Pyren had stopped crying by this point but was the boy was definatly looking worse for wear. He was starting to see ones and zeros flashing about in many places and his eyes were starting to loose their orange color again.
Shane put Pyren back in his highchair and started to consider waking Jabir to ask for help as he worridly surveyed Pyren's condition. When Retta spoke up Shane turned to her as if seeing her for the first time; or at from at a different point of view.
"Hmmm!" he gasped in surprize at not realizing it before "I wonder, Retta, do you mind holding Pyren for a second to see if you can warm him up?"

Retta lowered her hands away from her ears once Pyren had stopped, still her ears were pressed flat against her head for precaution. Her brows furrowed together briefly as she pondered what she was to do now. She had volunteered, though unwittingly in order to stop Pyren from crying.
She sat herself down and stretched out her arms, as if asking for a hug. She didn't know if she could carry Pyren all by herself, so to be safe she'd hold him while they were on the floor.

Shane looked at Retta sitting on the floor, then to her wooly arms, then to Pyren. 'Maybe this will work' he thought to himself as he gently picked up Pyren and lay him in Retta's arms.
"Be sure to hold him very carefully." he instructed, showing her the proper way to hold a baby.
When Shane picked Pyren up, he immediatly started to tense, wondering where he was being taken. When he found himself in fluffy arms though, his entire body went from being rigid to simply never wanting to leave the cozy spot that he was placed. Pyren started to snuggle himself against the warm surface, and slowly found his vision to be getting alot clearer and he looked up to find himself faceing,
"Weta!" Pyren exclaimed, his voice reletively back to normal.

Retta carefully adjusted her hold on Pyren to mimic the way Shane had shown her. Upon contact with Pyren she began to feel ill, but the sensation quickly passed. Her ears perked at hearing her name, and while it sounded funny it wasn't like the voice Pyren had when he first said her name. She frowned, realizing she liked hearing the static-like voice more.
"Voice broken?" she asked Shane, still holding Pyren gently. She hoped she didn't have to hold him for too long...

Shane's heart leapt when he saw that Retta really was helping Pyren get better, and from the look on Pyren's face he was very comfortable laying in Retta's arms.
"No, that's how Pyren's voice is supposed to be." Shane let Retta know; almost hating to disapoint her.
However, he caught Retta's look on her face and tone in her voice that told him that holding Pyren was having an ill effect on her. He started to regret bringing up the small favor. Therefore as soon as Shane saw that Pyren was truely back to his normal self, Shane relived Retta of him.
When Shane came to pick Pyren out of Retta's arms he started to struggle to go back to Retta's comfort and gave a groan of "Wetaaa!" when Shane had gained full possesion of him again
"Thank you so much doctor Retta!" Shane said as he beamed, and gave her a title that he thought that she deserved. Shane then gave her an honest and greatful look "I really owe you one." he announced, while bouncing Pyren in his arms a bit, to keep the now lively child entertained.

The sheep Mishap nodded in understanding and mild disappointment that Pyren's voice was really meant to sound like that. It made the younger Mishap much more interesting for Retta. She smiled as Shane took Pyren from her arms and blushed at being called a doctor.
She knew that doctors helped people, and that if she was a good one she can be rich. Very rich, at least according to Haze. She doubted Shane would pay her for helping Pyren since she didn't ask for anything. But he did say he owed her for her aide.
She made a note to remember this in the future.
"Pyren better?" She asked, getting up on her feet to approach the pair.

Pyren was feeling much better and fully awake now. He started to fidget in Shane's arms, wanting to be put down so he could play now that he was feeling up to it. He started to voice these complaints in incomprehensable babble.
Shane sighed as he tried to controll Pyren's sudden burst of energy. He decided that the best thing to do would be to put him in his beany chair and give him his rattle so that he could keep himself entertained. Shane hadn't gotten around to organizing the play room yet, so the objects were conviniantly lying close to the main part of the room. So Shane brought them over into the kitchen and lay Pyren in the chair before turning back to Retta.
"Yeah, Pyren is much better, thanks to you Retta."
Pyren noticed that Shane was paying a little too much attention to Retta, and he also wanted to be feel Retta's warmth again so he tried to get her attention by twisting himself in his chair towards her direction and waving his rattle in her direction and called to her
"Wetaaaa"
Shane looked over to Pyren and back to Retta again and shrugged.
"I don't know Pyren, I think it's time doctor Retta went back to sleep don't you?" Shane said giving her a bit of a hint that it was getting late.
Pyren continued to attempt to get Retta's attention, clearly not wanting Retta to go back to sleep.
Shane laughed and shook his head as he stated to Retta "I don't want anybody to worry about where you are is all." he said, picturing what he'd do if he woke up to find Pyren missing in the middle of the night.

Retta stared blankly at Shane for a few moments before the understood what the undertones in his words meant. She nodded to the guardian before turning her attention to Pyren.
"Retta go now, but see again soon?" she offered, the little Mishap might prove entertaining in future encounters. Plus she had helped his condition, that would make him somewhat indebted to her. Of course she wasn't about to tell Shane any of this.
Haze, however, was a different matter. Surely her guardian wouldn't mind her ignoring her curfew just this once and she did get something out of it. She smiled sweetly at Pyren, stroking his hair softly and poking the rattle as well. With a small curtsey and wave, she left Pyren's room and headed back to her own quarters.

A New Craft?
After their recent encounter with Chao's charges, Haze thought it was high time to find out what talent Retta possessed. After several failed attempts at cooking (Keith banned them from the kitchen), music (Huni went out and bought everyone ear plugs), singing (Shimmer went ballistic and locked herself in the bathroom crying) and Yrast knows what else, Haze was at a loss.
"Is there nothing you excel at effortlessly?" Haze whined, not even concerned on what her disappointment would do to Retta psychologically.
The Mishap bleated in anger at Haze's tone. She folded her arms across her chest and sat down with a scowl. It was quite unlike her sweet, adorable self. But Retta didn't care, she was seething at the day's events. It wasn't her fault she didn't take to those things! How dare Haze?
A knock came from the door and without waiting for permission to enter, Keith stuck his head in.
"Huni says if you're still looking for something, she might have a suggestion."
"GET OUT! How dare you enter my room without permission!?!" Haze screeched indignantly, reaching out for something to hurl at the Chameleon.
Keith rolled his eyes and shoved a parcel into the room before disappearing back outside. Just in time too, as Haze had thrown a vase at the spot where his head head been seconds ago.
Retta ignored her guardian's rants and screams, although she did pick up a few words she would later be told to never ever use. The Mishap padded over to the parcel and ripped it open to reveal a starter kit on plushie making. There were needles, threads, stuffing, paints, dyes, and patterns.
The Mishap cooed in delight as she waved it to show Haze.
Haze eventually calmed down enough to notice what it was her charge held. "Doll making? I suppose that's an interesting craft, if your talents prove well it could turn into a ludicrous endeavour..." she grinned slyly.

Successful Attempts
Over the past few days, Retta has been making plushies for the Mishaps she had met. Under the supervision of her Aunt Huni, Retta managed to make several dolls, which her aunt suggested in calling "Sheepies."
While she stuffed the dolls with the kit's stuffing, Retta also made sure to slip in a small bit of her fur. Not enough to be noticed, but it would still be an extra addition. She smiled to herself, enjoying her task and how she would use these plushies.
They were just ordinary dolls, weren't they?

Gullien glanced around the hall, Lassa hanging off of one leg. Lassa was... well, she was dressed, if you called wearing an adult-sized t-shirt that read "Real Ultimate Power" and a diaper fashioned from a pillowcase dressed. At least the shirt mostly fit. It was clear that Lassa was going to need something else though. If Gullien tried to take her to a store like this, someone would probably call child services three seconds after they walked in the door. Sighing, Gullien shrugged and picked a door at random. Worse that would happen was that whoever was there didn't have clothes that would fit Lassa. Everyone's kid grew randomly, it seemed. Surely other people had had this problem. ... Right?
Whatever. She knocked, simply hoping someone would be home.

"Yes, is there something you need?" Haze asked as she opened the door. She wasn't dressed to entertain, at least not by her standards. She sported a black cotton shirt that clung to her body like a second skin, and pants with bright red sequins sewn in a cobweb-like pattern. She stood in the doorway, her head slightly inclined to the side as she stared at the pair before her.
Retta padded up from behind Haze and peered around her guardian's legs. Was the green-skinned one another Mishap? It certainly seemed like that to the Sheep Mishap.
