"How far did you have to go to reach the river," Jaci asked. Overprotective parents usually kept their kits away from fast-flowing water, but if she'd had to travel far then her father should have found her before she reached the water. Phims and their ability to fly, and all that.
Her curiousity stemmed from the fact that rages bored her. Parents scolding, or worse, fussing, bored her even more. She'd rather not have to be on the recieving end of any of that in case Sephy's father showed up before she left.

"ah well not that far. we got really thirsty so we where around the river to get some water. Dont worry dad isnt scary or anything. He's a big plushie." Persephone nodded. "although he might start the lecturing and bath later when you guys are no longer around" she scrunched up her nose at this thought.

Jaci screwed up her face in an expression that was somewhere between sympathetic and horror-struck. She walked over to Sephy and bumped her with her head. "I feel for ya. You can always stay with me until you grow your wings to escape."
Baths could be horrible, but lectures! Jaci almost shuddered at the thought.

"I would take you up on your offer if dad wasn't sooo much bigger than us." Persephone said shaking her head. "He's even bigger than Horus" she pouted. "but the grump misters are even bigger than he is." she shuddered. Lectures she could handle you could tune those out. Baths on the other hand where.... ugh she shuddered at the thought.
Horus watched the two and looked over at the side holding in the snickers that threatened to leap forth.

Jaci cast a glare over at Horus. Her natural abilities for sarcasm and bullying helped her pick out other tormenters. And Heru looked suspciously like he was enjoying the plight of the two females. She turned her attention back to Sephy.
"Don't matter how big winged guys get, if they can't find you. For that matter, it's actually very hard to find a kit that doesn't want to be found, if ya know where to go." And if all else failed they could escape in the river. Go down deep enough and big critters with clumsy wings could never catch you. Of course, there was the issue of breathing, but Jaci had more than a few tricks up her figurative sleeve.

"yeah that would be the case normally but dad he's... he's like a ninja" Persephone cried before deciding to just bury her head in the sand. Her dad had this canny ability to sneak up on pretty much anyone and appear out of no where. She was going to find out one day how he did it.
Horus just smiled back at the grin he was given. It wasnt exactly their predicament more the expressions on their face.

Jaci snorted. "He might be an air ninja, but I'm a water ninja! Once I hit the water they might as well give up, they'd never catch me!" She could see the downside to this though. While she was a very good swimmer, Sephy wasn't. Oh, she was fair decent enough not to drown herself, not in the slower-moving waters anyway.
There was no way she'd be able to teach the other kit what was needed before her father came calling. Plus, sadly, Sephy was a phim; unfortunate creature would never be able to use the techniques taught to her after she grew her wings. Neither phims' or daevas' wings were suited for the wet.
Jaci sighed gustily. "I guess you're right. You'd never learn it all in time, anyway."

"yeah... but maybe later I could come back when I'm full grown with wings and go swimming again... birds can dive and swim as well. I've seen those ducks and seagulls swim" Persephone tried to add on a more happy note. "plus you might be one but I'm definitely not a water ninja I need to breathe a lot." she slightly pouted and went back to the ostrich look

Jaci shook her head. "Some birds just dive to catch food then come back up, or stay on the surface. Birds that swim under water have feathers made for it. They usually can't fly."
Deep down Jaci would miss Sephy when she was gone. Horus was cool, but just not as playful as the lightning-patterned kit. And Jaci liked to play!
While Sephy was distracted by the sand, Jaci pounced on her.

Persephone busy trying to hide from the world suddenly found herself rolling across the beach being the unfortunate victim of pouncing. her response to this was to start giggling like crazy, because she could get away with it. One she was little, and two she was a girl.

Jaci had a mouthful of ear (not biting too hard) and was mock growling. After rolling she had landed about half on and half off Sephy, her body laying on top of Sephy's front paws and chest. Inside she was giggling as much as Sephy. This was fun!

"yep I'll definitely have to come back later. I would ask you to come with us but we climb on dad and fly around a lot and you dont like heights." Persephone said sadly. "We'll even drag Horus over there along too"

"Okay," Jaci said, a little sadly. She disentangled herself from Sephy, golden eyes staring at her a little sadly. "Do ya gotta go now?"

"Nope. Daddy isnt here" Persephone smiled mischievously. "and I was in that river for a while. Who knows where I ended up. So I will stay until he shows up"
"well until then you guys should keep on playing. No use in sitting around here moping." Horus pointed out.

Jaci eyed Sephy with some misgiving. "You swam like a rock," she said, quite blunt. "How long could you have stayed in the water without going under?"
