"At least I'm not a balding old geezer." She shouted back to him, following him with a silly grin on her face. Yes, he was fun to torment a bit, and Ama was finding his company more and more fun.

"I'm not old i'm experienced!" he shouts back stilll not pausing in his footsteps but glancing briefly over his shoulder at her. "More experienced then you" he grins and faces forwards once more as they approach the edge of hte cliff

"Really? Cuz the last time I checked, you were a big old rock head for a while. I think I'm the one with more experience than you!" To prove her awesomeness, she went to sneak up behind him to tickle him; at least she KNEW he was ticklish.

"I don't think so young missie!" he laughs as he walks only to get surprised by her sneaking up to tickle him and he jumped a couple feet in the air with a slight shriek "Hey!!!" he moves to avoid more tickling and possibly even get in some retaliation tickles

Clutching her sides, Ama succumbed to laughter. "Oh.... Oh my gosh, you should have SEEN your face!" She got out between laughing fits. "Priceless!" Tears were forming at the edges of her eyes, and her sides were going to start hurting any time now. "I don't think I've ever seen a man jump that far coupled with a shriek!"

Thom backs up a couple feet from the female pae, he wasnt sure whether to be hurt or to laugh along. Though he was leaning towards the former but was trying to decide if she was laughing at his expence. Being alone for as long as he had the male could only bite his lip and brush his hair from his face. After a minute of watching her he turns quietly and walks away towards the cliff again.

Ama's laughter quickly died as he turned and left, and for a moment all she could do was watch. Guilt began washing over her as she realized she'd probably taken her teasing to far. Quickly, she rushed after him and, without thinking, wrapped her arms around him from behind to give him a tight hug. "I'm sorry" she said in a near whisper, her voice no longer joyous and bright. "I took my teasing to far this time didn't I...." She didn't want to screw things up with her new friend, not so early when things could be broken beyond repair so easily.

"You could say something like that" he replied quietly... Thom wasn't really receptive to the hug at that very moment, he woulda kept walking but her hug kinda stopped him in his tracks by the sheer fact he wasnt going to drag someone across the ground. His eyes fixated towards the ground, he didnt quite know what to say if anything.

Arms slowly dropping to her side, Ama let go of him, staking a step back. Her ears were drooped and all joy seemed to be gone from her and she rubbed her arm, looking away. "Here... here's the map I've been using. You can have it... You'll probably need it since everything has changed." She held out the folded up paper to him, unable to look up at him.

"Why would I need it... Are you not helping me anymore?" he questions her, looking back towards her as he does. There isnt laughter in his eyes anymore, just kinda that sollemn look that he'd had for a long time. He wasnt going to stop her if she wasnt, but he really wasnt a fan of the massive teasing either. He doesnt move, nor say anything else, just watches the fawn standing in front of him, without taking the map from her.

His question caused her to take a small breath of surprise, she hadn't anticipated him actually still wanting to have her around. Carefully, she lifted her head to look up at him, then gave him a small, hopeful smile. "Do you... still want me to help you?" She hated seeing that look on him, and she knew right then that she'd do everything in her power to make sure he never looked like that. It was something she never saw in her family, that look, and it was something she wanted to fix with him. "Because... I'd like to stay if you'll let me."

"Not really anyone else I can turn to for help. I don't really actually know anyone anymore it would seem. Those I might remember probably wouldn't recognize me, I spent too much time on that mountain and then it seems a long time where you found me.... considering how much the island has changed and I dont recognize it anymore" he sighs, if he had pockets his hands would be in them but since he didnt they just hung loosely at his sides. He watches her for a time and then slowly and quietly adds "let just ... lay off some of the teasing"

Her smiled widened a little more and she pawed at the ground a bit. "Fine, but you have to do something for me too." Without waiting for him ask her what it was, she was in action. Jumping onto him and wrapping her arms tightly around him, she whispered her demand in his ear. "I want you to smile more." Her little faun tail wiggled and wagged happily behind her. She was so happy to know that she hadn't lost Thom as a friend, and she'd sure do her best not to let herself lose him in the future.

Thom nearly fell backwards as he was pounced, he'd been waiting for her answer, and her 'condition' not expecting in the least to be tackled. After a minute of stunned silence Ama would hear just three words "Ama..... need.......... air....." yes she was holding the poor male THAT tightly in her grip.
