Yua sat there on the ground her butt in the dirt, as she sighed and leaned back on her hands and looked up at the ceiling, she was so tired of this dank pit, but she needed to endure maybe that was part of the test was to not lose the power of will to go on in this horrible place, Yua sighed again as she sat there and she looked forward at the ground, the one bad thing about spitting water on the ground was turning it to mud, which was getting her disgusting. But now she didn’t care, she was to busy trying to figure out how to get through this whole maze, and also trying to think about what would be in the middle. Yua stepped around the corner again and felt something grab her leg and yank her off the ground as she was yanked upward she tucked her head, so it wouldn’t hit the hard ground, she also felt her scroll fall out from behind her back but she stretched out quickly and managed to grab the end of it. Yua hung there for a moment both hand holding her scroll then she slowly began to pull it up and she huffed a bit looking up at the rope that was holding her up by her ankle, she couldn’t believe she let herself step into a trap like this. Finally Yua hefted the scroll up into her arms and held it with one arm against her chest, then she bent herself up and grabbed the rope with her other hand, she had never been good with rope, not with tying it or escaping from it but this case was simple. Yua simply pulled out a kunai and sliced the rope, above her ankle and since she was already tucked she just rotated a little as she fell and landed on her feet. She smirked as she slide the scroll back onto her back.
Yua smirked looking at the cut rope as it hung above her head. The trap didn’t work because Yua was smart it was designed so when it caught someone it yanked them upwards and caused them to hit their head knocking them out, Yua was smarter and tucked her head in so as not to get knocked unconscious. But this meant someone was setting traps for people, which made Yua very uncomfortable and much more cautious. If she would have gotten knocked out by such a simple trap she would have definitely lost this competition. Yua growled at herself for falling for something this stupid. Yua adjusted the scroll onto her back to make sure it hadn’t gotten unraveled. Once Yua was sure it was in place and nothing wrong with it, she sighed and started moving again she was also annoyed, now this place was really getting on her nervous it was disgusting, muggy and now it had traps in it to, also it was hot as heck down in that place. Yua rounded another corner and started moving as quickly as she could. Yua stopped at another corner and slowly began to peek around the corner.

Yuki ignored the tags, they probably weren't anything that would affect him too much. If they did, that would be a problem, but they haven't done anything yet. He made his way through the maze, trying his best to memorize which direction he went in. Marking the walls would be the first thing anyone would think of when in a maze like this, so therefore there are probably tons of marks along the walls. The thought crossed his mind as he stopped at another four-way intersection. He looked in each direction, while panting, he had been jogging for what seemed like forever. He just wanted out of this damn place. Something caught his eyes as he scanned the markings. There was one where, instead of a similar marking like the rest, seemed to be a burn of some type. Yuki chuckled, "Hisaki! Where are you?!" He called out, hoping he was still close by. He looked in every direction, hoping the goofy Genin was around somewhere. There was no goofy grin in the darkness, nor was there the happy jingling from his hat. Yuki, dejected from his own false hope, growled loudly as he switched directions and sped up to a normal jog...right into a dead end. "Damn it!" He shouted again, staring at the wall in disbelief. Or he thought it was a wall as a barrage of kunai came flying out of the wall at Yuki. He barely had enough time to dodge them as he threw himself onto the ground. Obviously nobody has been around here yet if this trap didn't go off. Then again its a dead end, why would someone be going towards a dead end? The Yamanaka reversed direction and returned to the former intersection with the burn mark from Hisaki. "I'm getting ahead of myself. I need to calm down, and do things slowly." A thought suddenly occurred to him, the tags! However, his thought was drowned out by a sound that was indistinguishable at the moment. Yuki armed himself with a Kunai from his pouch and took a defensive stance, he'd let them come to him before he would strike back. Quote: Failed tags 0 progress 69 lines

Fuyu quickly bolted through hallways, weaving left and right, and sometimes just going in a staight line. He paused for a moment though when he noticed something he wasn't expecting. He could see airflow threw the cracks of the tiles on the floor. He grinned again for two reasons and desided this was where he was going to dispatch of those thugs who tried to out muscle him earlier. He used his chakra control to climb close to the barrier seals and just wait in a high corner out of sight so as he could ambush the attackers. It wasn't long until the smallest male made it through the door he had entered through. He figured that this was good enough time to make his move. With a silent push off of the wall he did a shoulder tackle to his opponents back. He hit just where he was aiming for, sending his adversary into what he thought was a trap. His assumption was right since the pannel turned into a spring, launching the guy into the the air and into the barriar. A shock flew though his body and when he dropped he hit the spring again and flopped over to his back and was out cold. right after that, the female came ruuning in and quickly started to use her hair as a weapon yet again. Fuyu moved as quickly as he could and continued to dodge them. That hair was getting annoying so he desided that she needed a hair cut. Just as she whipped the hair to his face, he lent back and took his blade to her hair. He'd dodged the strike and effectively cut her hair. This blade strong since there were minor dents in the blade. He'd have to sharpen the blade later. The girl was just plain shocked which gave him another reason to figure that it was a strong blade. But he used this moment to make his attack on her. Fuyu rushed her as fast as he could with the blade in his hand. He had no intention on using the blade, just something else. She tried to attack him but it failed as he wieved through the strikes and found his mark, hitting her hard in the face with the grip of the sword knocking her out. Lastly was the largest male, but he didn't hear him. Fuyu looked around trying to find a sign of him but nothing. He shruged his shoulders and started to walk looking for the center seeing as how he'd lost the other person. {180 lines total and all progress gotten}

Quote: Update:
Do to your time spent in the maze you begin to notice a pattern in the halls and traps, figuring out that certain traps in certain shaped halls mean dead ends, while others mean moving more left or right, allowing you to create somewhat of a mental map of where you are in the maze.
All players receive +50 awareness to further progress checks in the maze. (You must have made the check at least 3 times to benefit from this, if you haven't you'll learn after 3 times. Similarly every 3 more checks you make grants another +50 to your checks as you learn more and more about the maze.) Note these bonuses do not count towards tracking other players.

Hisaki rubbed his hand against the wall and sighed, "That's one of my ash marks, isn't it? I either went the wrong way... or this place is a big circle. I'm going to assume its a circle, really." Hisaki looked up and saw the seam in the cave again, and shook his head, "Yep, I came back to where I was..." Hisaki began to continue is walk, vigilant of any chakra signals in the area. Suddenly, he caught sight of one, it was familiar: About the same strength as his, a familiar color, and size. Unfortunately, it was on a hall parallel to his, so it might take some work to check out.
"It's not like I have anything better to do..." Hisaki dashed forward, and quickly got a sight on which paths in the immidiate area would bring him to the signiture. Hisaki rolled to a corner, putting his back to the wall. Others where coming... Hisaki slid around the corner, then sprinted down a path taht would lead to the aura he sought.
Hisaki snuck up to the signature slowly, trying to listen to a sign of who it was, and if was really familiar. There was suddenly a loud snap! The person set off a trap! Hisaki heard the jingling of Kunai and a loud, "Damn it!" Hisaki tracked the signature until it stopped at a crossing, one Hisaki seemingly had put a burn on. The figure said, ""I'm getting ahead of myself. I need to calm down, and do things slowly." Hisaki snapped his fingers, I know who that is! It's Yuki! Hisaki began to walk up, and saw that his friend went into a defensive stance. Hisaki called over to his teammate, "Hey Yuki! That kunai isn't meant for me, is it?"

"How do I know you aren't some type of Genjutsu trick? See those tags? Those are creating some sort of gargantuan Genjutsu to mess with our heads. How do I know you are not one of those?" Yuki snarled, not letting his defense down. "You're going to pull me deeper into the maze and get me even more lost!" His hands were one moment from throwing together handseals, but he hesitated, "Suppose you were Hisaki, you could answer this question easily." He paused, "What is my mother's name?" Yuki knew Hisaki. Hisaki knew Yuki. They have been together since there academy days. In fact, Hisaki is pretty much the only person he has trusted enough to cover him when in a fight. I remember the day in the academy when we had to do the falling trust exercise. Hisaki liked to 'forget' to catch his partner at the time, just to see them fall. About ninety percent of the population probably wouldn't trust him to help them across the street. However, I trust him more than a lot of other people, its weird, isn't it? The two of them have had some moments where they can't stand each other, but in the end, they forgive each other and cooperate once again. Yuki shook his head and angrily shouted, "Answer me!" Erkamina tried to focus on the maze, noticing that certain traps seemed to repeat themselves. The large one that had sent her flying was not a dead-end but the one that made her land on her a** had been. She scrubbed the back of her head softly and continued forward, trying to think as she walked, or more like shuffled now that she was so tired, forward. She rubbed her eyes with the palms of her hands, trying to remain awake for another hour just to finish this maze. She kept telling herself just a few more feet or whatever to prevent herself from going mad but who was she kidding, this maze was impossible- or damn near it. She didn't need to be hopeless in this situation but it almost demanded it. She just needed to get out of this with her sanity intact, which she wasn't entirely sure she had to begin with but now she could feel the edge of her current grasp of sanity come closer and closer to being a figment of her memories. She looked around, trying to find some sign that told her that she was on the right path. Then a scent hit her, it was the scent of food. "Huh? Where'd that come from..." She said as she noticed a wrapped bar in front of her and seemed to smell of food. "Is this some joke? If so I..." Her stomach grumbled again and she surrendered, taking the thing off the ground and taking off the paper wrapping, not caring what, or who, had made it appear there. She just ate it. It was dry but it tasted good and it made her stomach shut up for a moment, for which she was grateful. She kept the wrapper in her pocket, not wanting to litter. Not that anyone would notice it in this hell-hole maze but she had an instinct that told her that she was being watched. After all, how else would food suddenly poof in front of her. She didn't think on that concept too long before she sighed and licked the crumbs off her lips and looked at the walls, noticing a tag missing but not really caring much, it was too far for her to really benefit from its absence. She rubbed her eyes again and shrugged "maybe I'm dreaming..." She said plainly as she fingered the wrapping and turned a corner to find a trail smaller than the others had been. What in the world kind of maze was this? She followed the trail forward, trying to find a way out before her mind really starting playing tricks on her. Maybe she was finally going completely bonkers as this place claimed what was left of her mind. She wanted to scream but she wasn't entirely wanting to be disqualified for losing her sanity so she just kept it in, bottled up against the tired and hungry feelings that were taxing her minuscule patience. That bar was good but it wasn't enough. Her stomach probably wouldn't be satisfied until a large Blue-Fin Tuna was consumed whole, bones and all. And she hadn't had Blue-Fin in some time. She drooled at the thought of the delicacy and continued blindly down the path, food taking her focus away from the insanity-inducing maze. Or at least for a moment. And that was probably what she needed, to just get out of the maze mentally to find the solution physically. Of course she could just end up stumbling into another trap and being knocked out by it too. She was willing to take that chance if it meant food and a nice bed. She yawned at that thought and thought of covers and a pillow, a soft place to lay her sore and exhausted body. She focused on the things that made her desire to find the solution, her mind getting off the paths and their idiotic traps. She just continued shuffle-stepping forwards, her mind repeating its previous complaints of tiredness and hunger. "I get it... Okay!" She thought to her brain as she massaged her temples to get the thoughts to leave her, only to have them get stronger. "No! I will not lose!" She said suddenly, the sound echoing much like her yawns and sighs had before, the walls amplifying the truth of her situation. She grumbled and continued to walk, just trying to get the hell out of here.

Hisaki scratched his head, "You know buddy, I think you've lost it. Maybe we just need to stick an aluminum foil hat on your head or something." Hisaki was caught off guard by Yuki's sudden test of memory. Hisaki didn't have a clue what his mom's name was. It was always 'Yuki's Mom' or 'Yuki's Mother' or 'his Mom', Hisaki never knew his mother's real name. Hisaki thought about chancing it, but came up with a different idea instead, one that would surely prove his identity to Yuki.
"I don't know your mom's name Yuki. But I do know one thing! Yuki's mom has got it goin' on! She's all I want and I've waited for so long!" Hisaki sung as he danced with obvious pelvic thrusts, "Yuki can't you see that other girls ain't for me! I know it might be wrong, but I'm diggin' Yuki's Mom!" Hisaki ended the song with his trademark smile and thumbs up.

Erkamina could feel the end near again, or was it just her sanity that was nearing its end. No, she saw the center before- twice- and she was going to see again, this time as a straight shot ahead. She had a focused look cross her face as she started half-marching- half-shuffle walking- towards the goal that she had in mind, getting her a** out of this maze before she went mad. What she didn't know was that the center wasn't the solution, just the key to the solution. But she didn't care if it wasn't the solution or not, she had to find that center, after all it was the only place she hadn't been. And maybe she could find some food and a place to sleep. If she was lucky, that is. But Erkamina didn't care for luck either, she had no real need for its existence. She just needed deductive reasoning and focus. She covered the first with her marks and the second was being usurped by hunger but she had to maintain her stride to make sure that she didn't go the wrong way again. Two false paths, two traps, and gods knew how many dead-ends and double backs. She was more than ready to get out of here. She just needed focus. Wait, was that the center? Right in front of her! She couldn't believe it so she ran forward to see a straight shot to the center area. She reached the goal and jumped up and down, noticing a circular area in front of her with a bunch of boxes. She counted them and saw only five. She also saw the 'take one' and obeyed, opening a box and taking out the Kanji with a string attached. She nodded and took off her headband, tying the string around the headband's side and tying it back on her head. "It'll be safe up there."

This was one of those moments where Yuki wishes he could rip out Hisaki's throat, without all his icky bits all over Yuki's clothes. Instead of putting the kunai away, he threw it at the obvious Hisaki, but aimed several inches off. He knew his comrade could dodge the kunai throw, so he wasn't worried about his well being. "So, this is our first test in the Chuunin exams? Get through a labyrinth? It seems like, I don't know, that it doesn't take much." He closed his eyes momentarily, "Alright, how long have you been in here? And do you have any idea where to go? I'm going to assume that you do not know anything and that I'll need to lead us out of here." He sighed, slightly frustrated, adopting his mother's temper rather than his father's. When he opened his eyes, he noticed a small glimmer coming from around Hisaki's neck. His face broke out into a mocking smile as he eyed the piece of funny looking jewelry. "Where did you find that garbage around your neck?" The bishop asked his fellow knight. Quote: Failed tags 0 Progress 92 lines

Erkamina figured that it probably wasn't best to stay here so she saw the paths that surrounded the center area and took the one opposite from the one she had just come from, trying to hide from anyone else that was wanting those 'prizes' to get to the next round. After all, she figured there weren't enough for all those participating so hers was a valuable key to something. She didn't mark her paths this time, not wanting to be found or anything, she just tried to find a place to hide. She took a few false turns to fool anyone that was trying to track her, doubling back a few times even if it wasn't a dead end, just to make someone think it was. Then she continued to use this strategy to hide her trail as she tried to find someplace to rest for a while. She probably wasn't the best at stealth or sneakiness but she had to find some way to optimize her chances of getting past the thieves that may be lurking in the shadows. She found a nice place to hide and did so, covering herself in the dirt of the maze to blend in, or at least some what.

Notwen stared at the tags, and looked at another jounin who stood guard. " Wanna take a crack at this bad boy, fella?" he asked while chewing on a toothpick. Notwen picked up a pebble and launched it with his thumb like a marble. As the pebble entered the area that was supposed to be the mouth of the cave, a blue force field appeared and rejected the pebble, which crumpled into dust as it hit the ground. Nowen smiled at the jounin when he saw the man's expression. " I already did. May you please take down that barrier, then walk into the cave to show me that you did?" The jounin walked in front of the barrier. He made a series of hand seals that Notwen couldn't see, then placed his hand over the force barrier. Activating his sharingan, Notwen saw the barrier dissipate in a wave from the jounin's hand. The latter began to walk through the cave mouth. " Suzume Koumyaku!" whispered Notwen. His feet were covered in a veil of heat and chakra, levitating him a few centimeters off the ground. In quick skating motions, he was past the jounin and several feet into the cave. The jounin smirked, walking back out of the cave and reactivating the barrier. " Kids these days, I swear. I hope he survives that maze. We already had to pull out several greenhorns that got careless." Quote: First Progress Check:[90+10(Thermal Knowlege)*2] + 10(Heat Sensing) vs 150 = 210 vs 150 As Notwen progressed through the cave, he noticed the walls become flatter. It soon appeared that he was walking through a tunnel rather than a cave. The boy slowed his pace and checked his surroundings. He could make out the footprints of the several genin that had come before him in the soft ground. There were also markings along the wall. Some were arrows and some were exes. What's with all of these markings? Notwen wondered as he walked along the tunnel, but his foot landed on a tripwire. Huh?! Kunais began shooting out at Notwen from cleverly hidden holes along the wall. The still active sharingan increased Notwen's reflexes, enabling him to easily dodge and weave through the barrage of blades. As a precaution to deal with future traps, he swiped a few kunais from the air and stuffed them in his belt. 58 Event Lines

Hisaki laughed, Yuki's temper was always out of proportion in the most hilarious way. This time was pushing it though, Yuki actually sent a kunai towards his face. Still, the look on Yuki's face was priceless. Hisaki didn't flinch as the kunai flew by his face, but said, "Did the job though, didn't it?"
Yuki then popped a question: "So, this is our first test in the Chuunin exams? Get through a labyrinth? It seems like, I don't know, that it doesn't take much." Hisaki shrugged and lit a cigarette, "Well I've been in here for like an hour or something. I think I got somewhere, but it looks like I went in a circle."
Yuki then asked where the kanji trinket around his neck came from. Hisaki looked at it a second time, "Well, you see... Remember that place I said I found? It's somewhere in the center of the maze. There were a bunch of open chests, and a few closed ones. I figure you need them for the next exam. We should probobly go get you one, huh?" Hisaki turned around, and pointed down a hallway, "That way!" Hisaki stood still, pointing valiantly, then his finger wavered, and his let his cigarette droop, "Wait, not really... That's the wrong way..."
"I mean't that way!" Hisaki pointed another direction, but remembered that direction lead to the trap Yuki went to. Hisaki's shoulders drooped, and he sulked for a moment, "This is the next part of your training Yuki! You are to lead us to the center of the labyrinth!"
