“Excellence is not a singular act, but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do.”

Kagura ignored the fact that Kay had thrown up, but thought the woman no weaker for it and felt some sympathy. She had never been known to throw up and that didn't change now. When Kay held out the makeshift weapon Kagura took the broom/spear and held it tight. What was she going to do with it? Well..she could attempt to use it. She might end up lacking finesse and skill but she might be able to save her life. Nodding to herself she followed Kay. Their odds went up drastically by being together.

Kaileigh suddenly felt her panic that she'd been trying to drown down in her system escape her for a couple fleeting seconds making her body straighten in panic like it always did when she knew she was about to fall or be forced in one of her fears. She stumbled backwards as the feeling quickly left as fast at it had come. She eventually hit the wall of the hall letting it be her stablizer as she looked at everyone else one by one to see if maybe it hadn't just been her. But looking around everyone seemed to be fine. "Fine," said Kaileigh looking down in embrassment this didn't seem to her day for controlling her emotions.

Amelia Reikart
What, you didn't hear me?

Amelia looked past the Lieutenant at the two girls, as they seemed panicked. But their panic seemed to go away as soon as it started. She blinked. What had happened? It seemed to be in corrolation with the Lieutenant's shock. When one of the girls asked her to speak up, she cleared her throat. Had she really spoken so quietly before? "I said, I could take those collars off of you," she said, much more clearly, and loud enough to be heard. It was then the vomit smell hit her. She almost threw up again. She covered her nose and shuddered. She would have to clean that up later...

Kay Georgiy
Heads or tails?

The room by room search wasn't going good. It had been all offices and cupboards, reaching all the way to the end of the hall. There was a stairwell at the end which could go either up or down. Sighing, Kay rubbed her neck where the collar was rubbing it. "I'm not sure that we could pick this lock. Feel the very back of your collar. That indent? That's your keyhole. Must be something to get these off though..... Up or down? What floor should we search next?" If she had had a coin at that moment, Kay wouldn't have asked the question at all. She would have flipped for it instead. This was the next best thing though. Down the stairs was where all the labs were, but up was where the nearest key was being kept. The key was in the very lab that Amelia had came from. The choice however lay with Kagura.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Two guards half jogged round the corner to see what had happened to their comrade. What they found instead was three immortals, a hostage in the form of one of the lab workers, and their comrade lying next to death on the floor. Taking no chances they immediately turned on their emmiters to reduce any magic within ten feet from their padded armour. "Unhand the woman and get on the floor." Readying their rifles they loaded them with non-leathal rounds. Unfortunately, they would still hurt.

Jayna whipped around to face the guards. "Shite!" Her eyes widened in surprise for a split second then she slid easily into the same ready stance she had taken earlier. Flicking her gaze over the guards, she took ini the circumstances of the situation. The guards had armor; she didn't. They had rifles; neither she nor Kaileigh did, but Jansen had taken one from the guard on the ground. The guards were uninhibited, and the three Immortals had collars on that kept them from using their abilities. Not the best odds, but they'd just have to make it work.

Amelia Reikart
Are you people stupid?! Lower your weapons!

Amelia tensed as she heard the heavy footsteps of guards. She turned swiftly, a bit wobbly, as the gruff voices sounded, and her eyes widened at the sight of raised rifles. She knew the bullets were non-lethal, but they sure would pack one hell of a punch if you got hit. "What the heck are you doing, idiots?! Put those rifles down!" She shouted, a bit panicked, but also angered. They were talking as if she was a hostage, or an object. Heck, the immortals hadn't even touched her! The anger made her tremble, but also firmed her limbs, making her posture stronger, her legs no longer making her wobbly.

Kael Fenrir
'Bloody ******** hell..."

Kael heard the commotion that had been going on and sprinted down the stairs. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Kay and Kagura searching for a way to remove the contraptions that were around their necks.
"Well, well, well... Hello again my lovelies... Looking for this?..." He said as he smirked and held up the key that was attached to a long chain that was around his neck. Knowing that they were searching for it to unlock their shock collars. Kael stepped a little closer as he kept the key in his hand. As soon as he reached them, Kael unlocked the collars amd let them drop to the floor.
"Now you two get the ******** out of here before you and I regret it..."

Kagura thought on it and crouched to the ground. She put her palm hard on the floor and got ready for the pain. This wasn't something she could turn off so it would happen no matter what the collar did. So as the images assaulted her and the collar sent a shock through her she quickly searched for the answer. She demanded the answer of the images and as she got it the shock went up. Kagura held in her scream and fell backwards onto the ground. She had needed to use some power to get the specific answer. Taking a moment to breathe she memorized the directions. Slowly she sat up, and then stood shaking slightly.

"We go up....there will be a lab...that has the way to remove the collars." She was panting as she spoke. Then Kael showed up. For some reason he unlocked their collars, and yet he should have known that they were weak. As the collar hit the floor she rubbed her neck.

Kay Georgiy
I don't trust you...

What happened next would take Kay days to work out why, but she would have to roll with it for now s she didn;t have time to complain. The very person that she expected to shoot them on sight, was the very person that had removed their collars for them. With the heavy wieght from her neck removed, Kay felt her spirits lift as well as her chances of survival. "I don't trust Mr. Guardy here, but you said up a floor, so that's where we go. As for you, I don't know why you helped me, but it doesn't change anything." With that said, Kay turned and moved into the stairwell, bafore heading up the stairs.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The pair of guard faltered at Ameilia's words. Was she trying to protect them? If she was, it just made their jobs that little bit easier. After all, their orders were to detain anyone wearing a collar, and anyone seen to be helping them. Lifting their rifles back into position, they aimed at the two that seemed most dangerous, one training on Jansen with the other rifle wavering between Amelia and Jayna. "If that's the way things are going, you can join them on the floor, good doctor." Orders were orders, after all.

Aer Windfall ~ Just another day...

Aer hummed to herself as she tinkered with one of the lab computers in Amelia's lab. The lab computer had short circuited, and as the facility general all round tech electronics person, she was fixing it. Aer's own lab was elsewhere and full of electronics glory.

"Ah, oops," she mumbled when she touched her face and accidentally knocked her glasses off. A strand of her hair yanked out of her head and caused her to go "Ow." It had gotten stuck on her glasses frame.

Aer's hair was tied up in a pony tail specifically to avoid her long hair from getting in her way and to not get caught on her glasses. She was dressed casually compared to everyone else. No uniform. No lab coat. Cargo pants and a utility belt. A simple nicely form fitting top without flowing sleeves. A back pack of tools, goggles, and random gadgets sat next to her on the floor.

Also beside her was a small device that enabled her to flick through the security cameras and to communicate with everyone else.

Gosh... this is taking me longer than I expected. Aer thought. She was replacing the wires that had fried in the computer and she was alone in the lab since Amelia had left earlier. She knew that the gates had opened, but since there didn't seem to be anything that anyone had told her to do, she continued working on the lab computer.

The Mastermind
Manipulation at it's best.

The activities happening elsewhere in the compound were of little concern to him. He already had what he need, even if the others didn't know it yet. All he needed was the last batch of Dna, and his plans could move on rapidly. Unfortunately, the last batch needed was still in the lab. As Aer would finish fixing the computer, the screen would flicker back to life with a message on it, written directly to her. This message is directed at Dr. Aer. In the lab that you are fixing at the moment, there are precious Dna samples that must be moved soon. They are needed at lab #001 within the next five minutes or the past five years will have been for nothing. As the only person in the lab at the moment, the task has been left to you. As she was sitting in lab #012, that meant that she would need to run wit them immediaely in order to reach the right lab in time. Even though the message would say five minutes, the Dna had no such time limit. It was all to make it faster. Thankfully, the hall to lab #001 was empty all the way along. She would make it easily. Leaning back in his seat, he allowed himself a smirk. Everything is going to plan. Now let's watch where this plays out.

((Please don't post as seeing her. I need this to work in order for the Rp to work.))

Aer Windfall ~ 5 Minutes?...

Ok, that should do it, Aer smiled softly as she smacked the lab computer back together. The screen flickered on with a message directed to her. She blinked. Must be from the higher ups since it showed up on the fixed computer screen.

Five minutes... Aer rushed over to the lab benches. Although she wasn't an expert on biological material, she had enough sense and education to know which containers held the samples.

Five minutes... I'd better leave that bag of tools here unless I want to try out that anti gravity device. ...why not? Aer carefully shoved the samples and neatly packed them into a cardboard box. The containers holding the samples would keep them from being exposed to the air, and the padding that Aer shoved in would keep them from falling out. She quickly taped the box shut, hit a button on her bag, strapped it on and dashed out the door.

The button had activated her bag so that it decreased the weight of all the tools and devices inside the bag, allowing her to run at full speed. The timer was ticking.

As Aer rounded one of the corners, she nearly slipped. There was some sort of liquid on the floor. "Ahhh," she cried softly as she regained her balance quickly. Her gymnastics training helped a lot. It made it ridiculously hard for her to fall unless her legs were badly injured. No time to think about why the liquid was there. She had to get the samples to the first lab.

Exactly five minutes later, Aer found herself at the door of Lab 001. No hands... She frowned. Secondary voice access then. "Aer Windfall."

"Voice confirmed. Access granted." The door swung open, and Aer ran in.

"Samples are here," she huffed. She looked around for someone to greet her and take the samples off her hands.

((Uh, no idea if they're on slides, petri dishes, tubes, or whatever, so just being vague.))

Lt. Jansen Cygnar ”Fear monger”
*BZZZZT!* ARGH!, again? I want this collar off...

As the events unfolded and the scientist woman said she could help them, Jansen felt himself becoming more relaxed. But it was not to last, as at was that exact moment the two guards came round to 'greet' them. He looked up at the guards when they announced their presence, it seemed they were in trouble and without much they could do about it. None of them had weapons other than Himself, and even at that fact it was only baton, no match against a rifle.
"Do as they say... I have a plan." Jansen whispered and walked towards the guard with his hands up, he waited till he was a good distance from the girls before getting down on the cold floor.
"Good to see at least this one knows his place HAHA!" Said the senior guard getting out his restraints. The two guards moved in closer to bind Jansen and seemed quite confident that things were going their way, unfortunately that confidence would also lead to their demise. Bending down to cuff Jansen, the guards immediately received a powerful electric shock causing their magic emitter to blow out... Only then to witness a massive cobra slither out of an open cell. It was poised to attack, and attack it did.
"ARRRGGHH!! ********, what did he do? did he use the collar against us?.. AHHH! N-nnn-nev-never mind that... Is it just me th-th-that's scared of snakes?" Said the younger one from the floor where he had been jolted back to. He turned to see the older guard crying tears of blood, as a large python squeezed the life from his veins. He screamed, he screamed one of those screams that stains the soul and grabbed his rifle, unloading a full clip at the monster. The snake flinched at the shots but they only seemed to anger it, it raised up slowly, then lunged at his head... Jansen meanwhile was still on the floor, he wasn't moving, the shock had been too much.
"That... That was Manifestation. One of my powers... Someone, can someone help me up? I can't seem to move. Don't worry, Amplification is almost out from the strain, it won't affect you." He mumbled as the snakes turned to dust and crumbled away, the manifestation would only last as long as the fear was there to feed it after all, and with the guards dead the power dissipated.

Kael fenrir
"So long job! Hello fighting rings!"

"I don't expect you to, especially after my earlier actions, which were just a facade by the way. But in order for you guys to get anywhere, you are going to need me. I'm pretty much second in command here..." Kael said as he followed Kay and Kagura up the flight of stairs before he heard the dying screams of two guards. Kael ran past the two girls and then hugged the corner that lead to the source of the noise. He peeked around and saw the two snakes turn to dust. He noticed that Amelia was there along with a few others. Kael motioned for the girls to stay before he rounded the corner and walked towards the group casually. He noticed the bodies of the guards and he kept his guard.
"What do we have here?" Kael said with his usual smirk.

Amelia Reikart
Come on, really? Can't anything be normal?

Amelia's trembling resumed as the guards met their death. Their screams rang in her ears. She braced herself against the wall. If she hadn't emptied her stomach earlier, she would have thrown up again. She breathed deeply as a burning sensation rose in her throat. She swallowed it back. She was snapped out of her swoon, to her great relief, when Kael appeared. She whirled around to face him, still unsteady, but the burning sensation was gone. "How about we start with what you see it as... Kael," she said, still trembling, before stumbling over to the Lieutenant and helping him up. "I'll go get the key in a moment," she whispered.
