Quicksilver ~ Ionymh Titanie
Ionymh rolled over in her dorm bed, curling into a fetal position. She wore a silver band around her neck, a shimmering black ribbon interwoven with silver that tied at the nape of her neck. It trailed to her back dimples, little bells at the ends of the string; it controlled her magic so she didn't have to constantly focus on her body temperature to keep herself a solid entity. She had multiple silver bangles on her ankles, and a hematite armlet encircling her right arm. Her black sari with glass encrusted beads had sheer material that allowed for the toned contours to be seen, while mysterious shapes and shadows whirred under her skin: living tattoos of souls she had rescued. They slowly spun, trying to comfort their wearer into focus. It was time to get up. Her eyes fluttered open, and she at the hand resting aft her nose, the sheets blurring in focus behind into a grey tangled mass. It almost could be home, her moon of mercury, Titan, if she just pretended.
She shrugged this nostalgic notion away. She swung her feet over the side of the bed, anklets and bells jingling. She dipped two fingers into her jar of mercury, licking it from her fingers as her other hand reached for a brush, tangling out her locks into a shine, her henna's gold and sienna's shifting under the light. She grabbed her fringed leather paperboy bag with her books, heading off for her first class of the day: combat. She was already excellent at the subject matter, but if was part of the core requirements that you couldn't test out on. She was looking forward to getting some energy out. She stifled a yawn. It had been a late night of studying theological history. There were too many gods to keep up with, where all she cared about was her surrogate father, Ninib.
"There's no time for that now. Now or ever" She muttered, flustered to herself, her bare feet dodging with little flits and flicks amongst the throngs of students, her shifting eyes downcast.
