"He probably doesn't remember. I know the older a Spartan gets, the easier it is for them to forget...lets also not forget that he was in Cryo for like 40 years." he nodded, bringing his gaze back down to earth and sighing at her new question.
"Well...let's see...I'm about...33 or 34...minus the cumulative years I've been in cryo as well" he answered without hesitation. He wasn't sure exactly how old that would make him, since a lot of the time the engineers would forget to tell people how long they were sleeping.

Sighing in her own her own bit of relief, she did remember to realize that even with all the cryogenic sleep both Dutch and her father were subjected to....that Dutch wasn't enhanced like Jerome. Thankful for that fact since she was sure that it must have been a shock for her mother to find out the age of her still youthful looking mate. Smiling softly, much like them though his age didn't concern her too much...morso a need to satisfy her curiosity.
"I see, well that's not...." Nariko was cut off as she turned and noticed the figure of the doctor heading towards them on the path. Standing up she gave a polite smile and nodded, walking to meet him. "Hello Doctor..."
"Nariko....it has been a long time! You have certainly....grown." The older fox smiled, adjusting the glasses on his snout. "Come...sit, let me take a look at you and we'll get to your friend." Making his way to the outdoor table, he set down his bag and began to pull out medical equipment, and of course his own notebook to make recordings of his finds and procedures. Nariko moved over to sit on the bench with her back facing the doctor, motioning towards him as she looked to Dutch. "Dutch, this I guess is our family Doctor, Doctor Thello." She introduced, glancing back to see what he was pulling out.

She was about to say something, and his interest was to her, but suddenly she stopped midsentence and stood, walking over to an old codger of a fox. Cockblock he thought bitterly to himself, giving a slight scowl to the doctor as he moved over, engaging in small conversation.
He moved to the out door table just a few feet from where Dutch was. Not wanting to be rude and make the doctor walk, he picked himself up with a groan and hobbled over, noticing he had been introduced. " A pleasure sir." he said in greeting, offering a paw to shake.

Looking up to the likewise taller male, the doctor gave a curt professional nod and shook Dutch's paw. "Dutch was it? It is indeed, I will be with you a moment if you can tell me what's happened. Nariko didn't disclose much over the phone other than a possible laceration and poisoning? I will try and help you to the best of my abilities, though....so please, take a seat." He motioned to the other side of the table from noticing his limp.
"Now Nariko, since I know what we're dealing with on your behalf..." He turned to look at her exposed back as his white eyebrows rose. "Goodness child...." He breathed, looking closely. "This looks like a major electrical burn, likewise radiation. None the less you're lucky it wasn't third degree....I can still treat second without bringing you back to the clinic." He sighed and shook his head, making a few quick notes in his book.
Already smelling some kind of ointment which by looking at Dutch he could assume was a proper burn ointment, he took out a bottle of boiled water and a cloth and began to clean the wounds as delicately as he could while she was still numbed. After finishing with that he applied both an antibiotic and a bottle of Topicure, finishing with some bandaging for now.
"What can I say....dolls weren't really my forte." Nariko mused, feeling the sting of the cleaning but was more concerned about Dutch as he'd hobbled over; glancing his way.

He did as the doctor said, glad he would look at Nariko first rather than him. "Well..I'm sure Nariko doesn't want me telling you, but I think telling you can prepare for possible further injuries." he said giving a the vixen a look of concern about what she would think
"See...we had heard of some troubles along the Eastern shore...and I guess we stumbled there accidentally" he paused to give her a wink when the doctor was scribbling in his note pad. He was going to try and save her face by not saying she had ventured in foolishly.
"Anyway while we were out there, we were attacked by this huge monster that came from the sea. It was going after her at first, but I distracted it, but then it caught me and bit my leg...So Nariko came back to distract it so I could get away and it lashed her with it's...uh..tentacles..." he nodded, suddenly realizing how stupid this story could have sounded to an outsiders opinion.
"Well...I think the creature was an alien..it was too big to be anything I've ever seen and it was capable of using this stuff...uh.. That stuff." he said as he pointed to his helmet. "That was my helmet...but...well....it's all covered..I don't recommend touching it"

Indeed she wasn't too keen on the fact that he would be telling the doctor the embarrassing details of her utter failure; yet as her ears lowered against her hair. She did suppose it was for the better least he was called for similar injuries....but as she caught him looking to her out of the corner of her eyes, she blinked as he winked to her. Smiling softly, she nodded her head and looked ahead, not feeling the need to be so worried at that silent confirmation.
Listening rather intently to the story, the Doctor was quick to finish the wrappings; stopping to write a few things down here and there. However even he couldn't stop himself from looking over in a bit of shock. "Tentacles?" He echoed and looked back to the vixen's wrapped back, certainly they would explain the whip like marks then, plus the fact said marks were the cause of the radiation burns.
"Well Nariko, you're all set. I need you to change these bandages daily for the next four or five days while applying fresh antibiotics and this Topicure after cleaning. It should heal in a few weeks, and your fur should grow back somewhat." He adressed her, handing her the supplies needed before writing the finishing notes in her section before turning to Dutch.
"Now...Lets see this bite." The doctor addressed, walking around the table to start on him. Taking a sparing glance at the helmet, he did seem fascinated but as always the patient was more important. "It gives a mighty good shock." Nariko piped up, turning to lean her elbows on the table. "Hmmm...how did it put that stuff on your helmet? Was it from the tentacles or...." He was beginning to wonder if in fact that substance had infected the wound since Nariko had mentioned a poisoning.

Noticing that he was soon finishing up with Nariko, he looked down to the large gaping hole in his thigh. He couldn't see it very well, but he wasn't sure what the doctor would do to fix it since it wasn't bleeding.
After the elderly fox gave the diagnosis to Nariko, Dutch turned his attention to her and nodded. Thankfully her wounds would be fine in a few days.
"Well...the helmet got that way because the bite I had...I guess had some poison or something in it...and I can't tell you how many times I hurled, but..first was in my helmet..and it was this..blue stuff that hardened, crystallized..and then just..took over...I know that sounds weird but it did happen" he explained, still realizing that the story sounded very stupid still

The Doctor looked from the wound back to the helmet, trying to work around in his mind what exactly he was dealing with. However he was just a doctor and not a scientist, so it did seem a bit beyond his expertize.
"Well if that's what it did to your helmet, I am concerned what it could do to your body." Leaning down he examined the wound, it did look quite painful but it wasn't bleeding in the slightest - in fact it was almost like it was cauterized. "I don't see much I can do here to be truthful to you Dutch, unless you would like me to stitch up the wound so it'll heal properly? However, if you would permit I would like to take a blood sample....perhaps I can test out the toxicity of whatever this substance is?"
Nariko listened as she sighed softly, glad her back was feeling better once more now that a brand new batch of the Topicure was on. Glancing back to the helmet she did wonder why it was such a shock to her and not to Dutch. Was it because of that stuff inside him now from the wound?

He watched the doctor look obviously perplexed and trying to solve the puzzle. If he had no clue about what it was, then who would?
"I guess stitching it up is fine...I'd rather not walk around with an gaping hole in my leg." he sighed, knowing it would probably have to do. He somehow knew that in the back of his head there would be little the elderly fox could do to begin with, but there was always that ray of hope. "Blood test?" he asked as he looked up. "I guess so...maybe it could help" he said as he reached for the pack. He figured that if the doctor was sewing up his leg, then he could draw the blood himself...it wouldn't have been new to him.

"Hopefully if we can run it in the lab we can at least have some results for you on the makeup of whatever it is....we should have results back within a few days." The doctor smiled gently, taking out the needle and stitching as well as some numbing lotion as he took a seat down beside Dutch. He could gather that it must have been he who had put the prior cream on Nariko and thus didn't mind him drawing his own blood. Rubbing the gel onto the surrounding area; he waited a minute or two before getting on with the stitching....making quick work since it was usually what he was called for anyways around these parts.
Standing up from Dutch's side, he began to deposit the items back into his bag in the appropriate places with a smile. "Well there we have it...."
Nariko smiled, although looked away with purpose as Dutch was going to take his blood...not that she minded but it did give her the weird feeling watching needles like that. "Thanks for coming on such a short notice, Doctor."

It took him a moment to peal off the surrounding armor and the undersuit away so he could get at his elbow. Fortunately with as tight as the fabric was and with it constricting his arm considerable, a tournequet was not necessary, so he tapped his arm around the inside of the joint until he saw a blood vessel appear. He the area with a numbing agent and quickly sticking the needle in. A grimace appeared on his face. As many times as he had drawn blood, he never liked the sensation.
As the vial filled slowly he about froze when he saw the blood was not red, but in fact blue. "I don't think your going to have a problem with that Doc....." he stated as he pulled the needle out, letting the pin p***k bleed a bit before putting a cotton ball over it an taping it down. Then removed the needle tip from the vial and sealed it, staring at the alien blue contents of it. "That's..........just not..." He couldn't find a way to finish it, so he just handed the vial over to the doctor and noticed he too was finished.
"Thank you sir. I hope you have some luck with the results." he said in a nod, starting to put the under suit back over his arm along with the armor

Once the Doctor was handed the vial, his eyes widened as he looked at the blue contents of what should have been a red vial of blood. "....My w-word...." He studdered and stared a few moments, as if trying to work it out to little avail before allowing his eyes to shift to linger to the pair. He knew it would be unwise to give any premises on false hope....but he knew he would try his best to solve what he could from this. "I should take my leave then, and hurry with my final patient and return this to the lab." He noted as he tucked the vial safely away in a container then into his bag.
"You are most welcome Dutch, Nariko. I will contact you soon." And with a wave, he headed down the path in a quickened pace than that he came.
Waving a short goodbye, the vixen whipped her head to Dutch and gave him a look of shock and horror as she stood, making her way to sit beside him. "What the hell was that! Do you think that stuff has taken over your blood like it did your helmet! What if it hardens...." Although she didn't mean such a look to leak onto her face, it was clear she was concerned....especially with what they'd seen this stuff do.

Concerned was an understatement at this point. As soon as the doctor was confused, he had lost all hope of knowing. But it clicked a bit with him. "I hear there is a robot alien in the shop. Rumor has it he knows about this stuff. Maybe you should ask him?" it was a long shot, but if he was an alien robot, he was sure to know something right?
"A pleasure doctor" Dutch said in goodbye, turning to see Nariko move over to him with a concerned look..something that now had him worried. "I don't know........we will just have to find out "

Nariko didn't like not knowing things that were important, especially when it was about someone....important. She wished she had the answers, or even a better clue...but she was sure no book or text she could gather would help at all in this circumstance since they weren't even sure what the creature was to begin with. Sighing in frustration she slumped forwards to put her elbows on her knees and head in her paws, knowing it would eat her alive until the test results came back.
"I hate waiting..." She grumbles and turned her head to glance to Dutch out of the corner of her eye. "Well...now that we've accomplished what we set out to do....what are your plans now?" More importantly, she wondered....what was up with them now? It already settled an uneasy pit in her stomach that she tried not to give away with her expression that uncertainty.

He watched Nariko for a moment, wondering what exactly would happen between them now, but as soon as she sighed in frustration and schlumped over, he averted his gaze, now wondering what he should do. His wandering days were over for the time. There was no way he could walk such great distances with his leg being...well..at the moment, injured.
Then she spoke up. Words he was already pondering, he thought it over more for a moment before finally replying. "I don't know I won't be able to walk far. And I have no place to sleep. So I suppose I'm stuck here" he sighed. He wasn't happy with this final verdict...but what choice did he have
