Shun stared at the tattoo on her shoulder. He hadn't realized it earlier but it looked kinda like the odd statue in the room. Coincidence? Or perhaps she was a fan of the 'old myth' she had mentioned. Either way, it struck him as a little odd.
Pausing as he heard the noise as well, he glanced behind and frowned. It seemed that more of the strikers were on their way, which probably wasn't a good thing for them.
"Yeah," he said as he took the dagger carefully. He didn't have an extra sheathe to put it in so he just held onto it for now.
"Bent!" he called out to the organoid.
"She's not an organoid.." said Bent-Tail while shaking his head. Then, hearing his pilot, he quickly bounded over to join them.
"Once we get out.. if you have a zoid hidden somewhere I'll also need you to attack me once or twice. It'd be more believable if my zoid has some damage on it," Shun said lowly as he turned towards the opposite end of the room.

"Blaze, was destroyed..." Nick nearly whispered the response. The memory brought her back to that night everything went to hell.
Blaze was also somewhat of a legend in the Imperial Army. The only Republic GunSniper traded to the Empire via the ZOID treaty. It was to symbolize their new alliance. This particular gunsniper was equipped with a set of blades and an upgraded booster. Nick was chosen to pilot the ZOID as soon as she joined the military at a very young age. The nickname was given on the spot when Nick saw the ZOID.
"But We can always improvise..." Nick flexed her right hand. It wouldn't be the first time she broke a ZOIDs armor.
-rats senses are dull... not from great mother... not know much.- Zutnic hissed then bound off to be at Nick's side. The striker was thrown off by the metallic side of Nick's appearance. Her heart had been reconstructed after the accident using the same technology Dr. Fox used to create the organoid and ZOID cores. It kept her natural born heart going. Though this information was highly classified, in which only she and the Doctor knew about. The former general had known, but her knowledge had died with her.
Nick remained behind Shun this time. The sounds were coming from behind them and she felt better placing herself between them and him. They were after him and not her...
The walls burst in a cloud of rubble. Like a swarm of insects they crawled through the holes they created in the walls and begun to flood the room. Zutnic followed close behind Nick instead of joining his buddies.

Though it was soft, Shun did hear what she said, and his eyes widened at the thought of it. Then shaking his head, he just pressed on. It was a pity that the gunsniper had been destroyed, but nothing could be done about it now. They had more pressing things at hand.
"My senses are jus fine!" Bent-Tail said, somewhat indignant. Sure he had noticed something odd about Nick, but he was quite certain she was human and not an organoid as Zutnic claimed. If anything, he felt the striker's senses were dull.
"s**t!" cursed the cadet as the strikers began to flood the room. No time to stick around and shoot things, so he broke off into a run, keeping his gun ready in case anything got too close for comfort. He glanced behind quickly to make sure he wasn't leaving Nick or Bent-Tail behind as he did so.

The horde moved quickly along the walls of the room. Some lept to the floor and perused on foot. Others crawled to the ceiling and dropped onto the strange statue in the center of the room.
It appeared as if an endless supply of strikers poured into the room like a constant water supply. There had to have been more 'nests' inside the walls.
Soon the room was full of the red dots and holes in the walls. Each one screeched in a and clicked as they charged toward the group.
The room up ahead was, as Zutnic described, lighted with the dim light of the sun at the end of the long hall. Which was odd that they had seemed to go very deep into the earth. What Zut didn't investigate where the light was. It was was still to far to tell where it had let out...
"Focus forward!" Nick's tone went back to 'military mode'. Her command spoken with no hesitation. "I've got your back! Watch for any ceiling traps past that door!"

"Yes sir!" he replied while rushing forward.
The organoid kept up with him, keeping far enough to risk causing the cadet to trip up. Falling down in a situation like this would probably be quite hazardous after all. As he ran, he kept glancing from side to side, not wanting to get bitten again by one of the creatures. Their metal was still quite sharp, despite all the time they had been dormant.
With the dagger he received in one hand, and his gun in the other, Shun kept on going through what he hoped wouldn't be much of a gauntlet. He had to trust that Nick had him covered as she said, so he kept his eyes forward, watching for any signs of the traps up ahead. Hopefully this place didn't have any other types of traps hidden around..
The cadet gritted his teeth, wondering what made the zoidians in the past create so many of the strikers.. or why they were made in the first place.

The strikers were starting to gain on the group quickly, and more still pored into the room. Their hisses growing louder and louder by the second. The room echoed with the sound of gears grinding mixed with metal scraping rock. Some of the ones on the ground even begun to leap at the group in order to gain ground on their target.
Than, just as the first striker was within arms length of Nick, a terrible banshee like screech tore through the room. Every striker suddenly stopped and glanced to the wall left from the door. Even Zutnic ceased moving.
Nick could feel the start of a Migraine beginning to pound on her mind. There was no mistaking the noise, that was Jury. It had to be close.
Another screech. Nick winced at the sound. She could hear -it's- voice, its commands. "Keep going..." she ordered Shun with a gasp.
"don't... look back..." Her pace begun to slow a great deal as her legs grew heavy.
"keep moving..."

Shun almost froze in place as a shriek unlike any of the others before echoed through the temple. He didn't know what it was, and he was just about to try and see when he heard Nick's orders. Gritting his teeth, he just nodded and kept running forward, but Nick wasn't the only one wearing down.
The way out was quite a distance away from where they had started. And now that he was actually running towards it, the exit seemed even further than he anticipated.
Huffing, he struggled to keep going as fast as he could but he was beginning to slow down a fair amount as well.
Even though she said not to, the cadet couldn't help but shoot one glance back quickly as he ran.

The wall burst spreading debris about the room and even crushing a few of the strikers under large fractions of the wall. Thick black fog rolled into the room from the gaping hole. covered most of the room, hiding most of the strikers behind its veil.
Eight thunderous foot steps shook the room as something large moved through the new entrance. The fog swirled about the ZOID keeping its appearance masked.
Nick looked over her shoulder when the Jury let out another screech. All the strikers looked back at the group with more clicking. She growled and turned back toward the exit. "not yet...."
The strikers growled and continued the charge.
As if things could not seem worse, dirt begun to fall from the door's entrance. The trap had been trigger by the vibrations.
Nick picked up the pace once more, if Shun got caught in the room with the Jury, all these strikers and the Iron Judge the result wouldn't be promising.

In his quick glance behind, Shun didn't get much out of it aside from seeing flowing black fog, red eyes, and something large way back. Basically it was just bad news behind him. It gave him a little more motivation to keep running forward.
And if that wasn't bad enough, it looked like the door was about to be cut off up ahead.
"Come on!" he shouted as he tried to hurry forward, "Bent-Tail... go ahead and get Fang ready!"
The organoid didn't waste time before rushing ahead, able to run faster than his pilot. If the wall came down and he managed to get out in the very least, he might at least be able to bust open a hole with the Saber Fang's help.
Huffing as he struggled to keep running, Shun glanced behind again to see if Nick was keeping up.

Nick had managed to muster up enough speed to cover the distance between her and Shun in a short time. Adrenaline had kicked in now more than ever.
Her right arm extended as she lept for Shun for a quick tackle through the door. The action took place just as Shun glanced back at her. In the split second he saw her he would be able to see her face had lost any expression. The left eye seemed to be gazing right through him.
The strikers started to n** and jump at Shun. They seemed to ignore Nick's presence all together.
Bent would find the hall like the one from the secret entrance, small and long. However, there were no more trap doors after the one in front of the door. Outside he would find their location had changed a great deal. The forest was above them on the top of a steep cliff and before him was an overgrown grassy plane.

Once outside, the organoid looked around for signs of the Saber Fang, but to his surprise he was in a completely different area from when they had entered. Quickly, he looked around to try and get a feel as to where he was exactly, but he had a feeling he wouldn't be reaching the zoid anytime soon.
The look on Nick's face was a little unnerving when Shun had a glimpse of her. He didn't have much time to wonder what was going through her mind because he soon felt a strong impact coming from behind as she tackled him through the door.
"Ough!" he grunted as he took the hit and landed on the ground with a thud. Everything had happened so quickly he needed a moment realize what just happened. A part of his left leg hurt for whatever reason, but he wasn't able to see it at the moment.
Luckily, when he had been tackled, he ended up flinging the dagger forward. Otherwise he probably would have stabbed himself or Nick on accident with it.

Nick had no time to think of what Shun had in his hands or not. Not making it past the door was a worse fate than death. With no hope of escape Shun would have been tortured by her own hands at Jury's control. Not to mention the strikers. They seemed bent on tearing into his flesh.
The walls came down with three loud crashes. Jury let out another screech scolding Nick for her action. Due to his size, luckily, he was not able to make it far in the room very quickly. Thus the hallway was, for now, safe.
A few of the strikers were unfortunate enough to have their heads crushed under the wall just before they could make it to the other side.
One of them had made it to the other side, but found most of his tail under the wall leaving him to flail and n** at Shun with no success.
Nick gripped her head and rolled away from Shun with a groan. The migraine continued to rip at her mind. It would continue until she submitted to the Iron Judge.

With a groan, Shun slowly pushed himself up once Nick rolled away. He gave a wince as he moved his leg. Now that he was able to see, he noticed that one of the strikers had managed to graze his thigh with its sharp teeth earlier. It must have happened right before he had been knocked through the doorway.
The cuts weren't deep, but it would slow him down either way.
As he caught his breath, he looked at the walls, thankful for the trap again, then he turned his attention towards Nick. It looked like none of the strikers had gotten her, which was a bit strange considering she was behind him, but he didn't question it for now. Despite the lack of cuts, she appeared to be in pain.
"Is something wrong?" he asked lowly while clutching his leg to try and slow the bleeding. As he did this, he noticed the striker that was flailing out at him hopelessly. The cadet glared at the thing, then took one hand away from the wound to grab his gun to shoot it in the eye out of spite.

Nick mumbled something of an answer, but the words were lost to the grunts and growls.
Slowly she pushed herself from the floor than propped herself against the wall near the aggressive machine.
The striker flinched as his precious eye was blown out of its socket. It spitefully hissed at Shun before it found its skull in Nick's crushing grip. "Shut it..." she growled to the thing as its skull collapsed.
Her glare slowly moved back to Shun as her palm begun to glow red.
"Let... me see your leg..." She spoke between grit teeth. Sweat rolled down her brow.

Shun didn't understand a single word that came out of Nick's mouth as she replied, but for now he was more focused on the striker anyway. He let out a huff as its skull had been crushed, muttering something along the lines of 'good riddance'.
Glancing towards Nick, his eyes soon shifted to her palm which seemed to glow red with heat, then at his leg. He had a slight feeling where this was going, and he knew he wasn't going to enjoy it much.
"Are you alright...Captain... ?" he frowned. Though she wanted to look at his leg, she didn't seem to be in a very good condition herself. But, he complied anyway.
With a grimace, he slowly moved his hand away from his leg. The area of his pants around the affected area had been shredded quite well, which made the wound pretty easy to see.
