Remus nodded as James and Chris re-entered the lab. The Imperator stood before the Window, ready to step in. There was a lot of tension in the air.
"Alright, Doctor. Flip the switch." he said sarcastically. Though it was fairly obvious to all that the humor was forced.

Doctor Evros blinked and made his way to the panel of switches on the wall, flipping one or two before Dr. Cairndeer managed to give him an incredibly brief lesson on verbal irony. The alien's face turned slightly red and he motioned the Imperator - as well as the rest after him - that they should enter now.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Remus nodded to Dr. Evros and turned to face the Window. He took a breath and stepped over into the pool of water. The Imperator held his breath and submerged himself completely, disappearing from the lab. Before his head disappeared under the surface, he wondered if he would ever return mentally intact....or at all.

The nobles followed soon after, wondering the same thing. Emma had her eyes squeezed shut as the waters closed over her and she fought the crippling pangs of fear the Window sent through her.

The doctors and Chris were next.
After them came Kaok's human half. The girl hesitated a brief moment, looking into the pool of water at the trees that lay there. She had this feeling that this was a place she left a long time ago, and that she was supposed to dread going back. But eventually even she was through the Window. The last thing she saw in the lab was the flickering light of an old movie projector, like it was saying goodbye to her.
She was submerged shortly after - fighting hard to keep her eyes open, even though there wasn't much to see - but the water was too deep to have been just that basin. There was a whole ocean in there it felt like, they kept drifting down and down and down... she'd taken a deep breath, but it didn't seem to last long enough.
She tried to hold out, to tough through it until the end, but there was no end in sight. She was frantic, letting a little air out accidentally. Oh God, oh God, I'm going to drown. It took a few moments for her to really fear for her life, but it wasn't long after that she gave up. She let all the air out and seconds later she was at the surface.
They'd come up in a small river in the forest, wet, but alive and unharmed.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma came up shivering, soaked to the bone, grateful for the help that Hrothbert gave her in hauling herself out of the water. She was shaking like a leaf, her clothes clinging to her and further emphasizing her still-unhealthily-skinny frame.
It seemed to have slipped both of their minds that they had the ability to dry themselves in an instant. Both nobles stood on the banks, helping the others out of the water, still soaked.

Chris gasped and looked around.
She had panicked and was getting her thoughts out of the whirling spiral of,
"WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE BABY WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE BABY!!???"
"That was...Frightening.." Chris muttered as she swam out of the river.
She shook of a bit and shuddered.

"I hate water. Throw me out of an airlock any day of the week, but drowning? Forget it." the Imperator thought as he helped Kaok's human side out of the water.
Remus was lucky enough to get through the ordeal quickly, as Perseverance, Valiance and his equipment pulled him down at a fast rate. Still, it was not a pleasant trip to the other side.

James still coughed and sputtered and couldn't see past the hair that was now in his face, but nevertheless spent the moments following their arrival in the river making sure that Chris was alright.
Evros appeared to have been completely fine the entire trip, and was now in the process of closing up the gills that had appeared on the side of his neck during the ordeal. He looked around briefly at the flora and fauna of that particular area, trying to assess their exact location.
"We're on Gaia."
Cairndeer nodded. "If it showed this to Kaok's other half, I wouldn't doubt that. I think I know what part we're in, but-."
A sound came from behind a nearby tree, almost too soft to hear, a creature had hidden from sight. Had they startled it? Perhaps a more important question was why it was watching them.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma turned, water still dripping from her gray-streaked hair and her dress. Hrothbert had already shed his jacket, wringing out the material as he looked around for the source of the noise. Both of his hands were occupied, but there was the sense that he could have a sword out and a spell ready in an instant if necssary.

Remus had his gun out in an instant and was aiming it towards the noise. Being a veteran of several battles, he didn't take any chances. Last time he ignored a small noise, one of his Praetorians got dragged into a hole and got ripped apart by a large reptilian creature.

The two doctors were on their guard as well, James putting his fists up in a somewhat ridiculous-looking attempt at appearing tough. Evros had his own gun out now, pointing it in that general direction.
The something behind the tree didn't turn out to be a large reptilian creature, but a young Faun. Dressed, hornless and at the moment shaking from fear.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma stepped forward instinctively, putting herself between the Faun and the weapons. "Put the guns down." She recognized the little Faun on sight.
The enchantress looked behind her at the younger Kaok, smiling softly. It was good to see her.

Remus blinked a few times before holstering his sidearm. He felt a little stupid, but at least they weren't taken by surprise. The Imperator managed to smile, though he was a little more saddened by all these events that were occurring.
"My apologies, little one. I thought you were a monster." the imperator said warmly.
