Shrugging, he gave a little smile. "I"m not really all that interesting. least where i grew up. Inherited the traditional family wanderlust, so got interested in archeology and exploring. Traveled far lands. Got into a few scrapes. Managed to get messed up enough that the doctor had to send me to an Mech-Alchemist to get this." He taps his left shoulder and arm. "That got me interested in Alchemy, so i studied that for a while. Last thing I remember is my ship going down, and this bright flash of blue light. Then I wake up in the middle of the ocean, laying on a large board, covered by a piece of sail." He shrugs a bit. "You mentioned this island was a reserve of sorts?"

Fae listened to Orian over her cup of tea and breakfast, making sure every detail he told her registered. Swallowing, he still didn't answer how he wound up here. "What were you doing in the first place on a ship? Something about Galanie, you mentioned," she spoked once he finished.
"Ah, yes, preservation," she thought aloud. "This is a private island off of Gambino, Gaia. Aerandir, a former anthro-humanoid species inhabitant this island. Then something occured and the race was wiped out," she eplained. "Or so it goes something like that. Anyway, a team of archeologists unburied artifacts that once put together, would transform into a little creature." She paused. "You may have saw Pueblo last night. She's my little Aerandir. They go through many stages, but she's only in her gryphonic stage as of right now. Now, more people have been coming to this island to make residence and help raise the Aerandir back into a thriving community," she grinned, the thought of how she surely sounded crazy.
Just then, Pueblo had flown upstairs to see what was all the racket. Oh...it was that stranger-man. She shyly stood near the hole and looked around for somewhere to hide. No where, really, and his 'scent' was all over the couch with blankets and pillows. Euch. She whimpered and stared over at the two humans. Perhaps he was alright if Fae trusted him.

"I was heading back to the port city of Galaine after leading an expadition into the jungles of Rohara. We where transporting artifacts and texts from a lost civilazation."
He listened quietly as she explained things, mulling it over in his head. "Gambino? Gaia? I've never heard of these places. Not even in the tales of far off lands." He sighs, looking down into his cup of tea. "I guess i am very far from home then." He looks up just in time to see Pueblo fly up out of the hole. "Hmmm. Part Wolf, part Owl? And she's to grow into a humanoid you said? Hmmmm." There was a spark in his eyes. A spark that showed he wanted to know more about the place he was stranded, and the persons and beings that inhabited it.

Fae frowned at how seemingly lost the man had realized he was. She finished off her tea and got up to look for a map. She knew of the one pinned up above her desk downstairs, but that was of only Cetalu. Looking amoung the bookshelfs near his sleeping area, she finally flacked out a tampered map that was rolled up beyond its years. She walked back over and pushed her dishes aside to lay it out flatly. "Does this help?" She asked. It was a pretty far regional map, exceeding past the origins of Gaia itself.
She stood next to him, though, uncomfortably, she scoot to the side to allow him room. Darn her nerves. "Huh? How'd you gu-" She looke behind her to find the gryphon about the size of a large house-cat standing there. "Yeah, Pueblo's a barn owl/wolf mix," she smiled as she summoned her little one to her. "It's okay, he's a friend. His name's Orian Ironfist," she reassured the gryphon.
Pueblo credenced Fae's words and padded up to her but still eyed Orian a bit. Her wings stayed folded up on her back, and though they looked fine, she reminded herself she'd have to preen them to perfection soon. "Peep," she cried, nuzzling Fae's ankle and wagged her tail a bit. She then looked up to the new man unnervingly. She didn't blink, nor seemed to breath. Such a stark white face staring at someone for so long could get to you afterawhile.
Fae smiled slightly, then frowned to Orian. "What do you plan to do?" She finally asked. "I suppose we could go to the Centre and see about finding you someplace to stay. But Alyosha may still be in the midst of construction, so you may have to stay with me for awhile. Unless you decide to take a ship back to your home..." She ended, somewhat dissapointed in her tone.

Orian looked at the map, shaking his head. Holding out his right hand for Pueblo to smell, he smiled a little. "I have no clue where home is M'lady, so I can't return there. I take it that this Alyosha is the keeper of this island? Hmmm. If you wouldn't mind, could I stay here with you a few days till I can find this keeper, and ask him if I may have a small corner of the island to build a cabin on? As I said, i'm an explorer, and the thought of having new lands to explore, well..." He shrugs, grinning a little. "My home has always been out on the road, and even more so since my family passed away. I'm sorry to say, there is no one back in Ivian that will miss me. So I might as well make my home where I am, hmmm?" His eyes return to the map, pouring over it, taking in the details, the names of towns and places.

Fae chewed her lip. "I'm sorry," she whispered in lack of a clear throat. "Yes, Alyosha is the man in charge." She questioned the word 'man', then shrugged it off. Nothing was normal here as far as she was concerned. What did the word 'normal' mean, anymore? "Oh, no, I guess I wouldn't..." she started to clammer. "You're welcomed too, though, I wouldn't expect the couch is terribly comfty," she freated. As Orian mentioned about making a home, she shook her head and flailed her arms slightly. "Nono! You wouldn't have to. I mean, I'm sure you could get a house...wait, no, that wouldn't work." He had to be.."I mean, if you have no where to go, then perhaps you could stay here. But that would mean you would have to raise an Aerandir..." She looked hopeful, for whatever reason.
As her beady eyes watched the hand fall down for her, she blinked at it before she stretched her neck out and nibbled gently on his finger. She gave a small, friendly trill before her tail swayed side to side. He seemed nice, she thought.
Fae watched Pueblo and was relieved she had accepted the man. "Well, perhaps we could head over to the Centre? Maybe you should get a shirt first, unless you want attention attracted to your arm," she nodded to it.

Smiling a little, Orian cautiously started to pet Pueblo, giving an experimental scritch here and there. "Well, I'd need to know what exactly I was getting myself into if I was going to raise one of these lovely beings, but, as you said, i have no place to go. Maybe in the mean time i can find some way to make myself useful?" He chuckled about her comments about not being comfortable. "M'lady, I'm accustomed to sleeping on the ground. Anything at all that has a bit of cushioning is heaven. "Hmmm. A Center you say? Lead the way may fair damsel, though your right, a shirt might help at that." He gives a small smile. "Both my arm, and my scars tend to attract attention." He slowly traces what seems to be a sort of burn scar down his chest

Fae bit back shyly. "Sorry," she apologized. She didn't know why she was so excited about situating him here, but she nodded and wandered downstairs to get ashirt.
Pasively, Pueblo allowed Orian to scritch her where ever he pleased, so long as it wasn't caustic scratching. She sat down, her ears just poking above the wooden seat and wagged her tail slightly. Her head then craned back to look at him some more and watched his face. She was always watching.
Fae soon came up with an XL long sleeved shirt and handed it out to him. It was plain, nothing like floral print or such girly symbols were found. "I hope this is good. Imade sure it was breathable so you wouldn't get too hot in it. Or, if you want, we could always get rid of one sleeve," she grinned, somewhat joking, but only if he didn't agree. After they situated, she scooped up Pueblo and headed out the door. "Unluckfuly, the Centre is far on the other side," she pointed through the fog. "But people shouldn't be up yet and we can hang out at the Centre." They walked down the front porch, passing Twizzy who was watching them from the hammock, then headed across the path.

March 20th, 2005 (Backdated)So, I guess he's moved on. Orian's curious to find out more about his new location, not to mention the inhabitants. We went to the Centre yesterday to talk to Aly about him staying. Since we already looked at the map, there isn't any place for him to go. But before Aly could discuss it with Orian, Orian fell asleep! So I watched over him and ended up nodding off into the next day. Into the next day of him hitting on Syrenrei. I geuss I don't have to worry about a flirt staying with me!
I lent him a shirt and I never got it back.. ._.

March 25th, 2005 (Backdated)About midday, Pueblo met Iniko (Draonfly's heron/raccoon griff). Inkio seems a little too active for Pueblo's taste, but she eventually warmed up to her and played a little game of leapfrog. I really aught to teach Pueblo some manners so the other Aerandir doesn't think she's rude.
I was talking to Dragonfly about signs of our griff's jobs. She was explaning how Iniko would tune out of this world and wouldn't react to you, but would react to what wasn't there. I can't imagine how creepy that would be to watch.
Pueblo, however, has been eager to use my colored pencils. So, I gave her the small 12 set box for her to use at her dispature along with a smallpaper pad. I explained to her that she has to use as much as the paper she can since she'sstill experimenting. I really disliked the way I found my home when I came back one evening to find papers scattered all over with little scribble marks. @_x
I've also noticed the ships have become more active around the island and doing more than just dock-and-go...

March 27th, 2005__________HAPPY EASTER! (Backdated)
Last night had been a night of story for Fae's family, late hours insisted by each of them as the girl explained the story of easter to them. "I'm not certain how bunnies and eggs came about, but the Christian's version is how this man named Jesus rose from a tomb after being thought dead." Questions rose about this man, and even though Fae wasn't Christian (or had any reason to be), she still well knew some things about the Bible. Afterall, what hasn't she studied?
The next day, it wasn't long before the Aerandir, Fenthry, and Tahnee woke up.
"Miss Fae, Miss Fae!" Running through the house as his bare feet pounded the ground, he looked around wildly for his guardian with a brightly colored egg in his fist. Clambering up the ladder, he saw Fae cooking something. "Look what I found!" He cried, running over and showing her his blue plastic egg.
Fae stirred the pot of gumbo soup on the stove top before her attetion was pulled down to Twizzler. She grinned and acted surpirsed. "What d'ja have there, Twizzy?" Nosing her specticals upon her bridge, she took the blue egg to closely inspect it, taking her time to tease the kid. After a moment, her facial expression got bright and excited. "It looks like an Easter egg, Twizz!" She gasped. "But where did you find it?"
A crazy grin spread across his face until the question of the egg's apperance struck him. "I..woke up and just saw it there..." He blinked, staring at the blue egg.
"Mmhm.." Fae took the time to think, stirring the pot again. After examining the soup, she took the pot off the stove and onto a little mat upon the table beside her. Facing Twizzler again, she looked at the egg. "You mean to say, you just found it? Then what's stopping you to go find more?" Fae grinned, a devious sparkle in her eye.
Twizzler's royal purple eyes widened behind his bed-head tresses and took up the offer on the hint. "You mean...there's more?!" He watched Fae's grin get wider before he sharply snatched the egg from her hand and ran off. He had never done this at the orphanage before but only heard about it. It had been cancelled due to many things that came up on Easter day. He was truely estatic.
"Don't forget to wake up the rest of the crew!!" She called out, standing on the ends of her toes. Smiling at self-proudness, she went back to the soup. It wouldn't be long before they all came back to her with small wiccor baskets she laid hidden within the house wrapped in colorful silk thread and plastic eggs. She knew they would be hungry by then.

March 28th, 2005 (Backdated)
Pueblo had been surprisingly quiet yesterday on such a holiday, but I think I figured out why that was.
This morning when I woke up, I rolled over, and there sitting on my desk was this drawing:I think it's an easter egg... But I feel so good inside knowing Pueblo's took up her natural skills and lessons I taught her. She's really starting to express herself through art. I can only imagine how experienced she'll be by her adult stage.. For now, scribbles will probably be the only thing she'll can able to handle. If she's even lucky to do that..
So, to recap yesterday's events, I set out a little easter egg hunt for the bunch. Twizzler seemed like he's never done this before, and I know Pueblo hadn't either. She kept trying to hoard everyone's eggs in her own basket like it was a nest! It was terribly cute. Then, they never would have guessed that there was candy inside the eggs. Ohh, the fun they had!

March 31st, 2005__________ As Fae and Ombre set off for home across the eerily quiet village, shadows chased the two inside as Fae closed the door behind them quickly.
Pueblo's tail, just making it inside, skirted the base of the door and gave a little leap-spin. Staring at it crazily, she looked up to her keeper with weariness. The gryphon cocked her head to the side, wondering why Fae was so freaked out. Maybe it was that ghost steam that she couldn't get a solid grip on. Yes, that was pretty scarry.
Fae's heart was worked up for no reason at all, but she felt someone watching her again. Looking quickly down to Pueblo, she sighed calmly and squwatted. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine. I'm just freaking out for no reason. It was too quiet in that demon-posessed Centre." Of course she didn't mean to insult anyone, but it seemed practial enough to her. Silence and rare faint sounds + "ghosts" = danger. Stroking over Pueblo's shiney feathers, she was careful not to make a 'petting-mark' on top of her head and so she would runher hand down her back to smooth out the wolf's coat. She squwatted there in thought, reassuring her gryphon. "Did you like that new Aerandir, Delta? The others just don't know you're shy, but you should probably stick with those manners I taught you so they'll accept you better, hm?"
Pueblo cooed a little to the gentle and affectionate rubs and nuzzled into her keeper's hand. Well...if she said she was alright.. Thinking back to Delta, she shivered with delight. It made her feel well that she ended their visit on betters terms, too.
"If you ever wondered, Delta's half peacock, and half..." Fae's sentence dragged on until she fell quiet. "Oh, I couldn't figure out what the other half of her was. And that reminds me!" Without hesitation, the geeky girl got to her feet and walked off, determined. Never inturrupt her determined mind.
Blinking a few times, Pueblo's sensative ears flickered to the sounds of movement and watched her keeper leave. Sitting there dumbfounded for a moment, she quickly ran after her, wondering where Fae had got up so suddenly for. Half peacock half..what was it? She must have missed it.
Swooping down the basement shoot, she learned to land upon the nearby desk where she usually saw Fae working at. Her sharp eyes ran over the sleek metalic machine her keeper had opened up and listened to the clicking sounds as she studied Fae's finger movements. Walking over curiously, she had only seen this object opened once before.
Fae's fingers ran over the keyboard in her small labtop quickly as the screen flashed many times. "Aaah...beh...cee.." She ran through an animal directory of mammals until she stopped in the G. "GEMSBOK!" She screamed enthusiastically.
Pueblo was just about to dangerously leaned over to see the screen when her keeper yelled suddenly. Her wings fluttered as she jumped and danced to keep her balance. Giving Fae a look of plead, she wondered why the scream was nessicary.
Fae had finally realized Pueblo was there when she nearly got broadsided by feathered wings. "Woah! Sorry, didn't see ya there Abby. Delta is a peafowl/Gemsbok." She pointed to the computer screen, referring to the stripped mammal. Noticing her curiosity, she explained the computer to her. "It's used for.." Well, there were lots of things you could use a computer for. "Research, and finding out about things. You can also play games on it, but I use mines for research. And that's only when I don't have a book handy," she winked. "Well...now that that's out of the way, we should go start supper for everyone, hmm?" Then, she closed the computer up and motioned for Pueblo to follow.
"Ombre! Twizzler! Sage! Up front now!" Fae stood before numerous of candy wrappers scattered all over the place. She must had missed them when she was too busy trying to figure out what Delta's other hald was. As everyone heard that tone, they knew they were done in. Running to line up in front of their guardian, Fae stared at them dissapointidly. "You guys! What have I tol- oh wait, I don't think I have." There was never a reason for her to tell them before. But now, candy was involved. "You guys need to pick up after yourselves! Look at this mess. You all better have room for dinner!"
* * *March 31st, 2005 Today wasn't all that interesting. I had heard things about hot springs at the Centre and looked around for them, but I think I wandered around the wrong place. I think I was in Alyosha's apparments...in his bathroom. I think I walked in on someone. X_X But noise downstairs caught my attention and it was more than a great excuse to get out of there. Pueblo was playing around in the steam, though, and I think it confused her.
Syrenrei was in the kitchen with a gryphon I had never seen before. Low and behold, it was her's. It was a little female peafowl and gemsbok (I found out as soon as I got home to look it up) named Delta. I guess Aly found her by accident and gave her to Syren in reguards. Pueblo and Delta met, though their first "hello" was a bit shakey, Pueblo remembered the manner lessons I taught her in the past few days and offered the peafowl-gamsbok a grape. I think they made friends- Pueblo worries too much about being accepted though.

April 1st, 2005 [Centre RP logs: pgs 41-44] (Backdated)I met with Syrenrei and Delta again at the Centre today. Pueblo and Delta grew closer I believe; they were cuddling and showing off to each other. Well, at least Delta was showing off. Pueblo has been practicing her manners with her new friend and proves a positive outcome. ^^
Orian joined us too which surprised me. I thought he would have been off the island by now, but I guess Alyosha is allowing him to stick around for a bit longer as a hand around the island. Not that I don't mind, I'm just awefully confused with his relation to Syrenrei. Perhaps I'll never understand these things. I think I'll stick to books a little longer.
I also met a new boy named Kiro who was studying fluffs and feathers. Alyosha told me that he was only 16 and was already at University level- he reminds me so much of myself when I was his age. I wonder why he came to such a secluded island and away from friends his age.. of course, it always could be that weird tail he wares. I swear I saw it move though!

April 4th, 2005__________
Fae re-folded the black sleeved shirt, pants, and boxer-shorts that was returned to her. Standing in front of her dresser with the folded clothes in her hands, she was motionless. Her seemingly bright green eyes, even in the dark, were fixed upon the folded cloth in her hands.
I wonder if he remembers...or if it even matters.. She thought.
Her fingers begun to gently curl around into a tight grip and soon her arms shook gently. She sighed, a sigh that was like a switch, and her body was calm once again.
No...it doesn't matter. He..doesn't matter anymore. Not like that..
Letting go of the clothes, she opened a drawer and placed them neatly inside. They had been washed the previous day, but clearly her mind was elsewhere. Deciding she hadn't any 'experience', she dropped ideas completely. Simple crushes that she was too 'outgrown' for were no good for someone that was clearly not for her.
"Peep!" Pueblo stood in the doorway of the dark room, but she could clearly see her keeper inside. Ruffling her feathers on her back, she drummed her claws against the ground and stomped around in place. Why was Fae in such a dark place? Were they trying to play hide and seek?! She thought Fae could have guessed by now that she could see in the dark! Ugh,really, this was too easy.. but if she really wanted to play.. Pueblo jumped into the air and gave a few silent flutters of her wings, then swooped down to land on the dresser in front of Fae. Nibbling on her keeper's hand gently, she indicated 'I found you!'
Fae jumped and whirled around at the startling hoot. "Hey, Abby," she gently greeted, giving a small smile. Her hand reacting to the nibble, she gently stroked Pueblo's soft head unkowningly that they were playing a game. "Wanna go explore around the beach? Maybe find some seashells and sea sponges?" Quickly changing into her swimsuit, she laid her day clothes out on her bed and looked for a towel.
Pueblo cocked her head, befuddled. Wasn't Fae supposed to hide now? Lowering her ears slightly, afraid that she had messed this order up somehow, the new idea of beach exploring won her attention. Giving a happy trill, she followed Fae up and out onto the nearby beach. * * *
