"Is..that...Reika-Chan?" She screams, "REIKA! REIKA-CHAN!"

"Not long ago." she said. She walked up to the boy and Chibi-Usa.

Adrian grinned and looked around at the members of his band, his attention stopping briefly on Kyou and following the angel's gaze. He saw Lucis in the crowd and resisted the urge to say something. Instead, he looked around to Kira and Raoul and nodded. Raoul moved to the synthesizer as Adrian nudged Kyou, who put down his bass in favor of Raoul's guitar.

"This next one is probably going to be our last for tonight, and when you hear what it is, you'll understand," the swordsman said.

Raoul and Kira started playing simultaneously, the sound of a harpsichord emerging from the synthesizer. After a few moments of their rapid playing, Adrian and Kyou jumped in on guitars and picked the tempo up even further. After a brief, furious riff, Adrian began to sing as Raoul was left the only one playing:

"On a cold winter morning, in the time before the light
In flames of death's eternal reign we ride towards the fight
When the darkness has fallen down, and the times are tough all right
The sound of evil laughter falls around the world tonight."

The two guitarists and Kira picked back up, falling into more a supplemental role.

"Fighting hard, fighting on for the steel, through the wastelands evermore
The scattered souls will feel the hell bodies wasted on the shores
On the blackest plains in hell's domain, we watch them as we go
In fire and pain, and once again we know..."

Kyou began singing with Adrian as the band moved into the chorus:

"So now we fly ever free
We're free before the thunderstorm
On towards the wilderness our quest carries on
Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight
Deep inside our hearts and all our souls

So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on."

Adrian took over, playing a complex, high-tempo solo entirely on the fret board, before moving into the second verse:

"As the red day is dawning
And the lightning cracks the sky
They'll raise their hands to the heavens above
With resentment in their eyes
Running back from the mid-morning light
There's a burning in my heart
We're banished from a time in a fallen land
To a life beyond the stars

In your darkest dreams see to believe
Our destiny is time
And endlessly we'll all be free tonight."

Kyou came back on vocals as they continued:

"And on the wings of a dream, so far beyond reality
All alone in desperation, now the time has gone
Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind
Day after day this misery must go on

So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on!"

Adrian buckled down and readied himself for the lengthy solo ahead, and so Kyou do the same beside him. Both of them played with all their might, all their hearts, and Adrian's hands moved to the fret board again for the higher parts of the solo. The swordsman could dimly hear the crowd going wild below them. Kira hammered out furiously on the drums behind him, Raoul giving them all the background noises necessary to make the song whole.

Finally, after three minutes (which seemed like an eternity), they hit the third and final verse:

"Now here we stand with their blood on our hands
We fought so hard now can we understand
I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can
For freedom of every man

"So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on!"

Adrian picked up the final guitar solo, Kyou joining him for the second portion, falling back to rhythm after it was over. They played out the finish of the song, Kira letting her sticks fall from her hands. Adrian looked around at the rest of his band, and they smiled. They were all breathing heavily, but they were smiling. They loved doing this. And from the sound of it, the audience got a kick out of it too.
