… why was it cooked? Well, why was it that much cooked? It was suppose to be served rare, or medium rare for those who didn’t like raw fish… And… that was just normal bread? It was supposed to be served on crostinis or toasted bread… but that was just plain old bread… a very well sliced bread, however. All the slices were the exact same shape, of the exact same thickness... As for the tuna… while being over cooked, was also sliced to perfection. Barely a millimetre thick. Those were experts hand… coming from young boys? Strange… What about the salsa? Oh… Tomato-Basil salsa? That’s exactly how she, herself, served her tuna! Maybe they knew that and tried to win some points? The vegetables in it were also perfectly sliced… not too big… not to small… but dear lord… so poorly cooked. How could someone do such a wonderful preparation and then ruin everything? She would need to watch those two closer later on. Maybe they were cheating… She took a very confused bite.

Nope... Overcooked tuna over undercooked bread just didn't make it at all... at least the salsa was very good. But eh, they weren't judging the salsa. Well, not just the salsa. She still wanted to look at them in the next round. Something was definitely off with them..
Fifth one… The Sex Bullets… Gladice raised he eyes to the sky, wishing for God to hit her with a lightning bolt in order to spare her from tasting that… whatever kind of drinks it was. It was… all mushy and smelly and… God. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes and brought he lip to the straw… taking a very small, frighten sip…

It... strangely wasn't that bad... There was potential too it... if the recipe (was there a recipe?) was tweek a little here and there... put less alcohol, replace soy sauce with Worcestershire sauce... yeah.. potential... still, it tasted bad.
Sixth dish was that Mystery Girl X dish. Gladice had been pondering for a while, just who it was and why the fake name and the strange getup. She looked at the dish and couldn’t help but to let a small gasp escape her lips. Sure, the presentation was mediocre. Average at best. It was clear that it had been done nervously.. however… the technique… the preparation… everything was just… perfect! She couldn’t find a single flaw in the plate in front of her. Everything was cooked at the exact right temperature, for the exact amount of time. Nothing was sliced too big or too small. In fact, everything was of the exact same perfect size and shape! How… How could this be! That girl must have been some secret chef entering incognito! Gladice took a bite, as a tear of joy dropped down from her eyes.

Oh! It... it tasted like heaven! No, heaven was probably tasted like the dish the twins had made, compared to this. Had she said that Haruka was her favourite? Well screw that! Mistery Girl X now was! Gladice couldn't help but to take an other bite... and an other... and an other... before long, the whole plate was gone! Such perfection!
The sixth contestant was her own grandson and his boyfriend Kade. Truth to be told, she didn’t expect much from them… and from the look of the thigns, that’s exactly what she go. Everything about it looked wrong! What kind of presentation did they try to do? It was just a bunch of food thrown on the plate… as for the technique… well… was there even a technique? It was just… a miserable failed attempted at cooking something. Even thought she wished she could give them a point, there was no one Gladice could do something like that for that kind of plate… She took a very disappointed bite.

Oh? Wait... what? Just... Impossible... It tasted good! Very, very good even! The undercooked shrimp gave such a different flavour... the weird mixture of spice helped kick the seafood taste... and the sauce texture... crunchy but fun! Did they actually cooked something that was good? Perhaps it was that he taste bud were still in flavour overload after Mysterious Girl X... still, she had no choice but to give a perfect score.
She did however, wish that if that was the casse, they would stay like that, for the next dish was Florence... it was... A mess. Yeah, they weren't any other way to describe it. It was a mess, with honey over it. Still, what could you expect from a panda? It was already a wonder that it had throw food in a plate. She took a bite, hoping the heaven will let her have a heart attack before...

Yeah... it was a mess. A very disgusting mess. She pushed the plate away hoping to get Alzheimer over night and forget she had ever tasted panda food.
The last dish was the school principal one. Calimari eh? Well... The best way to describe it was "average". An average appetizer cooked in an average way with an average presentation. Still, it was not because it was average that it wouldn't taste good. At least, it would taste...well, average. She took an average bite with average epectations.
