I liked Reno from Advent Children much better. In the game I hated him in the game, I always wanted to kick his butt every time I saw him. He was hilarious in the movie,Yo.

I like the Reno in the movie alot better! He fits more perfectly in the role of a laid back-goofish person. But I think in the game, he's more... smarter?

Reno in the movie made me think of my boyfriend in more ways then one. -Bright red hair -a big goof ball
I guess thats why I like the movie Reno more. But...smug does still have its appeal too.

I liked game Reno a lot better then in the movie, which I have officially named "Monkey-boy." xp He was hilarious, I love his face when Cloud slams the door in his face and when he breaks Rude's glasses. But dude, they had him scaling walls left and right. . . Hence "Monkey-boy."

In both movie and game, Reno was just a charming man.
He definitely was different in the movie, but that was because Reno and Rude served as the comic relief.

Personally, I thought there was a nice balance. And think about it this way. Shinra has fallen, so they really don't have a job anymore. The only thing they're really doing is protecting Rufus. They don't have to take on all the darker missions anymore. The only reason Reno was so serious on the game is because he was on the clock. I can totally see him being a huge goof when he's not working. I liked their fight scenes too... I mean, they held their own against three Sephiroth clone/brother guys.
I personally thought he looked like Spider-man... lol. They should have put more Elena and Tseng in there too. I mean hell, none of us knew Tseng even survived the Temple of the Ancients til the movie came out. The least they could do was put more of him in there! ^^

I always got the "funny smug" feel from Reno, though... I guess I could see how you'd consider that bumbling though

i thought that too, til i went back and played the game. if you watch and gauge reno and rude's reactions in the game, and then imagine their film counterparts trying to do the same thing, you realise that they always looked a bit daft; all their actions and mannerisms were way exaggerated.
as for "did elena die"? i'm sure she didn't; if i remember correctly, you see her and tseng again very briefly later in the film. kadaj and co. definitely messed tham up bad though.

You spelled that title wrong. It's supposed to be "Reno in the movie is cooler than Reno in the game."

Hence "Monkey-boy." he can't be monkey-boy, monkey-boy is my friend's nickname, due to his ridiculous basketball playing abilities. he plays like a demented monkey, and is impossible to check or block. razz

I have my little bro calling Reno Spiderman when we watch Advent Children together 3nodding
Anyways, I don't notice much of a difference, really; In the game Reno tries to be cool, in the movie he tries to be cool. In the game be gets his butt kicked, in the movie he also gets his butt kicked. In the game he is sorta semi-comic relief, in the movie he's definetly comic relief. The only thing that struck me as being a little out of character was Rude speaking up more often than not. In the game it was not, I think he says maybe all of three words in it's entirety.
