"YES!" she erupted, turning in her seat, "YOU! You are what is wrong! Gawd! All I did was try and be a friend. Learn your stupid language to help you fit in. Why? I don't even know? But it's your fault!"
The bus was nearing the school's entrance by now.
"It's because of you and your silly... silly Russian antics that made me think you were good. But no! I got my favorite thing taken away! I CAN'T DANCE ANYMORE! Kicked straight out of that stupid school and not allowed back. It was my only way to get into regionals! But now I'm screwed! And it's all your fault! If I hadn't been distracted by you, your stupid smile.... your stupid language! I would have not messed up! I wouldn't have lost my spot and I would have had my life exactly as I wanted it! BUT NO!"
The bus lurched to a stop as she stood and glared down at Dmitri.
"It's all your fault. I hate you. Every bit of you. Du bist undeshisste!"
She turned and stormed off the buss, her hair flaring out behind her and she marched into the school with her face red with anger.

In contrast to her red face, Dmitri's was about as pale as a ghost. He watched her as she stood and left. He couldn't will himself to move. His entire body was in shock. He didn't know what to think. It was his fault? How was it his fault? His mind was in a dazed panic.
It was just like the last day he saw her. Except this time, he was dazed in a bad way. His lips curled downward and his eyebrows drew together, arching upwards slightly. He couldn't take it all in. Just earlier that week, she liked him, almost loved him, it seemed. But now...he couldn't understand it all. It was too much to take in at once.
The bus driver had to yell at him to get off the bus, but he did eventually. He felt like he was moving in slow motion and everything else around him was moving so quickly. He felt dizzy. But he somehow made it to his first class and practically fell into his seat.

Anger flowed through her for most of the day until she got to lunch where she was a little less full of angst against the world.
She sat down with her food next to her friend Carol and opened her milk, sipping it through the straw.
"You look like hell on two legs," commented Carol, staring at her.
"Thanks... I needed that."
She stared down at her food, wondering what to eat first.

If Dmitri was depressed when Juliet was absent, he was completely devastated now that she was there. He was like a moving blob throughout the halls and in the classroom. His face reflected that of one who had just suffered a recent loss or blow to the head or something. Either way, he looked terrible.
He trudged into the lunch room and sat down at the table with his friend. His head slumped down onto the table and he didn't even look at his lunch box.
"...what's the matter with you? You've been so quiet all week. And...depressed looking," Aaron commented, chewing his sandwich.
Dmitri muttered something, but his words were muffled by his sleeve.
"What?"
He lifted his head slightly so his mouth was clear. "I am hated and I don't know vhy..."
Aaron just stared at him for a long moment. "...okay...." he said, glancing away for a moment. "Who, may I ask hates you? That chick you've been hanging around?"
Dmitri nodded before burying his face in his arms.
Aaron took the sign that he didn't want to talk anymore and shut up. He ate his sandwich and his eyes traveled across the room. He spotted the red head and paused, still chewing. After a moment, he stood, glancing back at Dmitri. The blob didn't even notice. He walked across the cafeteria over to where Juliet sat and stood in front of her table for a moment, looking at her and her friend. "What's up?" he said, fairly casually before taking a seat next to her.

Carol was munching in her thick stack of carrot sticks when Aaron walked up. She almost jolted into the perfect sitting position when he spoke, her jaws pausing slightly before continuing. She swallowed hard and grinned up at him.
"Oh! Hello Aaron. You probably don't know me. I'm Carol~!" she said with a small wave.
Juliet had almost the opposite reaction to his arrive. Meaning she didn't give a crap and showed it quite obviously. Only when he spoke did she look up at him, glaring into him as though if she stared enough he would just vaporize where he stood. Her eyes stayed on him for a moment longer before looking over at Carol and then to her granola bar in which she took a small bite out of.

Aaron glanced over at Carol as she introduced herself. He didn't react right away, but when he had a moment, he smiled warmly at her. "Hello. I thought I recognized you from somewhere. Are we in the same class or something?"
He paused, realizing he was getting off track and looked over at Juliet. He didn't care if she hated him at the moment or later, which he was sure she would. "I reiterate, what is up?"

Carol started to saying something before he changed the subject. Her eyes went from him to her before she gave an almost disgusted look.
"Oh, you're here for her," she muttered, taking another stick and shoving it in her mouth, "Go figure. Mr.Handsome comes and he's here for grumpy pants."
Juliet looked to him, a small smirk on her face.
"You know, it's not my fault. Well, it probably is. But that's besides the point," she paused and looked over to Aaron, "She's in your class. Has had at least one with you every semester for the last three years. Welcome to the forth in which you still fail to notice her. Please, direct your attention to the thin wait, perky breasts, and over all lack of bad attitude."
Her smile winced slightly as she felt the hard kick from Carol's shoe plant itself on her shin.
"Rightly so," she muttered painfully before taking another bite of her bar, "To answer your question, everything is up. Other than what is bellow though. If it's bellow it isn't up. It'd be down. Simple logic really."

Aaron didn't know where to look. He glanced at Carol shortly as Juliet spoke of her, then back to Juliet. He felt his face grow slightly warmer. Apparently he hadn't noticed her. He knew he had seen her, but apparently she wasn't someone who had caught his eyes right away....But he was getting distracted again. Even so, he couldn't let his reputation be tarnished by being rude to such a........girl.
He turned to Carol. "I'm sorry. I never really...talked to you so I suppose I just never got around to...er...noticing...you..." Well that was the worst apology in the world. He reached across the table, leaning onto it, and touched her arm lightly a she looked at her. "I'm sorry."
He then retreated and looked back at Juliet, a somewhat unamused look on his face. "Yes, you are miss grumpy pants, aren't you? Should you really take it out on other people, though? That's just selfish."

Carol's face grew a tad warm as she watched him reach over and touch her arm. When he drew away she breathed once more and looked over to Juliet, slightly confused and worried at his comment.
"She's not... mean to other people. She-" Carol began before Juliet waved her off gently.
"It's alright Carri-kins. That's what we call her you know."
"No one calls me that."
"Anyway," Juliet said with a smile, leaning forward slightly, "Call me grumpy, call me mean. I don't really care what you think because you don't really matter at all. At least, not to me. I'm sure your mummy still tells you that you're uber special every morning and by all means, listen to mummy dearest. I don't need a little boy coming over here and trying to lecture me about what I should and should not do. If someone has an issue with me, that's their own fault. I only tell the truth. No lies escape these lips. So if I said something then it was true and let me tell you something boy, the truth hurts. Oh it hurts like a b***h. And while we're on the subject, I can show you what that would feel like because you've got a grade A, certified a*****e and b***h card holder sitting right in front of you."
Though she had started with a smile she was ending with another wonderful glare as she leaned back and took another bite from her bar, her stare at him never wavering.

Aaron didn't falter at all throughout Juliet's rant. He just watched her, straight-faces. He looked rather unamused with it all, actually. He waited until she was silent for a moment before raising an eyebrow. "Are you done?" he asked, not giving her a real chance to answer.
"First of all, yeah, you're right about the whole b***h thing. I can see that, I really can. And if you're proud of that, kudos to you and your bitchiness. Just keep it to yourself, wouldya? You could push someone into committing suicide with a face like that. You really could. I'm serious." He paused a moment to reflect, but only a very short moment. "I understand the whole 'I hate the world so I'm gonna take it out on everyone' thing. But really? Do you honestly think that's gonna help anything? Anything at all? You feel better by dragging other people as low as you? You know what I call that? A bully. But since you're a b***h, you'd be a b***h of a bully." He smiled slightly to himself, amused somewhat by his own words.
"Anyway...I really just came over here to see why Dmitri looks like a walking advertisement for a depression pill and then to try to fix it, but I'm thinking that you're going to be unreasonable. You've got a hard head, don'tchya?" He grinned again and reached over to tap the side of her head somewhat lightly, yet harder than he had touched Carol's arm. He was actually amusing himself somewhat.

Irritation flashed across her face as her hand shot up and grabbed his wrist and slammed it down hard upon the table, holding it against the hard surface. She half stood, staring into him.
"Oh, that's great that he has such a lovely friend. I mean really, where in the world would us foreigners be if there wasn't someone to accept us," an almost sad tone was entering her voice and she couldn't help it. She knew it was there. Heck, she could feel the words begin to crack as she spoke them, tears threatening to puddle at the corner of her eyes, "But it is his fault. I told him to leave me alone. I tried to keep him from getting hurt. But if anyone was stubborn, it was him. I blame myself mostly. Shouldn't have let someone do that to me. Should have seen it coming a mile away. Hell, I've been keeping a distance for my whole life. Why change now. All you American brats act the same anyway."
She paused and looked to Carol, her expression changing to a sincere apologetic one.
"You know I don't mean you Carol. I love you so much. You aren't like them so don't take it that way," she said before looking back to Aaron, her fingers still tight around his wrist, "The point is don't judge me. Don't fricking think you're high enough to know whats best. Once you have your future ripped away from you maybe you'll understand but I doubt it'll happen. You seem like a lucky person. You won't ever do anything nice and get kicked in the a** for it. Just tell him I was an a**. To forget about me. He's better off anyway."
She drew her hand back and stood all the way up, trying to wipe the sadness from her face. It wasn't working. Damn, she thought as she took another step back and turned. She jammed her hands into her pants pockets and walked away. She didn't need this. She wasn't supposed to be here. The thought of returning to Germany struck her fancy for a moment before totally diminishing in the despair that clouded her thoughts.
Screw them all.

Aaron still didn't respond to anything she said. His face remained clean of all emotion, even as she slammed his wrist down onto the table. It wasn't until after she walked away that he responded at all. He lifted his arm and, with his other hand, rubbed his wrist lightly. "Damn, she can be violent if she wants to be," he commented, staring down at his now red wrist.
A long moment of silence passed as he stared down at his own hands. An almost sad expressions came onto his face and he slowly stopped moving. "Funny thing is...I was going to tell him that anyway."
He slowly looked up at Carol, a smile on his face again. "Well, I'm sorry to chase your lunch-mate away. Feel free to join me and my Russian friend, if you get lonely. But I assume you'll be the good friend you are and try to cheer her up. If that's even possible." He got to his feet at that, still smiling at her. "I suppose I'll see you in class then."

Carol's lip trembled slightly as she watched. She hadn't seen her friend this upset in ages. Even then she doubted that Juliet had been angry enough to physically harm someone.
She stood angrily, gathering her and Juliet's things before looking over to Aaron. It looked as though she herself was going to cry.
"You don't even know her... You don't know me and you don't know her. You're the real a** here.... You really are. Any blind fool could see something was wrong...." she paused to look over at where her friend had gone, "She wouldn't have said those things if something bad hadn't happened...."
Her frown turned into a determined look as she glanced back to Aaron. "Enjoy your lunch. Tell Dmitri that Carol says hello.... And that I have his candy he wanted... Oh and by the way. He's your friend. Not your Russian friend. Don't be stupid."
With that she hurried on after her friend. She had to figure out what was going on. Had to find out what was messing things up so badly.

Aaron stared at Carol, watching her. He felt rather confused, really. He was so confident in himself but not so much anymore. He let out a sigh. He was just trying to help his friend. Apparently he had let his mean side slip. He sighed once again. He hadn't lost his temper but he enjoyed yelling at her a bit too much. It concerned him. He wasn't supposed to be like that anymore.
He pushed the thought aside for the moment, however. He had a friend in crisis he had to attend to. He walked back over to the table Dmitri was sitting at. He had lifted his head and was looking, confused, at the empty seat previously filled by Aaron. As he approached, Dmitri looked up, curiously. "Vere vhere you?" he asked, not getting up from his seat.
Aaron sat down, putting a fake smile back onto his face. "Finding out a little more about your issues," he replied, taking out his food. He looked at it as if it were the most disgusting thing in the world, but took a bite anyway. He had lost his appetite, but he didn't want Dmitri to know that.
"Vhat?" Dmitri replied with much more conviction in his voice. He even sat up a bit straighter. "You deedn't..../do/ anysing, deed you?"
"I spoke with the fiery red head. You know, it really is true that red heads loose their tempers more than other people. But that's beside the point..." He paused, chewing his sandwich tastelessly. "I...don't think you should take this so personally. I don't mean to get your hopes up or anything, I'm pretty sure she hates you, but...I don't know. It seemed like there was something else wrong with her. So maybe she's pmsing or something. I dunno. But if that's true, you should definitely forget about her cause you'll have to deal with this every month." He gave a slight smile before taking another bite.
Dmitri stared at him, his mouth ajar. "You....you deedn't...."
"Unfortunately I did. I'm pretty sure she hates me more than you, too. I'm going to make sure all of my doors are locked tonight, that's for sure."
"Vhat deed you do? No, vhy vould you even do zhat?" Dmitri asked, both his face and voice giving off an air of disbelief. "Eef she already hates me, vhy vould you go and ruin eet even more?!" He let out a frustrated sigh and slammed his head back into his hands.
Aaron stared at him a moment longer before looking down at his sandwich. "No good deed goes unpunished, eh? I should just stop trying..."

Carol walked down the empty hallway, her things in hand. "Juliet! Where are you?" she called as she made her way down to the courtyard. It was there that she found her, sitting beneath one of the large oak trees that resided within the small area. It was a shame no one every used the place.
"Juliet...," she whispered as she walked to her side and rested on her knees, her hand coming out and resting on Juliet's arm, "What is wrong. What happened. I need you to tell me so I can help."
Tear-filled eyes looked up at her, strands of golden-red hair curling around her flushed face.
"I lost the dance position Carol. Lost it. Poof. They gave it to Jane and told me not to come back.... ever. It was my one shot to regionals... to nationals... maybe even above that. But it's all gone now." Her chin sunk to her chest once more as she lifted her hands up to cover her face. "I... I thought I'd be nice and learn his language you know. Cause I knew some Russian. I-I thought maybe... It had been long enough. I had my life planned out. I don't have many friends. I thought... maybe making another would be kinda nice. But no... I lost focus Carol. I lost it and lost that future..."
Juliet felt the warm arms of her friend wrap around her in an embrace and she couldn't help but lay int her breast and cry. It was all going so wrong and now some idiot was making it worse.
"Shush shush... It'll be all right. You'll see! Shush now," cooed Carol as she brushed her fingers through Juliet's hair, "You'll see...."
