Something was extremely wrong with Grayson, and Ignacio had caught it, but he hadn't dared to approach it yet. Perhaps he was getting better on his own. Perhaps he wasn't. In any case, he seemed happy enough for now, and Ignacio gave a goofy grin as he took the arm Grayson was poking him with an looped his own arm around it. Of course, he wasn't being affectionate. If anything, he was just being goofy.
Grayson's next remark made Ignacio frown, though. Really? Talk with Elke? "I've already run into her. She continues to hate me as per usual for no reason." He had let go of Grayson at this point, instead crossing his arms over his chest with an expression of irritation that almost looked wrong on Ignacio's face. "She actually told me you were here, indirectly, but I think she really meant for me to feel bad for ruining something or other..."
What had he been doing again? Oh right, just innocently looking at the speaker wiring! What the hell did she think she was doing, ruining the only thing that had seemed fun at the party. "I didn't bother you because you were dancing with Imogen." Ignacio's mind had suddenly railed back onto the subject as he continued to move towards the table.
"Besides, I don't see Elke anymore. Maybe she went away." He hoped she went away. Ignacio may have thought of Grayson as one of his best friends, but he couldn't stand his little sister. She hated him for no logical reason and it did nothing but frustrate him. What the hell did he ever do to her, anyway?! Ignacio had never even talked to her over at Organ Pines, and that was the only place he had even seen her at before he started running into her more often at the Graves' house!
...Stupid immature girl.

No, instead Melody rolled her eyes at his antics and smiled sweetly. "I can see we'll have to agree to disagree on that statement," was her teasing tone, though she was a bit serious. Melody wasn't keen on being late at all if she could help it. And considering she would have been on time had her mother not interfered, she was quite displeased with said woman.
When Azzo took her hand the lingering feeling of displeasure towards her mom vanished and she moved to follow, heat coloring her cheeks a pale pink. But the thought of food reminded her that she had not eaten and her stomach rumbled with a bit of hunger. Still it wasn't enough to disengage her mind from thoughts of her "date".
"Yea, sounds good."

"I really wish you two could get along. But, well, I can't force it. I respect that you don't like each other very much." He wrinkled his nose, thinking it a waste. "We'll see, though. She might sit with her friend Pierrette." Who also happened to be Grayson's friend, in one way or another. He hoped to get the chance to talk to her before the evening was done.
Grayson sighed a little, but it wasn't the sigh of someone who was seriously put out. He was just a little exasperated, and as they went up the stairs, he cast a slightly bemused look to his friend. It wasn't like he could really explain why Elke disliked him, especially when he only knew of the reasons from Barren Pines... who knew what else he'd done in the interim to make Elke irritated with him. They seemed to butt heads whenever they saw one another, and he was a bit powerless to do anything about it.
He really wished he wasn't. It would make life so much easier when Elke came to visit at the house. But, well, one couldn't have everything.
Or, apparently, when they were Grayson, they couldn't even have most things.
He sighed again, softer this time, and reached for Ignacio's arm once more. Though the other boy had crossed his, Grayson wanted the reassurance of a friend. So, he casually curled his fingers around the curve of Ignacio's elbow, rested them there while they walked. It wasn't long before the tables came in view, and Grayson slid into a seat, smiling up at Ignacio.
"This looks good. Have you ever had fondue before? I think Pop made it once, and it was pretty good. It smells good," he added, sniffing appreciatively.

-She had no sooner got there, attempted to greet him, and shifted to a position of comfort when someone else appeared, voice rising to overshadow the question she'd just asked.
Cerulean eyes turned, gazing at the familar figure momentarily, before she offered a soft smile. It was Eve and.. apparently they knew each other.. and fairly well at that. Just like everyone else in the world who wasn't her it would seem. The thought of being a third wheel to a round of flirtation churned the ivory haired girl's stomach.-
"Ahhh, well. You two have fun." -She replied, lifting one hand delicately as she turned away. She could see the waiters preparing and setting up things. A blessing in disguise.
Making her way towards the tables, she paused to listen politely to the instructions given by the waiter. She'd had fondue before but... well atleast someone was talking to her.-

"You're welcome," said Tate, "Thank you, too." She didn't acknowledge on the 'cutting in line' comment--she was thinking about it, sure, but didn't want to-- You know, this was why she liked Ladon more! Ladon talked straight, not in great big circles that made her think about stuff, stuff like why it mattered so much that he was still talking to Pierrette and she wanted to talk to him and.
Where were they going? The stairs were the--
Tate slowed down, quite literally dragging one foot at the question, trying to. No. "You have to bring that back up," she sighed, pressing her free hand to her eyes, carefully, so as not to disturb the gold eyeshadow. "Look, it's just, there's a term for guys like you in manga and it's just, well, the fandom term is 'unicorn'. Anyway. Because they're supposed to not exist? But you do..."
With another squeeze to her new best friend (like everyone there wasn't a friend) and her acquiescence, Elke led Imogen up the stairs and then--there was Grayson! And Ignacio. She sighed, looked thoughtful, and then she pulled Imogen over to the table. "Hi Grayson! Can we sit with you?" And then, without waiting for an answer, she sat down next to Grayson, with Imogen on the other side. "You were dancing with Imogen earlier and you guys looked so cute and Pierrette was talking to a friend so I just figured I would come up and sit at you guys!"
And then she plucked one of the carnations from her hair and put it behind Ignacio's ear, smiling as she did so. "Fiddling with any wires lately, Ignacio?"

"Elke, of course, I'd love to sit with you. It's been a while..." Imo had lingered after dancing with Grayson unsure where to go now. He was a good partner, she'd have to remember that. Not certain whether to go sit or join a table for food or mingle she was only too happy to see Elke. Besides giving her something to do, somewhere to go, she was someone Imogen considered a friend, someone to get to know better if she could. In person that is. Imo was already a fan of her blog.
"Hey guys." She slid into the seat next to Elke and flashed a smile at Grayson and at Ignacio. Ignacio she tilted her head at just a fraction. Trying to remember him. He'd been at BP too, she knew, but wasn't someone she'd known that well either. But hey, that just meant it was like meeting someone new, and Imo was not the shy kind of gal.

Azzo escorted Melody up stairs and started to look for a place to sit. He smiled when he noticed Aurora, he walked over with a smile, of course after the waiter had time to explain things only did he speak. "Aurora. Fancy seeing you here."
He looked towards Melody and then Aurora again, "I don't suppose you two have met yet have you?" He paused for a second before introducing the two no matter if they'd met or not. "Aurora this is Melody, Melody, Aurora. I don't know if you know this Melody but Aurora attends Crystal too."
He didn't care to 'flirt' he enjoyed talking more, when he didn't mind talking. However he was hoping the girls would start talking and he could just go back to listening to people talk. This also would perhaps keep Melody busy as well, he could sneak off eventually if things got feeling too stressed. That is if Aurora didn't mind them sitting with her, it was ingenious really. "May we join you? I'd hate to see a pretty face alone with no one to chit chat with."

(( OH GOD. I was gone for two days. This thing exploded. Allow me to do an awkward "HAHAHA FALLON HERE THE WHOLE TIME" post. >.> ))
More and more faces poured through the door, some more familiar than others. Fallon had quiet conversations with those she knew, sipping lightly at the edge of a cranberry spritzer. When Grayson approached, she beamed to see that he recognized her. Her only sign of comraderie was a soft touch at the sleeve of his shirt. "I need to excuse myself to the ladies' room, but save a dance for me -- okay?" With that, she disappeared to powder her nose, adjust the straps on her shoes, and all those other magical things that girls do in bathrooms.
When she returned, there were more faces, more people, and Fallon did her best to navigate the crowd without getting too annoyed or too pushy. She was mildly successful. Her eyes froze on two faces in particular: Ladon, the boy from the terrifying day in the park, and Howl, the polite boy from Pen & Ink. Wow, did Jada know all of these people? It was always interesting to how lines and relationships crossed in Destiny City. Fallon smiled politely, dropped off more hellos, and then moved to the next room to get a little air.
Basically, she was social, if not memorable. That's the jist here.
When the waiters moved upstairs, Fallon moved with them, taking her seat at Jada's table as indicated. It had been a long time since she had done fondue, but Fallon considered it something of a culinary experiment. Using the basic ingredients, how special could she make her dish? Time to find out! Lifting a skewer, Fallon used her napkin to polish it and then eyed the selection of cheeses to find the optimal one.

-She heard her name called, glancing away from the waiter after a polite nod of the head, searching for the source, surprised to find the boy she'd met only recently, with a girl in tow.-
"Hello Azzo." -She replied with a soft smile, surprised he'd actually come to visit her after their.. awkward conversation in the park. Pausing as the introductions were made, she reached a hand out lightly to the other girl, smiling softly.- "Hello, I'm Aurora Namid, pleasure to meet you"
-At his request she nodded, perhaps too excitedly, to the offer.- "Oh certainly, there are plenty of spots open. Have you guys had fondue before? It's a little messy but quite fun I think."

Grayson was pleased that his sister and Imogen were sitting by them, and because of that, he reached for Ignacio's wrist and gave it a light squeeze under the table. Not the questing reach of a lover, but more of a hey, behave sort of gesture; he hoped Ignacio understood it, and more importantly, heeded it. The last thing he wanted was to have the two of them arguing at the party.
Which also meant that he had to keep an eye on Elke. She was a kitten most of the time, but when she put her mind to it, she could brandish a pretty little pair of claws. "I'm glad you're sitting with us. It'd be pretty lonely if it was just me and Ignacio," he said, smiling, as he nodded toward Imogen.
She really was a nice girl. He felt like he wanted to get to know her better, though he wasn't exactly certain why. Probably just because she was nice and was able to dance well, he told himself.
Glancing back to Elke, he said mildly, "I didn't see you dancing, Elke. If the floor opens up again, you'll have to dance with me."
Whatever Ignacio had been doing with the wires (he'd been doing something with the wires?) Grayson hoped it could be forgotten in favor of food and a good time. He was actually enjoying himself, and he wanted it to stay that way.

After the host had taken her coat and invitation, Calintha awkwardly made her way alone into the party. She saw a few people that she knew, and mainly she was shocked to see the large amount of former classmates. What was this, a Barren Pines survivors convention? She saw Fallon, Grayson, Elke, Ignacio, Melody and several others whose names had escaped her grasp for the moment. Gingerly stepping forward, she looked around the room in desperation for someone to talk to.
She easily could've joined Ignacio at that table, but it was already looking fairly full, and Calintha didn't know the others at the table very well. Seeing her indecision, one of the waiters stepped forward and indicated her assigned seating, straight across the table from Fallon. "Hello." She nodded her head at Fallon and smiled politely. "How are you tonight?" She hadn't really talked to Fallon since the hospital, but it was good to see a familiar face. Calintha felt a bond with her, just like she did with many of the Barren Pines students. Common evil went a long way.

"Calintha."
The words were out of Fallon's mouth before she had time to form a more polite greeting. She had minimal contact with the blond girl while they were at Barren Pines together, but they had been in the same hospital room in the aftermath. Laying in a bed 24 hours a day provided much time for discussion.
A cube of cheese was skewered on her fork, but she set in down. "I'm fine, I'm good. How are you? It's been a while. I'm sorry I haven't called you sooner. With all the confusion..." She shrugged impassively. Things were crazy for all of the BP kids, at least that was what Fallon assumed, but she hoped the other girl was not put off by their lack of contact.
Tucking a strand of hair that had fallen from her updo behind one ear, Fallon smiled. "Have you settled into Meadowview all right?" Before Fallon left the hospital, she knew that Calintha had already been placed in a school -- a school that was not the one the cinnamon-haired girl would attend. Perhaps if they had ended up at the same school they would have spoken more?

Alas, Miss Tatiana's feet were acting as if they had been caught up in quicksand, dragging rather heavily to the ground. This would make it a bit more difficult to approach the bar if she was going at the pace of a snail.
However, it seemed that she was less than thrilled by the subject he chose, so it made sense as to why she slowed so drastically. Not wanting to make the subject seem so serious, he laughed slightly and dared to use his free hand to place it under her chin.
"I apologize, but this was one of those times where my cat-like curiousity insisted I learn more about the subject." His fingers slipped away before he added "I am still of the mindset that it is a charming pet name though." There wasn't a hint of any sour mood or confusion on his face, despite the fact there might have been more questions on his mind. He was just living up to that nickname it would seem. Or perhaps he was just trying to continue to play the role of the distraction as they steadily made their way to the bar. Hopefully Mr. Shepard and company did not flee before they made it there.

"I would if I were you Elke, Grayson's a good partner." Imo chirped up. He was too, though she'd upgrade have to up grade it if the boy knew how to swing at all. Maybe she'd ask later, not to actually swing, just if he knew how. Not really the kind of place to swing in. While the boothes and dance floor had made the restaurant loose some of it's intimate air, it still gave Imo the impression that waltzing, ballroom or teenager-ish swaying together was more called for.
"Have you had fondue before?" She asked, sort of directing the question at Ignacio so it didn't seem like she was ignoring him. It was never nice to exclude someone at the table after all - or anywhere else for that matter.

As Azzo led her up the stairs, and then over to a striking young woman that no Melody had not yet met. Then again, to be fair, she hadn't really integrated into Crystal enough to meet anyone she may be attending with. She'd started classes but wouldn't be moving into her dorm just yet. But it was nice to meet some one she'd see around campus!
The blonde took the other's extended hand in a gentle handshake, a loose grip that wouldn't hurt but wasn't too lose with a soft shake, a smile on her tan face. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Namid. I'm Melody Klein~"
Aurora was cute, though she felt bad that it seemed such a nice girl was off on her own, and she hoped they might get to know each other a little better at some point. "Oh, what kind of fondue is it? The Christmas parties my mother's company holds often have chocolate fondue, so it's really all I've had."
