Yeah, Sholazar thought, suppressing a yawn as he glanced back to this dream. Bored now. How to Spice this up... though? He let his mind drift from the dreams he was focused on to one not at all of his making... well... to several. He skimmed dreams like a reader browsing a rack in a book store. A look here, a peek there, trying to find an interesting dreamer that could liven up the cave in. He found many of note for other dreams. The one for this dream, however, was harder.
He finally found what he sought, in all places, in a fireplace. But the dreamer snoozing atop a pile of logs was no Cinderella. A fire demon, of all things. Sholazar had seen and crafted many demons in his time but this one was different. No wings, no barbed tail... but a feeling of fire, and more, of power. Sholazar was fascinated. He wanted to learn more about this odd demon, and a dream was the best way to do it. Who said "demons don't dream" (ten points if you know!) This one certainly was. A moving castle, a magic carpet, a bookworm. All sorts of odd things were jumbled in this Demon dream. But.... how best to make use of it?
Well, what if the demon believed he was held captive by a spell. That happened to demons all the time, didn't it? They were summoned and had to fulfill the clauses of their summoning... he searched Calficer's dream and found a hint of that. Though what was around it made no sense. Where the past years are....? Even Sholazar had never crafted a dream so odd. Regaurdless, he now had a plan. Happily he dragged Calcifer's dream, shaping it as he went, until it merged with the one that had become boring. If the Amu girl was afraid of ghosts, he would see how she would handle a Fire Demon. Satisfied with his work. Sholazar sat back to watch.
Calcifer felt his dream changing, but it was a dream. He went with it. Sophie would wake him when it was time to cook breakfast. Or Morgan would. So he felt the dream shift and rode it. Tell me where the past years are. That had been some adventure. Back in the days when Howl had been a heartless heart breaker forever in and out of like with various girls, and, as sophie put it, being a slitherer outter. But that was in the past, even in the dream. Calcifer was free of the spell that had chained him to that hearth for so long. He could go where he wished. But where he had been and where he now wished to be were so often the same. He felt the hooks of the spell claw into him again. His eyes widened, his flames flared. No. NO. He won his freedom! NO!
Calcifer felt the spell close around him, and he was furious. He had to keep the people in the cave from leaving the cave. And rose, he was still tied to his logs but he had LEGS! If he had to have limbs, why did they have to cost him his freedom. Oh he'd have words with Howl and Sophie about letting this happen! But first he had to satisfy the spell before he could leave.
He was sitting, all four...LEGS... really. LEGS? Not even something useful like ARMS? What good were legs to some one who couldn't leave his logs? Anyway, he was sitting with all four legs bent beneath him, upon the logs. It wasn't too uncomfortable, at least. He saw one of the people coming. She was like him, he noted. Well, she had four legs, If anything she looked like a horse some one had the poor sense to shove clothing and a wig on. But that was humans all over, not a lick of sense between them. Well, except maybe Sophie. Certainly not Howl! Howl.... if this was his doing... Calcifer shook his head and let the flames leap higher, surrounding his new odd body in fire. "None shall pass!" he said. Great. He was being over dramatic. Way too much time too close to Howl's heart... He was beginning to act like him, heavens forbid.

With a yelp, Amu stumbled back, then stared. "Wh...what are you?"

Tadase lifted his head worriedly when he heard Amu's yelp echo through the caves. "Amu-chan?"
