Hiro looked around amazed, he'd never seen anything like it before, he looked at Annatar anxious to learn.

Annatar taught him everything he'd need to know when he came with her. She had already decided to take him to the rebel base. She didn't like having to drag someone his age into this, but they would need his abilites. He taught him reading, manners, etc. for what seemed like a full five days. When she was finished she smiled at him. "Next time I'll start teaching you more about magic." she said. The world around them started to fade. "Now, open your eyes, Hiro." she told him. She open hers, feeling weary. Though they spent five days in that place only an hour had passed.

Elfire finally decided to check out the explosion point, after fully dismantling the arm and picking the parts she wanted. She looked around the area. The river had already returned to flowing, it was just a bit wider now. She looked over and noticed some blue dragonoid thing. "Oh hi! Sorry, did that almost hit you? I'm sorry, I'm still in the midst of figuring out what wire launches stuff." She laughed nervously. "I hope you're not too mad. Are you ok?"

Elfire scratched her cheek sheepishly. "err, yeah. It was an accident! At least it didn't kill you." She walked over to him and helped him up. "By not the only ones, do you mean that as a good thing? Or as a bad thing?" She asked. She supposed with the new stuff she got, she could defend herself now.

"I'll bring you to my place, I can fix you up there. After that, I'll see if I can get us something to get us to civilization." Elfire said as she half carried him towards her home. They reached the entrance, which looked like a large rabbit hole with a ladder leading down it. Elfire bit her lip. It took some tricky manuvering, but she was able to help Tori safely down the ladder while not causing him too much mayhem. Inside was rather comfy, perhaps the ceiling too low, but it was home. Elfire lay Tori on the bed. "Hang tight, let me get a medkit." She said and disappeared into the back. There was some clamboring of metal as she set her pack down, returning with a medkit and opening it up. "Ok, I'm not 100% sure, how to fix broken backs, but I'm sure if i make a brace for it that might work...right?" She laughed nervously. She hadn't been out in the field a long time.

Elfire nodded and then put on some weird helmet thing. magnifying glass lens lined up over one of her eyes. "alright, let me examine first then." Elfire slid off Tori's top and checked his back. Sure enough, some shrapnel had lodged itself in, but it didn't look too deep. "This might hurt a little, but I need to take these out." she reached over and carefully slid the pieces out as smoothly as she good, though she was sure it was hurting. She set them aside and then used tweezers and her magnifying headset to take out some smaller bits. She then got water and wet towels to clean the back. "Ok, now let's check if your back is broken, I think this is how I test it." She carefully prodded certain areas. "Tell me if it hurts, and try to discern between broken back pain and shrapnel cut pain." elfire knew she was making this difficult for him, but it would take awhile to get to town, she wanted to get as much first aid out of the way as she could.

Hiro opens his eyes and looks at Annatar, he could tell she was tired, "Annatar, are you feeling alright, you look tired" he asked, over the five days they spent in there he had learned to speak very well.
