Spelling/Grammar5 - 3.5
Leonard's spelling was fine and sometimes his grammar was alright. However, compared to Krausse having little if no problems with grammar and spelling it just wasn't enough. Add to that the constant use of run-on sentences and he gets three and a half'd.
Conciseness/Writing Ability3 - 2
They both had a decent writing scheme, though Krausse wasn't perfect with regards to being concise. It wasn't a writing scheme that wowed me in terms of how effectively they communicated the details of his post, but it was decent. You don't score high simply for posting a decent length post.
That being said, Leonard gets a lower score because his actions were a lot harder to follow. He spent more time describing his actions than needed, which just didn't carry the flow well.
Rolepalying3.5 - 3.5
Krausse was somewhat entertaining, and tried just a bit harder than a three. This is good, because threes are for people who try just a bit harder than the base-line.
Leonard tried a bit, too, but it wasn't enough for me to get the feel of his character. But he gets the three and a half for sheer synergy with his opponent and being a good sport in not denying the damage done to him.
I'd give them both a 4, but I reserve 4 for "very good" and 5 for "excellent". This was moreso "good" and "decent".
Creativity/Strategy3 - 2.5
Krausse was decent, again. Nothing really wowing, and although using the light reflecting off of his weapon was creative, it wasn't exactly without faults. They're just faults that Leonard didn't pick up on. I don't care how shiny your blade is, at fifty yards the light reflecting off of it is not going to cause temporary blindness good enough for you to clear said distance before your oppoent regains compos mentis and reacts. There were also problems with his battoujutsu, but again, Leonard couldn't pick up on it and rolled with it for the most part.
Leonard, on the other hand, had poor strategy (such as not making proper use of his supposedly lighter shield or sitting down to cauterize his wound while his opponent was ready to attack again). And although his abilities were outlined in his profile, something just felt off about this whole "making copies of his shield" thing. Though i'm not really faulting him on the ability itself...just how he used it. It was creative, yes, in that his missed javelin would come back to hit his opponent. But not only did it not work, it nearly backfired on him. And instead of working with it, he dispelled it entirely as if to hand-wave it. I dont even think I saw mention of his ability to dispell his weaponry.
Control of the Fight4 - 2
Leonard gets a 2 for the effort and not quitting, but ultimately it was Krausse who won the fight. I wouldn't call it utter domination since he gave his opponent his sweet time to recover, but he effectively controlled the fight nonetheless.
