(Yeah, I got the announcement. I was just offline when it appeared.)

Well, he was just dropped in the wrong family, Nozomi wrote. I don't think his family left him or anything. I was abandoned because I couldn't talk... Suddenly, he felt something in his eyes and he wiped at them, soon figuring out that there were tears. It was yet another time that he had felt alone... and afraid. Even now, even when he was with Kiba, he felt that nobody was there. Maybe he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and nothing that happened was actually real.

Silent sobs soon left him, but he knew they couldn't be heard. For all anyone knew, he was probably starting to have a seizure or something. In reality, however, he was just scared. What if he was never allowed to leave in the first place, and that he left because he was just imagining a kind hospital volunteer? What if he had broken into a stranger's house, thinking that it belonged to his seemingly imaginary friend? What if he thought he was writing, but it there was actually nothing in his hands at all? That would mean that either he had schizophrenia or he had gone insane.

Kiba's eyes widened as he noticed the small droplets of water overflowing Nozomi's eyes. Why was the boy crying? Then the young man looked down at the booklet in his hands and understood. The last sentence... the boy wasn't thinking while he was writing.

Quietly, Kiba picked up Nozomi and placed him on his lap. He stroked his hair softly, as if the boy were his younger brother. "Shh, it's okay. It's okay." He whispered quietly. "I know how you feel... exactly."

Nozomi just shook his head, but he just couldn't write. His hand was too shaky now, and he was afraid that whatever he would write down wouldn't be understood. Besides, he was afraid that this whole thing had been imaginary.

He didn't know what to think. All that was happening around him seemed very strange. Sure, he was afraid that Kiba was only an imaginary friend, but he seemed so real. Everything that had happened right now just seemed too real to be imaginary, but yet too good to be true.

"What's wrong, Nozomi?" Kiba whispered. "You're shaking, what's wrong?" He asked, quite frankly worried. The boy had just started crying out of the blue.

Then it hit Kiba. The boy was afraid of something. Afraid of losing something? Maybe... after all, the boy had been abandoned, which technically could insinuate a belief of losing everything. But what else? Nozomi wasn't a very young boy, so living with the thought of losing his family shouldn't have made him cry. Could it be... he thought he was going to lose something else?

Nozomi attempted to write about it so he wouldn't make Kiba worry, but all that was on the paper were scribbles that were hard to read if not impossible. He didn't know what he was trying to say except that he was afraid that everything wasn't real. Even while he wrote, he was afraid that he wasn't writing anything at all.

Kiba silently held the younger boy, stroking his hair and whispering to him that everything was going to be okay. Seeing the boy try to write on the pad, the young man took the pad and pen away from the boy entirely, in case Nozomi should attempt to hurt himself in the process.

"Nozomi, listen to me. Everything is going to be okay." He whispered so close to the boy's ear, that he swear he could have bitten it if he had intended to. Not that he would, since he really didn't have any 'particular' interesting the young boy. "Everything... is going to be fine."

Nozomi panicked a little when he felt the notepad and pen being taken from his trembling and nonresponding hands. For that moment he had expected Kiba to disappear, as if he was being wrenched from a dream that he didn't want to wake up from. If he was in a comatose state, somehow dreaming such a real dream, then he wanted to stay that way.

He shook his head once more, but continuously this time. His hands were clasped together and he began mouthing prayers like there was no tomorrow. His mind was scrambled, and he didn't bother to realize how ridiculous he was acting. Common sense was just a prisoner in the back of his mind.

The mob of people were slowly dying down behind them, and Kiba knew they only had a little bit of time before the two men that were following them may find them again. He immediately picked up the younger boy bridal style and began walking out of the park.

Many eyes turned towards the young man as he entered the hospital. The head nurse was trying to figure out what was wrong, but Kiba refused to answer her. Many of the other staff were looking at him as if he'd done something wrong. Maybe he had, but he'd have to wait for the boy to calm down. He entered the room, and set Nozomi down on the bed, closing and locking the door behind him.

"Now, tell me what's wrong." Kiba said quietly, tossing the pad and pencil onto the bed next to the blonde.

After a little while, which included the time it took for Kiba to carry him back to the hospital, Nozomi finally calmed down enough to be able to write. He looked around for the notepad and pen, which were next to him, and then took them and started to write.

I'm sorry. I just remembered something about schizophrenia and I thought I might be diagnosed with it, he wrote, though still wondering if he was really writing anything. I was afraid that you might not be real.

((It's funny that you bring up Schizophrenia. I was diagnosed with it a few years ago.))

Kiba didn't look over at Nozomi. He saw the boy writing something down, but he didn't look at what the boy had to say. Somehow, it was almost as if Kiba didn't want to know what was going through the younger boy's head while he was uncontrollably crying in the park. Those men had probably heard him, too. They probably followed him back, since Kiba wasn't really paying attention to who was following them where or what. What was going to happen next...?

Finally, he looked down at the paper, eyeing the words, "I was afraid that you might not be real." Schizophrenia? Odd behavioral disorder to diagnose yourself with, is it not?

"I'm pretty sure that I'm real. Don't worry, I'm no illusion." The green haired young man smiled kindly. "You're not Schizo, trust me."

(Really? What a coincidence. I learned about schizophrenia in Health class.)

Nozomi looked up at Kiba with sad and questioning eyes, but he didn't write anything down. He decided he might as well take the volunteer's word for it and hope that what he said was true. He had been sure that he had gone mad after a month of being alone, after Mother disappeared. If only he could be sure that Kiba was real, then he wouldn't have suddenly cried and made a fool out of himself.

Even now, Nozomi expected Kiba to suddenly disappear. Everything seemed so real, however, that his fear was starting to fade away. He decided that, real or not, he might as well shrug off his fear at the moment. When or if the fear was confirmed, then he would worry about it.

((Yep. For the longest time, I thought I had an older sister.))

Finally, it was time for Kiba to go home. Of course, he really didn't feel like going back to his lonely apartment. Besides, what if the men from earlier were waiting outside? He would prefer not to go with them. Finally, he asked the head nurse if he could stay the night, and he got permission. He was happy when he told the news to Nozomi.

"Great news. I'm sleeping over tonight." The young man smiled, walking in with a blanket and a pillow. He may have gone home to get his clothes and stuff, but Kiba didn't for fear of the men. Besides, if he didn't come back, Nozomi's schizo fears would turn reality."

(So, was it disappointing to find out that you didn't?)

That's nice to hear, Nozomi wrote, smiling a little. He was still afraid, however, because he didn't know why Kiba was staying. It wasn't that he didn't want him to stay, he actually liked the fact that Kiba was staying for the night, but his paranoia was starting to get the best of him.

Even with all the worry, Nozomi didn't write a question asking why. He was afraid that it would bother Kiba, if he was real. To get over his fear, he began to draw pictures, mainly of a life that he wished he had. Strangely, he had included Kiba in the pictures.

(I was happy that I didn't have a sister. I'm happy enough with my brother, even if he is as straight as a circle. smile )

Kiba looked down at Nozomi's pictures after setting up the couch into an off-looking bed. They were nice pictures, but Kiba couldn't help but notice that one of the people in the pictures looked like him. The green hair, the glasses... It just looked too much like it.

"What are you drawing there?" Kiba asked, sitting down next to the younger boy. "I like that person there. He's quite handsome, don't you think?" The young man joked, smiling kid-ishly at the younger boy.

(So, everything turned out okay for ya. That's nice to read.)

Nozomi blushed at Kiba's comment and nodded in agreement. Yeah, I guess so, he wrote. Um... I was drawing a life and family that I wished I had. For some reason, I was thinking about how nice it would be if you were my brother. It seemed a bit sudden that he began to think that, since he had only met Kiba today.

As he continued to draw, he drew Mother, a woman with flowing golden hair and gentle brown eyes, standing in the shade of a tree while Nozomi and Kiba kicked a soccer ball in the grass. Mother had always told him of a typical happy family, and being a part of that family had always been his dream. Though she had promised to make it come true, it seemed that promises made to him weren't meant to be kept.
