Yury giggled and shook her head a little at Nanaki. "I said, How far are we going to go tonight?" she asked one more time. "You know, i am starting to get hungry, why don't we eat now? if that is ok with you." She asked hoping he would agree. As she spoke her tummy growled loudly which struck Yury with embarrassment. Her face turned bright red as she looked away. "Good job Yury" she thought to herself. She hoped he didn't hear it but she knew he did.

Nanaki laughed when he heard her stomach growl as if to emphasize her words. "Well... isn't your stomach demanding?" he joked and then finally regained his composure and nodded. "Yeah, I suppose we can stop to grab a bite to eat, if we can find anything that is." once he spoke he began listening intently for any signs of prey near by.
He heard the hiss of some sort of snake, hardly edible, and then the quiet breathing of something larger. He tilted his head to the side curiously, what could be that large out here that roamed at night? For a moment he thought about that band of Shakaiyo that had attacked them the night before, but this noise was different... prey, not predator. He motioned for Yury to follow him, then dropped into a stalking crouch and moved silently towards the source of his curiousity.

"It's not funny" Yury pouted as her face turned given read with him laughing at her. She was about to playful tackle him until he got all serious. She new she wouldn't be able to fish unless the fish magically glowed in the dark are if it was really huge. She knew she would have to rely on him.That was when she notice Nanaki alert.
Yury first tilted her head as she watched Nanaki Crouch down until she notice the breathing as well. At first she thought it was another Shakaiyo like the night before but by the way Nanaki was acting she knew it wasn't. When he motioned to fallow she did just that, crouching down and moving slow as well. All that was running threw her mind was, I hope my tummy doesn't growl again.

As they reached the top of a small dune Nanaki spied the source of the breathing, a rather large rodent of some sort or another, now, under normal circumstances he wouldn't ask a lady to help him hunt but, he knew that the rodent would be able to sense him coming before he was able to even get close to it and so he turned to look at Yury.
"Stay here, I'm going to sneak around to head it off, when I give you the signal, chase it towards me. It'll be fast so don't try to catch it." his voice was just barely audible and when he assumed Yury understood he slunk off around the small dip that the rodent was in. He hoped this would work, he wasn't sure if he would be able to run fast enough to catch it if it went off in the wrong direction, especially not with his injuries.

All Yury could think about was not messing up. She was scared that before he could get in position her tummy would growl and scare it off. So she stayed still waiting for his signal.
{didn't really know what to put ^^;}

When he was in position he glanced up and could see Yury waiting for his signal. He flicked his tail twice, quickly, knowing she would see the flame, and then he moved forward slowly towards his prey. Keeping his body, and his tail, as low as possible so the rodent wouldn't see him he got a little bit closer and then his whole body tensed, ready to release in a sprint to head off the prey when Yury spooked it.

Yury saw the flame of his tail and knew that was the signal. She started to run as fast as she could to the Animal. It of corse noticed her right away and started to run where Nanaki was. She was amazed now everything seemed to fall in place just like Nanaki said.

Nanaki waited patiently as the rodent raced haphazardly towards him. Attempting to escape from one predator and completely oblivious to the one that lie in wait just beyond the crest of the hill.
As the rodent got closer Nanaki moved to head it off and then jumped on it and bit into the back of it's neck. After a few seconds it stopped struggling and hung limply in his jaws. Raising his head he found Yury's white pelt, seemingly glowing in the moonlight, and moved towards her. He set the rodent at her feet and smiled.
"Very well done Yury, let's eat and then we'll keep going. I can smell salt on the breeze, we must be close to the ocean."

"ya i can smell it too"Yury added with a big smile on her face. She then bent down and took a bite of the rodent. "it is good, what ever it is." she said as she poked it with her paw. She was sure what this was called but she enjoyed it as she ate it happily, swishing her fluffy tail. It didn't take long for her be full and since the Rodent was so big Nanaki would be able to get full as well.

Nanaki smiled as Yury ate, and when she was finished he ate as well. He was hard pressed to finish it, as he was getting full, but he didn't want it to go to waste and he figured that the more he ate the more strength he would have and the faster he would heal. When he had finished the whole thing he looked to Yury and his tail swayed happily behind him. "Lets keep going, maybe we can get there by morning."
As he spoke he rose to his paws and headed back towards the river which he planned to continue following until they reached the ocean. As he walked, in the back of his mind, he heard that voice, it was telling him to keep an eye on his mate, and make sure she didn't fall behind, and that he should check on her injuries to make sure they hadn't reopened from the running she had done.
Shaking his head to clear it he told the voice, none to politely, to be quiet and let him travel in peace.

After there meal Yury went to fallow Nanaki once again but when she stood up she could feel a sharp pain he her neck. She didn't want Nanaki to know of her pain since he seemed so happy about be near the ocean. Every step she took felt more and more painful and she had a hard time not showing it. She walked behind Nanaki so he couldn't see her face that showed her pain.

As they continued travelling beside the river the voice in Nanaki's head grew louder and louder and was throwing an all out fit.
We need to rest, Yury is in pain.
How do you know that? She's keeping up just fine.
Just trust me, we need to stop and you need to inspect her wounds!
If we stop will you shut up?
I guess, but you really should find a place to rest... now.
During the conversation he was having with himself in his head Nanaki sighed and looked over at Yury. She seemed to be doing alright, but then, what was that odd movement she was making as she walked, almost as if she was compensating for something. He frowned and scanned the area spying a large willow tree that had branches hanging down in a thick mass to rest upon the ground, like a den. "Yury, lets rest for awhile. We can continue tomorrow." his tone left no room for argument.

Yury looked up at him wanting to say something but with that ton she knew it would be useless. "O-Ok" she managed to say with out sounding like she was in pain. She felt bad knowing she was likely the reason why they where resting. But she knew she needed it, her neck was in so much pain. She walk behind Nanaki trying to keep up and reach there short goal.

When they reached the willow Nanaki went inside first and looked around. There were no signs of recent inhabitants. "Come on in Yury, it's safe." he called.
He began thinking of what he would do if she was hurt and how he would heal her, he had noticed more and more vegetation the further they went but he wasn't sure if there was anything around that he knew to be medicinal that he could use for this purpose. After all, his knowledge of medicines was limited, he had never been the shaman in his tribe, merely studied as an apprentice for a few short months.

Yury walked in after Nanaki and plopped down as soon as she entered. The realization made her neck feel better and even more so when she laid down but the pain was still there. "Good, going yury" she thought and hoped Nanaki wouldn't notice. She just hoped it wouldn't get infected, it wasn't like she could lick her neck.
