Kai nodded breathlessly, tightening his grip on Tala's hand. "You do know that we're going to be prime gossip fodder while peopel try to figure out exactly what we were going on about?" He paused to consider that for a moment. "Maybe the question should be along the lines of Do you care?"

Kai chuckled at Tala's impersonations and pulled him into a hug, burying his head in the vibrant red hair of his lover. "You're insane." He told Tala matter of factly. He considered it. "That's possibly why everyone gossips about you, you know. How often do you get to meet a genuine crazy person?"

Brooklyn stared at the teacher dispondantly. The one question that had been plauging his mind was how Kai had known that Tala had that type of marking on him. Presumably it had happened during the lunchbreak. How had Kai known if after the lunchbreak he had spent all of his time with Brooklyn?

Kai smiled softly down at Tala, enjoying the feeling of the other boy so close to him. He missed not being able to do this unless they could find some way to get to extreme privacy, no matter how much lying, cheating and stealing it took to get that privacy.

Kai heard footsteps coming down the hallway and quickly sprang away from Tala, looking around panicked for the creator of the sound.

"We need to get to the office." Kai told him, reverting back to his public facade. The one where he didn't care anything about Tala. He began to walk toward the office, trusting that Tala would follow him.

Their math teacher rounded the corner.

Kai frowned where Tala couldn't see him. He hated doing this. He hated pretending that Tala was nothing more than an annoyance to him. It hurt him every time he had to look at the redhead with a disdainful eye, every time he had to make a con-committal but slightly scathing comment to him. Every time that he did something in order to protect Tala.

Since they had begun their illicit relationship earlier in the year Kai had been paranoid about anyone finding out about their... activities with each other. No for himself, he barely ranked on the social ladder. People finding out he was gay wouldn't affect him in the slightest. But Tala was semi-popular because of his rebel status and all it stood for. Kai didn't want to ruin Tala's school life because of his own selfish need to be public about their relationship.

"Hm?" Kai asked, stopping and backtracking to where Tala was. "What're you looking at?" He quickly glanced around the hall and wrapped his arm around Tala's waist, pulling teh smaller teen toward him until he could feel Tala's body heat all along one side of himself.

Kai raised one eyebrow. "Artistic?" He questioned. "My bird is more artistic." He paused. "Probably a lot smarter than half of the morons in photography too."

Kai's finger's absently began to run up and down Tala's side as he scrutinised the photo. "You know. I've never seen a bad photo of you. No matter what angle the camera's at or what light, every single picture makes you look hot to the finest extent."
