He walked to another door. "You will sleep here tonight, Jane." He opened the door to reveal an empty room. Four bare walls and a bare floor. "Get a blanket from the servant linen closet, and be thankful that I'm allowing you to have one at all."
Speaking to both slaves, he said, "I expect you to wake up before me and have breakfast ready when you wake me at 8. After breakfast you will bathe me. We'll go from there. Dismissed." He turned and walked away, back to the living room to read.

Jane merely shrugged and walked into her room, closing the door behind her. She didn't need a bed; she was used to sleeping on the floor. She curled up on the bare floor, wrapping herself in her wings for warmth. About an hour later, after contemplating the next day's tactics, she fell asleep.

After reading a few chapters, Stephen also went to his room and slept. The next morning...

Jane was the first to wake up the next morning. She opened her eyes and stood up, dreading today's activities and treatment. She strode out of her bedroom and down the hall towards the kitchen, beginning to prepare her master's breakfast.

nariko smelled food and woke,setting the table and going out to get fresh flowers for the vase in the dining hall.

Jane came out of the kitchen with a few pans containing eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Upon discovering the table was already set, she dished the food onto her master's plate and poured some juice and coffee. After preparing breakfast, she went to run her master's bath.

At 7:55 an alarm went off in Stephen's room. He stopped it and laid in bed, watching the clock, to see if his slaves woke him on time.

He sat up when she entered the room. "Good morning Nariko. Your timing is perfect and the food smells wonderful. This is an excellent way to start the morning."

The food was very good. He smiled as he ate, thinking about what the day would bring. When he finished, he said, "You can leave the dishes for later. Right now I'd like my bath."

Meanwhile, Jane turned the faucet to stop the hot water coming out of it. She stood up from kneeling beside the tub, it filled with soothing warm water. She hung a dry towel over the edge of the tub, and positioned the rug beside it to keep the floor dry. After doing all this, she too made her appearance in her master's bedroom. "Your bath is ready whenever you are, master," She announced to him, standing by his bedside next to the other girl.
