 Adonia smiled a knowing smile,she crossed her arms and legs, speaking in a defiant tone, "Well, I'm not good at this sympathetic stuff, but there's one thing I know. If there's trouble, all us freaks have... is each other." Her eyes turned bright electric blue, the color they obtained when she was incredibly strong and determined.
"I've seen a lot of terrible things as a demigod, things that happen to mortals and monsters. And sometimes I wonder how the gods can just let these things happen. And I know some gods don't give a damn. But we're both lucky. Our parents care enough that we both got here alive." She frowned slightly, though not unhappy.
"But all the same, I can't help but feel I've forgotten something important. Like something's wrong." She gave Gabe a sideways look. "Have you ever had that feeling before?"

Against whatever might betide...>> »"Yeah, I suppose you're right." he replied in a monotone voice. She did have a point. He was lucky to be alive. Even with Mike beating him and fighting with him all the time, the incident with Polyphemus when he was younger could have finished him right there. Luck was never truly on his side, but in some way, he was lucky and just didn't know it.
He knew of all the bad things that the gods and goddesses had done, but that was all myth and legend before. Now that he was living this fiction, he had to think about everything he had ever heard and listened to when he was in school. All of those people who have died over small quarrels between gods.
"I guess it never struck me until now that all those things I've heard about in school...is actually real. They actually happened. I suppose its too much to take in all at once." he added, looking up to the sky and picturing Zeus and the other Olympians sitting up in their thrown, gazing down upon humanity like an incomplete puzzle board. He was uneasy thinking about it, but he was sure he would grow used to it in a matter of years, maybe even months.
As he took another bite to finish his first slice of pizza, he addressed Adonia's last question to him.
"Well, I wish I could say I do. But, unfortunately, I don't. What do you mean?" he questioned back to Adonia upon receiving her last question. He tried to think what she meant by it, but nothing had come to mind.

"I don't know",she said, frowning. "That's the trouble. I feel like someone's in danger. I've been having nightmares lately. And I feel like, like... like my father is in danger." She laughed nervously. "But that's impossible, right? I mean, Dad's like, king of the gods..."
She looked down at her knees. "But suppose our parents were kidnapped," she said. "Do you think we'd be able to save them?" She frowned.
"Sorry Gabe, I don't know why. I just feel like something's not right." She shook her head a few times and smiled. "But I guess it's nothing."

Against whatever might betide...>> »"Yeah, like that would ever happen." he joked. As he went to grab another slice of pizza, he saw Adonia's expression. It showcased completely seriousness. As he leaned back in his chair, he thought for a moment.
If indeed, in some seemingly impossible turn of events, their very parents became captured by Kronos or some other rival of the gods themselves, would their demi-god children be capable of saving them?
"Well...If, Boreas forbid, that ever did happen...I'm not sure what we would do..." he truthfully replied. He could not bring himself to contemplate what he and his fellow campers would do if their very parents were captured. He could sense the trouble Adonia was going through, even if it was just a dream or some sort of scare. He rubbed her shoulder in a reassuring fashion.
"Look, don't worry yourself over it. I'm sure that our parents will be just fine. Don't get yourself worked up over it. For now, just enjoy your pizza, and my company." he added, first serious than beginning to laugh towards the end. He didn't want to worry himself as well, so he tried to keep it out of his head. For some reason, however, he knew it would stay in his thoughts for the time to come.

Adonia laughed, sharing Zeus's grin.She bit into her pizza, watching the pink tinged sky. "Yeah, I guess you're right," she admitted. "That would never happen."
She smiled. "I guess I've been sort of childish." She finished her pizza at last. "So, do you have any new siblings?" She asked, trying to recover from her worries.

"For the moment, it's just Troy and myself." he continued. He reached down to the new slice of pizza he had acquired and took a huge bite from it. It was starting to get a bit cold, but being the son of Boreas, it didn't bother him much. After chewing and swallowing his tear, he turned to Adonia.
"What about yourself? How is the relationship between yourself and Claire? I don't really talk to her much, let alone see her." he questioned politely, trying to add to the change of topic. He didn't want either himself or Adonia to worry about that previous topic. It was... unsettling, even though it was extremely unlikely.

Adonia smiled, feeling much better."Well she's feeling much better," Adonia replied. "Oh, I guess I didn't tell you. She ran into some monsters she couldn't handle and she's in the infirmary. Skylar, a son of Hades is looking after her," Adonia said, smiling.
"Claire's really sweet. She has the same eyes as me and Dad, but she has blond hair. She's not really like most Zeus kids, but she's definitely determined."
She looked up at the dark sky, yawning. "I suppose it's getting late," she said.

Against whatever might betide...>> »"What?! Are you serious?" he exclaimed, becoming very serious. He dropped his pizza and nearly knocked his drink off the table when he slammed his hands on the table from surprise.
"Please, tell her I wish her the best of luck with her recovery. If I can, I'll even stop by to visit her as well. " he added, showing concern for a camper he had hardly talked to.
Though he never spoke to her specifically, he still cared for other campers, regardless of whether he liked them or not. A family was a family, and they were all he had now. Much like Adonia, Kevin, Natalia, Lyra, and all the countless other campers.
As Adonia turned to the sky, so did Gabe. The sky was getting dark, and Apollo was pulling his chariot towards the horizon with an added intensity. He turned to the pizza, still left in the box, and then to Adonia. He smiled slightly then began to laugh.
"Well, do you wanna take home the extra slices to Claire or do you want me to keep them?" he laughed. It was also getting a bit cold out as the sun began to set. It didn't bother him of course, but he wasn't sure how well Adonia was in the cold, especially with such light clothing on.

Adonia grinned, standing up and stretching."You can keep it," Adonia replied. "If you want to I mean," she said, standing up and yawning.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow," she said, starting to walk down the steps of the porch.
She smiled up at Gabe, standing at the foot of the stairs. "This was really awesome," she said earnestly, tucking her hair behind her ears.
