kaiyo-chan Izu_Reia Leithia Izu_Reia Leithia Currently Reading: Everything's Eventual by Stephen King Manga: I haven't read any manga in a looong time....I haven't gotten a chance to buy any new ones or get to the library ooo. I've read that Lei. They're really good. ^_^ I still like The Shinning the best though. Manga wise: I just finished Kare Kano Vol. 14 and 15. sweatdrop I love Stephen King, curently reading "The Stand: uncut version" Kare Kano is awesome too 3nodding I love Kare Kano, and Fruits Basket. biggrin I still need to read "The Stand". My creative writing teacher kept making refrences to us about it in class. I need to go rent it. sweatdrop I just finished Chrno Crusade 5 the other day. eek heart I, too, share a love for the Fruits Basket and Kare Kano. 3nodding My boyfriend works at a bookstore and he just ordered Furuba 10 and Kare Kano 16 for me this week. whee And, speaking of Yuu Watase, has anyone else read the first volume of Shoujo Beat, yet? Not only does it offer her newest, but also Nana (awesome) and Godchild (a kind of shoujo horror that I really enjoyed). It's a good price, too, about $6. I'm going to get the subscription though, $30 for 12 issues! eek whee I also just picked up Shoujo Beat today. It's really good, and I might subscribe or just buy a new one every month. Furuba Vol. 10 was suppose to be in today, but wasn't. cry It's okay I need to get Kare Kano Vol. 16 too. I love those two series. Anything by Watase is great too. *has all the watase volumes that are out* Speaking of which Kaiyo-chan do you by any chance read FY?

Viz has a lot of great titles, but they normally screw them up somehow (poor translations, always late, poor layout, etc.) and I felt like it was really targeted to pre-teens, I was scared it was going to be way to kiddy (for some reason they think pre-teens want everything to be dumbed down for them, I don't get it (not what I wanted at that age) rolleyes ), then I read it and it was great! eek Except I'm not too big on some of their titles, but I still think they did a great job. 3nodding As for FY, Reia, I have like the first 5 volumes, but it was so expensive at the time (this was before Viz went to the smaller $10 manga) and I've watched the entire anime, so I never really finished it. It is in my "someday I really will finish collecting this" pile, so ... someday. sweatdrop

It's like a 3-4 hour card ride. I have all the old huge volumes of FY up to 9ish I think and then they started makng the smaller one's and I'm up to 14. I have the whole Alice 19th series, a part of the Ceres series, and the whole Imadoki series. I really love Watase despite that some people think her endings are bad or that she's running low on ideas. For Fy my favorite character is Chichiri at least until the OVA and then I finally fell for Taka. xd

She has most of Ceres, all of Alice 19th, and all of Imadoki. So, I've read all of those. I love her work as well. It seems everytime I read something of her's I'm like "Wow, now this one is even better than the last title. This one is my favorite." But then she puts out something new and it starts all over again. sweatdrop Nuriko is my favorite from FY, both anime and manga. (Although Hotohori is a close second.) 3nodding

Not to mention the prequel to FY, FY:GK is comming out this month and it costs less than the original FY series. whee

For school, I'm making my way slowly through Steinbeck's East of Eden. And for manga, I recently re-read a couple volumes of Confidential Confessions.

kemu I just started reading manga currently. So far I have read: - Gunslinger Girl Volumes 1 and 2 - Hot Gimmick Volume 1 - Soul to Seol Volume 1 - X Day Volumes 1 and 2 Has anyone heard of these mangas? Hot Gimmick is the best! whee (I just read volume 9.) I loved X-Day. Sadly, it is only two volumes long. eek crying Don't get me wrong, I think one-shots can be just as awesome as a long series, but X-Day didn't really feel over. Kare Kano is awesome. I have to say I find the anime very impressive, as well. Up until the last few episodes it is really just like watching the manga. 3nodding Of course, the manga's storyline continues on far past the anime. As for Shojo Beat, mine came from B.Dalton, but you can probably find it just about anywhere that carries manga. Specifically Borders/Walden's seems to have some kind of business agreement with Viz, so they may be a little more likely to carry it. 3nodding
