-LOL- Despite his serious situation, the ZOID did have a slight sense of what humor was. Didn't understand most of it but the wording used for retreat was amusing enough.

-Jury would want to keep me down, but the Executioner would prefer if I was operational in the long run. I know her secrets and her tricks.- The messages paused for a moment. Nick had made it out of the temple, but was quickly extracted by the Executioner herself.

Blaze lept back again to avoid the on coming horde than dropped his anchor talons once again. He let out a roar as his maw begun to glow with the beam's charge.

-The Jury has my pilot now...-

Once again the timer rolled forward quickly. This time the numbers turned red as the timer reached four minutes. On the horizon a dark cloud mass loomed over the trio. The strange banshee/horse shriek of the jury shook the ground as it and the Executioner sounded its arrival.

Above nineteen groups of seekers, each of the three carrying one striker in its talons, speed toward the battle grounds.

"They plan to drop the strikers onto your ZOIDs, keep an eye out, from those heights they can cut right through your ZOID as if it were paper." Atelius dove toward one of the groups in hopes to catch them off guard.

Zutnic latched onto the ZOID tighter. "Rat, Zutnic have idea!! Good idea make brothers attack obliterators and other brothers! Make you one with ZOID, quick quick, I tell you more when you make one!! All organoid can make one yess?!" Zutnic hissed excitedly. Atelius was stunned that the simple minded striker actually had a good plan this time.

"obliterators and strikers are not coordinated without a seeker telling them what to do. Eliminate the Seekers and they will frenzy... and be an easier target for you both." A familiar voice spoke of the voice-link from the Jury.

"He might be more capable, but that doesn't make him invincible," he pointed out. But Talon had a point there. They couldn't be sticking around for too long. As of yet he hasn't spotted any chance to break away though.

Shun then raised an eyebrow as it appeared that Blaze had a sense of humor. He was quite an interesting zoid indeed. But he didn't have a lot of time to muse over his sentience and continued with a sort of hit and run tactic to gather up the Obliterators. It wasn't going to last much longer, seeing how more enemies were coming in.

Grimacing, he took note of Atelius's warning. Running around the ones on the ground was relatively easy, but the Seekers were most likely faster than their grounded brethren.

"Oh! Oh! Yes! I can do dat! Good idea Zut!" chattered the organoid excited before promptly fusing with Fang's core. While he didn't want to get hurt in battle, he did want to be of more use, so he was rather eager to hear what the striker's plan was.

Hearing the familiar voice, Shun's eyes widened somewhat. Though Blaze said Nick had gotten out and was picked up by the Executioner, he hadn't expected her to speak with them. Not that he was going to complain seeing how she had advice for them.

"Roger that." He thought of calling her Captain again, but decided against it for the time being.

Talon grumbled to himself, " Seriously, someone needs to diagram this Court... Too confusing. Doesn't seem organized..." He blinked and processed something Shun had said. No ZOID, being, or what not was invincible. "Nothing is. Especially with these odds right now. "

But the news that the pilot of Blaze was out of the temple was great news. Talon pulled up the map and spot that had been marked as the weakest surface point. Though, how weak it was was debatable. He hadn't asked for actual numbers on that since he figured a good blast from a Charged Particle Beam would be good enough to collapse and take as many with the rubble as possible.

Of course, he hadn't taken into account the time it would take to dance in circles to keep from learning how a marshmallow felt when introduced to a campfire. Hungry kidletts not included. These unknown factors he didn't like at all. "Fantastic..." Talon spat as news of Seekers carrying Strikers was delivered. But that weight would slow the Seekers down... and if Tyrant could manage the shot, there was a potential to not only take out a maximum total of three Seekers, but they could possibly down the number of Strikers as well.

Talon was quite interested in this new development.

Though, suddenly he was a little skeptical of this when the voice of the rather interesting woman that seemed to have placed this upon him ( Atelius really, but he was in a blaming mood at the moment. ) came over the system. Well, she seemed well.

The Tyrant let out a hiss, and turned its sights to the sky for a quick moment, firing to the sky's in a random pattern not really meant to hit anything. Seriously... Talon just wanted to see how quick three Seekers with one Striker were to react... Course it was difficult since he had to balance shooting to the sky and kiting around and blasting Obliterators that tried to melt armor.

... Probably should be paying some attention to what Shun and his posse was doing, but Moe and Cuddles was on that, he assumed. Though the two were kinda still clinging to each other in horror and shock. Thankfully there was no 'ink' on the floor of the compartment.

Atelius' dove with his beak pointed downward and his wings pulled in tight for maximum speeds. His target was the center of the triangle formation of the seeker group. As he speed by two of the three dropped their strikers prematurely. They broke from the group, but circled back around unharmed.

The dropped strikers tucked around their bodies and begun to spin like a saw as instructed. They wouldn't hit anything but sand, but at least now the group had an idea of what was going to be tossed at them.

The group Atelius attacked charged after him as he swooped lower toward the Tyrant. The one that still had the striker lagged behind the other two.

Zutnic detached his tails from the ZOID than stuck them up vertically. He became too distracted to explain what he was doing, but it became obvious within moments of his tail movement. A strange signal was sent to the Strikers the Seekers were caring. Forty-two of the fifty seven wiggled free of the seekers and dove toward the ground and the Obliterators. A screen popped up to the right of Shun showing the orders being sent from his ZOID to the new minions. -attack obliterators-

"Master, Zutnic make them listen to you! well... rat do too. Make them do things telling Zutnic and Rat and Zutnic make mind thought for them to do it."

Blaze's vents hissed with steam as his systems cooled from the last beam.

The voice link fuzzed a little. Nick had to time her messages very carefully. The Executioner was present and slipping things past her was not an easy task.

"There is a-" the com fuzzed again. "-where the temple-" the voice cut off than fuzzed. "-strike.... will explode-" it fuzzed for the last time before cutting off the rest of the sentence.

Nick looked at the screen wide eyed after her second message was blocked by the Jury. Blaze? He wasn't destroyed!? And with some... upgrades. God he looked like Kagi... But, if Blaze was there... Titus might be as well...

The possibility caused Nick's heart to sink with fear.

"Well at least that seems to be working for us," Shun noted on the disorganization comment Talon made. This especially seemed true when Zutnic had teamed up with Bent to send the strikers against their fiery brothers.

"Good work guys," he said to the two before Nick's broken message came on through. Something about some part of the temple and an explosion. It was hard to figure out what exactly it was she was suggesting here.

With a frown, he took a quick glance around the battlefield to see if anything stood out. As he did so, Fang took a swipe at some nearby Obliterators with his big metal paw. There wasn't anything that he was able to see aside from Talon firing at some of the Seekers in the sky.

"Atelius, do you see anything in the area that might be what Nick referred to?"

Talon, ignoring the tiger for the time being, watched as the bird... his bird charged the others.. He also noticed that the striker curled into a ball with all its sharp bits out and exposed. It reminded him of a buzz saw, but then he had to focus. Tyrant brought up the sites ( which were kinda inaccurate at the range he was going to be firing at...) and fired a little more accurately at the Seeker lagging. One less bird meant one less coordination possibility.

The Tyrant stomped backwards, and Talon opened fire on the Seekers that were following Altelius. The bird was smart enough to keep out of the line of fire. Ooh..intelligent things, he loved them.

The radio fuzzed caused Talon to frown. The incredibly cryptic message made him suddenly curious to these motives of Nick. He was about to say something when he noticed that it was pretty much raining Strikers... and the strikers weren't attacking him! A head tilt and a confused blank stare at this new image was the reaction. "Shun...when did we get an army? "

...The Tyrant stomped and swatted and fired at the Obliverators some more. The prospect of something exploding was fantastic. It meant big distraction, but that also meant that it could potentially harm the pilots and their accomplices. Making a broad assumption and mentally trying to fill in the blanks, he came up with something along the lines of collapsing the ruins meant closing the openings, which meant causing quite a few Salamanders to combust/overheat.

... Darn desert storms...never there when you needed them!

"We still need to get out of here...The cloud is too close for my comfort. "

The lagging Seeker Talon shot at had no time to maneuver around the shot. In a last effort it dropped it striker and tried to bank left, but was amusingly unsuccessful. Atelius dove lower so that the other seekers perusing were now at level with the Raptors arms and blades. He seemed to have a much better speed and maneuverability than the others, which worked nicely to his advantage.

"No, the temple is miles under... I cannot see anything that would cause an explosion other than the obliterators themselves."

The remaining fifteen strikers not being controlled by Zutnic were dropped toward the Raptors and the Tiger.

All the strikers that were dropped early uncurled from their fetal positions and begun to swarm single targets viciously. Thirty two of them had managed to eliminate an obliterator from the fall, and none received a scratch from the miniature explosions.

The fog begun to stretch on either side of the group. It was doing what the obliterators were attempting, encircling the trio and closing in. With the Fog this close any ZOID would have been frozen completely, yet the three had not. However the maps and communications would soon begin to experience malfunctions.

Blaze hissed as locked eyes with the Jury's.
-Good human luck pilots....- Blaze messaged the two before his communications went down.

Nick closed her eyes and took a deep breath. There was one thing she could do that the Judge and Executioner were unaware of...

The Jury jolted a little as the Executioner detached itself from the core than landed on the head of the ZOID. The Pilots would be able to see a white, blue, red, and green glow as the organoid extended her arms.

"Just now when Zutnic and Bent-Tail gave them some new orders," answered Shun with a faint smirk. Judging the number of explosions that occurred soon after the strikers rained down onto the Obliterators, he could only assume that the attack was fairly successful. And now a similar attack was being performed on Fang and the green Raptor.

While he did what he could to avoid the razor sharp falling creatures, Fang did not come away unscathed. Nothing too critical was hit thankfully such as the cockpit or the core, but a part of the saber's rump had taken a decent blow.

Shun was about to answer Talon on the matter of needing to leave, but it was then that communications had begun to jam. Cursing lowly to himself, he stared over where the Jury stood, spotting the colorful glow of what appeared to be an organoid standing on the big Zoid's head. He thought of trying to take a crackshot at it, but seeing how it was likely standing on top of the cockpit where Nick was, it would be too risky to attempt.

Narrowing his eyes, he tried to motion at Talon by basically tossing Fang's head to try and say "this way!" before beginning to run towards the area where the fog would likely close in last. Along the way, he tried to shoot down anything in his path. Unfortunately, the damage Fang had taken earlier on had cut down his maneuverability.

"Fancy that... the Swiss Army knife had a good plan. " He snickered softly. That was slightly impressive. Slightly. Well, majorly considering Zut really wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box when it came to intelligence.

The Tyrant let out a loud hiss, the sythes came out, locked into basic attack position and managed to take out the two Seekers that had 'accidentally' followed Atelius into that dangerous airspace. Well, it had required some fancy hand work with the rather smaller upper limbs, but the claws were just as strong as the blades and toes.

Sensers indicated that something was falling from the sky. Talon hissed and trained his guns to the sky...Course it was kinda hard to hit a spinning blade. He figured it was better to just bolt from the area instead of waiting for it to hit. He didn't want to fix any more unnecessary damage... This was when Moe and Cuddles got things together and started panicing about the black fog.

Static was heard over the comms. And broken words. Apparently the communications were going down. Time to leave.

Talon whirled the bipedial Rapter around and sustaned some damage to the tail. Nothing too major since it was taken while turning, but it was enough to make Talon remember that he'd have to apologize to Tyrant later. He caught site of the glowing organoid. A shiver ran up his spine. Time to go.

The Raptor didn't need to be urged to get out of there. Shots were fired to keep the way clear... Talon did take note that the Sabre looked a bit more worn than his own, but it seemed speed hadn't been effected. Which was a good thing.

"You cannot run from me that easily humans..." The Executioner hissed through the fog. It would sound as if she whispered the words right behind the two pilots. Her voice elderly and cruel.

The fog speed ahead of the retreating group to complete the circle. As soon as the path was blocked the battling court members slowly begun to 'sleep'. Save for the seekers, those rose to higher altitudes. All but the nine that Tyrant had managed to strike down with his talons and blades... and Atelius.

Both Zutnic and Atelius shut down as well. Zutnic detached from the ZOID and was unable to remain on its neck as the saber speed off. He tumbled to the sands within moments. Atelius fell from the sky just as he managed to dodge the talons of a fellow seeker.

Before Atelius went down he was able to send a last warning, to Talon only, of another massive ZOID underground awakening. He had been unable to sense it as the ZOID had incredible stealth abilities. That and the ZOID had been unconscious until now.

Blaze roared at the organoid aggressively. His blades extended and his head lowered.

((BTW, this isn't the treat... 8D But yay unfinished Saga!))

The Sands closest to the Jury stirred as the ground rumbled. Than the sands exploded upward as the massive ZOID breached the surface. The legendary Saga of the former Chimera gang thought to have been slaughtered over a year ago. Its size was even greater than the republic's gojulas and nearly the size of the true death saurers of the Empire. (How it remained and moved underground was a mystery...)

The plus side of this ZOID's appearance, it too seemed to have a vendetta against the Jury.

The words of the Executioner sent a chill down Shun's spine. With a grimace, he brought the Saber Tiger to a halt as the fog cut his path off. As he backed away, he took note that the tiny metal army all around seemed to be shutting down more or less. Most likely Zutnic and Atelius would be affected in a similar manner.

"Zutnic, you still there?" he asked, unsure if the Striker was still with him. Even then, he wasn't even sure if Zutnic would be able to hear him with the communications system down.

Soon after he had asked that, what sounded like a large explosion came from behind. The soldier quickly looked back towards the Jury to see a large, angry Chimera Zoid appear. There was only one Zoid he knew of that was like that, which brought the question of why the rogue would be here of all times. Though, considering the fact that the Chimera appeared to have a grudge against the Jury, he wasn't going to complain.

Now facing the Jury fully, Shun watched carefully to see what would happen. With their exit plan currently cut off, they had to stick around and duke it out. Quite frankly, he felt he and Talon were a little under equipped for this particular battle. But they'll have to make due somehow..

A low growl came from deep within Fang/Bent-Tail's throat. They didn't like being cornered like this at all.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 06, 2010 7:10 pm

Talon watched in horror as the fog closed off their only escape route. The Tyrant let out a defiant chorus of roars and spun around to face this being that was preventing him from leaving. It was a futile attempt, but its stubborn streak won over common sense. The cruel, whispered words created a grimace to appear on Talon's face.

Yay. Lady Luck was here. She seemed like she was in a wonderful mood.

At least the army seemed to be shutting down. Talon watched in fascinated horror as Seekers fell from the sky onto the battlefield above the ruins. This brought attention to a particular Seeker, Atelius, falling as well. Well... this was great.... Thankfully Talon did get the message that there was something under the ground rising.

The rise of the Chimera Zoid brought a small gasp out. He had never seen a Zoid like that. Ever. And it appeared to be on the same side as they were. Which was against the Judge at the moment.

Talon urged the Tyrant closer to the Sabre Fang, simply because it seemed logical. Well not really. If stray fire came that way, Tyrant was a little more maneuverable than the Sabre...nothing against Shun or anything like that. And well...he figured that the signal strength of communications would be stronger if he was closer just in case.

Moe and Cuddles were glued to the monitor as well, though Cuddles looked to be more gung ho and ready to storm out and teach someone a lesson. If Moe went with him which wasn't going to happen. Ever.

The Executioner chuckled at the two ZOIDS. Her four arms moved close to her chest than extended again as the Jury let out a screech. A wave of black fog engulfed both Blaze and Saga and continued toward the saber fang and the rev raptor.

As the wave past the court members they stood and faced the two only other humans, aside Nick, in the area. Their eyes had changed from a solid red or blue or green to constantly changing between the four colors of Executioner's arms. Their eyes now reflected the Executioner's own ever changing eyes.

Two of which, a Striker and a Seeker, stood up with the rest, but kept their own eye color.

Zutnic let out a hiss/chirp as he charged toward the Saber Fang. As he drew near he begun to glow red. The closer Zutnic got to the ZOID the more the control panels and cockpit of the ZOID begun to glow the same color. Soon the exterior of the ZOID was engulfed in the same red light. Zutnic slammed into the ZOID and vanished into the red light by the time the ZOID's appearance was unrecognizable.

Atelius screeched as he took off into the air. Like Zutnic he begun to glow, only a green color. Talon's cockpit and ZOID would become engulfed in a green light. Its frame would be unrecognizable as well as the seeker vanished into the light.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:18 pm

The screech of the Jury was never a pleasant thing to hear. And sure enough Blaze and the Chimera were soon out of their sight as the black fog seemed to devour them. It wouldn't be long before he and Talon were in it as well.

If that wasn't bad enough, the court members were awakening once again. Whatever the Executioner had done with them, it probably wasn't a good thing. Perhaps she was able to control them all as one now or something like that. But there were two in the crowd that caught his attention, partially because they were quickly zooming straight for the soldiers.

Bent-Tail chattered nervously from within the Zoid's core, unsure of what Zutnic was doing.

Shun didn't have much more of a clue as everything around him began to glow red. Between all the red from his own machine, and the immense amount of green light from the Raptor next to him, he was blinded.

"What the hell is going on?" he hissed as he shielded his eyes from all of the colorful brightness.

It was truely bone chilling, blood curdling..and the sceen before Talon was one truly out of a horror movie directors pleasant dreams. In short, Talon set his jaw and pretty much braced himself for a rather slow and painful death.

Moe was chirping and trying to get Talon's attention at this point for something or other, but it seemed like this time Talon wouldn't be bothered by the cute, adorable, pleading squeaks. ( It was mostly because Cuddles was passed out on the floor in a puddle of oil from too much stress. Moe wanted this fixed right away, but apparently the situation outside required more attention.) Moe pouted and took to hiding next to the Rapter's annotated manual.

The flashing lights amongst the sea of eyes was quite unnerving. But the two solid dots of color was sort of reassuring....before they seemed to be speeding towards them. Them being the Raptor and the Sabre. Everything seemed to start glowing. Talon was unsure about this new change. Then again, it looked like he hadn't much of a choice in the matter. He covered his eyes with his arms to protect them from the bright light, and was quite sure he was a goner.

But then again, there was this adjustment of height as well as several control changes and a few more panels appearing out of nowhere... This was all noted when the light passed... And even then Talon really hadn't a clue what to say...though Moe was squawking about something or other that there was a new book next to the original manual that was surprisingly squishy.
