Sub-Par Man Shiori Miko Sub-Par Man @Shiori: I mean unhatched and unfertilized, not unhatched-but-fertilized eggs. The people who farm - or whatever you want to call it - eggs, collect the eggs before they could potentially be fertilized. I still don't see what a chicken having it's period have to do with this. O.o? Chickens have periods? Whaaaaaa? gonk Now you see why I want to be vegan! xd Chickens will lay eggs even if it they aren't fertilized. I refer the to unfertilized egg as a chicken period.

CleoSombra Sub-Par Man Valheita Sub-Par Man Yes. Everyone has different - varying - beliefs, which is also why some people believe that babies still in the womb aren't alive, and some believe that they are. So it would be safe to say that banning it on the grounds that it is murder would be a gross miscarriage of justice, yes? The forcing of subjective morality on a universal whole. It would be a bad idea on a whole to ban it, since that would probably lead to more "back-alley abortions" which are highly dangerous. Basically, there's no way there will ever be a peaceful answer to this question, as there are so many different viewpoints and there is no way to make everyone happy on something like this. Thus, this discussion is moot. @Shiori: I mean unhatched and unfertilized, not unhatched-but-fertilized eggs. The people who farm - or whatever you want to call it - eggs, collect the eggs before they could potentially be fertilized. xD Hold up. Chickens are not fish. In order to fertilize an egg, a rooster has to have sex with a chicken. And THEN the chicken lays they egg. The way they prevent this is to separate the roosters from the hens at all times. xD Heheh, I had to read both posts - your's and mine - like five times because I was like, "WAIT. FISH. WHUUUUT?" sweatdrop Yeah, but you get what I mean. They eliminate the possibility of fertilization. People don't really sell fertilized eggs as food. @Shiori: It isn't really a chicken period. It's just natural. They're built to reproduce on a large scale but it's perfectly natural for chickens to lay an egg or two (might be more o smile every day. It's not like humans, where it's an egg (I think it isn't more. . .) a month.

They sell them by how far along they are. ...So? O.o The egg isn't fertilized so it is expelled from the body. It may happen more often in chickens, but the principle seems the same.

I've seen fertilized eggs sold in the US as well. Mostly at specialty markets and such.

Rabbits and Llama's can naturally abort their young. ninja
On this one episode of Bizarre foods, they went to go get the skeleton of a Llama fetus for a ritual in Bolivia. The guide there explained that llama's with naturally splurge one out every so often in the fields if the unborn baby llama has been deemed unfit genetic-wise or or was the product of a diseased male.
So hey, there are SOME mammals that do this in nature without aid.

I like to pull that card every time someone argues that abortion itself isn't a thing that can be found in nature. ninja

I only have one question... You people who are "against" abortion, are you for forcing women to have babies...? 0-o Is it even possible to do that? I mean, like in countries where abortion is illegal. How do you even force something like that? Do they lock the woman up to make sure that she's not gonna try anything "funny" with her unborn child? Then after 9 months they strap her down on a bed and cuts the baby out of her stomach and then put it on a list of kids that needs to be adopted?
Some people here says that if the woman wasn't raped or doesn't have a medical condition that makes the birth dangerous for her, she should have the baby anyway and then give it away for adoption. I don't think this is as easy as it sounds... Being pregnant HAS to be YOUR choice to be able to carry it out to the end. It's not an easy task carrying around a child inside you for 9 months, especially if you don't even want it. neutral
Pregnancy should be your choice. I don't think it can be any other way. surprised You can't force a woman to have a kid of she doesn't want to. (Or CAN you...? eek )
