"Very good Shiro, but I would recommend you learn from books, not Triple Triad cards, " Aki says with a wink.
"It has two other weaknesses besides earth magic; holy and wind. These guys often appear in groups of two, so it's another one you should take care to study because one packs quite a punch all on its own. You ready Shiro? Time to fight!"
Aki pulls open the bars, and the Grendel comes charging out.

"Heh heh, yeah I know I know. Sorry teach, I'll do better next time I promise." He said shyly as he scratched his head. As soon as she Aki was about to pull open the bars, Shiro dropped into a fighting stance. Suddenly a green bubble like aura surrounded him as Shiro cast Protect on himself, knowing that he was going to be up and close with this thing and would probably end up takign a few hits. The beast came barreling out and Shiro rushed forward to meet it, takign the creature's charge head on, feeling a sting that he knew would have been much worse without the protect as he got a good grip on the Grendel and tried to push it back. The beast was strong, and Shiro's feet dug deep lines in the dirt as he pushed back with all his strength, finally able to slow the brute down a bit and eventually stopped. "Heh heh, easy there big boy. We're gonna have some fun right?" Shiro spoke with a wide grin, which the Grendel clearly didn't appreciate. It opened it's mouth, static starting to gather in it's jaws as it prepared to fire a thunder charged breath at Shiro, who only smiled and grabbed on tighter. As the beast released it's terrible breath Shiro leaped upwards, pulling on the dragon as he flipped over it and turned around in the air, landing on it's back. "Yeeeehaaaa! Just like a rodeo!" he said lauching, grabbign onto the creature's scaly hide with one hand and pulled back the other as the Grendel thrashed about. His grip didn't budge though and with his hand that was up in the air he balled it up into a tight fist and slammed his knuckles into the back of the Grendels neck, causing the beast buckle for a second. Shiro was laughing, clearly enjoying himself, but the battle wouldn't be that easy and the Grendel retaliated, swinging it's tail up and catching Shiro's back with the tip. Shiro winced from the pain, even with the protect spell active the sharp blade like tail managed to make a long slash across his back, not terribly deep though it was bleeding. Shiro let go and fell forward from the force of the swipe, landing on his back and rolling out of the way just as the monster took a mighty swipe at him. "Ow! Ah ha ha ha, nice one! Alright Grendel, I'm gonna repay you for that cut!" This was damn fun.

Aki stands aside, her sword at the ready, but happy see Shiro enjoying his battle. She was glad that her students were learning so quick.
"Alright Shiro, finish 'em off!" she calls, smiling.

"As you wish Professor!" Shiro called excitedly. He was enjoying this fight a lot, but knew he should wrap things up this being a class and all. Shiro tightened the bandanna around his head and rushed in at the beast once more, giving it a right then a left, the second a rather hard hit that knocked the Grendel's head back. Angry as hell the Grendel came forward and swiped at Shiro again with it's front claws one after the other, and Shiro dodged the first but was knocked down by the second. Thankful for the Protect spell, he could feel it starting to wear off as he got up quickly and brushed himself off, just in time to catch another attack from the dragon. Rearing it's head back it breathed out another breath of thunder but Shiro charged right into it, jumping up hard off the ground and delivering a devastating flash kick to the monster's jaw forcing it shut, but the electrical force behind the breath ran through Shiro's body and stung him terribly, the protect didn't help against that. The creature stumbled back as Shiro got to his feet, a numbing sting all over his body from the thunder element attack but even now he continued to grin. Slamming his knuckles together as the beast steadied itself, Shiro launched himself forward and leapt high into the air, pulling his right fist back as the muscles in his arm tightened like a bow string being pulled taut. And as he came down Shiro let go of the bow string and his arm shot forward, a skull crushing punch coming down on the Grenda's crown, forcing it's head to bounce off the ground hard, the impression of his metal knuckles neatly in place as Shiro landed a few feet away. Sittign down with his back turned to the creature, he smirked as he could hear it make a muffled weak roar as it fell over no longer moving. "Hoooo, that was a tough old lizard wasn't it? Heh heh heh." The gash on his back and claw marks on the side of his arm started to sting and the bits of electricity still running through his body started to hurt more as the adrenalin wore off, but he was fine.

Aki walks over to Shiro grinning. She casts a guraga spell on him, then pats him on the back.
"Very good Shiro! I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who enjoys a good, tough battle. Now, has everyone gone?" Aki asks, surveying her class.

Shiro shivered a bit, the curaga spell was very soothing and he could feel his pain easing up quickly, but it also tickled a bit and he wasn't ready for it. Reaching behind his back he could feel the slash closing up and nodded. "Oh yeah, I live for battle. It's the most joy I I ever get! The tougher the better, otherwise it's no fun right?" He said laughing as he stood up and brushed himself off, feeling much better. Looking aroudn as well he shrugged. "I think everyone has...I dunno." ((guess not?))

Shiro could only grin, raising his hand eagerly. "You read my mind teach, I'll go again for sure!" He had only just finished with his battle but of course he would take on another challenge. If it were up to him Shiro wouldn't stop fighting until he passed out from exhaustion. "I'll take whatever door you wanna give me headmistress! Ah ha ha ha ha!" He was hopeless really, he was probably gonna end up killing himself like this some day but that was just fine with him.

"Alright then," Aki says with a smile. She heads over to a gate and pulls it up, revealing this:  "This is something we have here in out Training Center. It's certainly good to know about it though because we have had many students show up in the Infirmary because of these guys. Can you tell me about them Shiro?" Aki asks.

Shiro hopped about in place, goign from one toe to the other as he tried to loosen up again for this next monster. But when the gate opened Shiro had to stop cold as he looked at the massive beast inside. "....T-Rexaur...." But it wasn't fear the gripped him, it was sheer excitement. He knew all about this one, he'd thumbed through the monsters in the garden training center and had practically memorized the pages on this one because he thought it was so damn cool. A strong opponent indeed. "T-Rexaur, weak against ice element attacks and resistant to poison. You can draw all three fire and thunder spells from stronger ones and even quake. This thing is a beast when it comes to health and attack, so you shouldn't even attempt takign one down unless you're absolutely sure you can take it down." He said with a big grin on his face.

"Very good! Another important thing to remember, it is susceptible to both sleep and darkness spells. So a good way to make the battle easier, or run away if you need to, is to cast sleep and attack with magic, or to cast darkness and wail away on him while he's blinded. Let's see what you've got Shiro!" Aki says, pulling the bars open.

"Heh heh...but I don't know any of those spells?" He said sheepishly, casting one of the only spells he knew again. Protect was something he was definitely going to need here, especially agaisnt a monster like this. If he remembered correctly, this thing should be able to take way more hits than the Grendel. In all honesty, Shiro wasn't sure he could win this one. But he was going to try none the less. His Protect spell came up just in time as the T-Rexaur came barging out, letting out a mighty roar as it tried to chomp Shiro in one bite. Thankfully he managed to dodge it but his arm got skinned by the dino's teeth which would have hurt a lot more had it been not for his spell. Shiro immediately retaliated with a strike from his knuckles, first a right then a left on the Rex's jaw but the damn thing seemed barely phased. "....um...right!" Shiro didn't stop, rushing forward again and jumping up to kick the monsters head, but the T-Rexaur had other plans. Having already begun spinning around Shiro's kick hit only air, and as he hung there in the air he was hit by a mighty powerful tail, knocking him to the floor and taking the wind right out of him. Shiro coughed trying to stabilize himself, but the T-Rexaur wasn't going to give him a chance. It was already coming in for another bite, and it looked like Shiro was done fore, but there was the sound of flesh being pierced yet no teeth coming together. Looking carefully at the T-Rexaur's mouth you could see Shiro on his knees just barely in his jaws, barely holding the monster's mouth open with one hand on the top and bottom jaws, the creatures teeth had pierced through his palms and he was bleeding, but Shiro had a stubborn grin on his face. His arms were shaking and it looked like the T-Rexaur was slowly pushing Shiro's arms back, but he just smiled. "Teach, don't interfere unless you think you've got no other choice, and think it over even then. This....is great. Let's go beasty!" Shiro was gatherign strength, finding his best levels of concentration on the battle field. He started to give off an odd aura as he cast one of his other spells, Bravery, and as the aura overtook him his muscles appeared to bulge out more. Slowly Shiro started getting to his feet, pushing the dino's head back ever so slightly until he was standing up. Shiro gave a loud shout as he gave one last push, pushing the T-Rexaur's head back just enough so that he could roll out of the way before the beasts forced it's head back down and clamped it's jaws shut with nothing in between them. The T-Rexaur roared and charged at Shiro again, but Shiro rolled in under it and kicked off the groudn hard, striking the beast hard in the stomach with an uppercut, then flipping backwards with the momentum and bringing his leg up for second strike. Both were much harder with more power behind them than before, and the monster felt them well, but if anything it was just pissed off as it stopped around roaring again when it saw Shiro running out from underneath it.

Aki watches the battle, her sword at the ready. She heeds Shiro's request- for now. But she stands on the edge of her toes ready to pounce the T-rexaur if she feels the battle gets out of hand.

"Alright you overgrown gecko, there's a reason dino's aren't so common these days....though I'm sure there's a reason that you're still around. But that's not the point! Point is, you're going down!" That must have sounded so smooth, but Shiro was more concerned with takign down this monster. And he was sure this was one of the weaker ones, which kind of irked him. No way he could lose if that was the case! With the Bravery boost he was much stronger now, not on par with a beast like the T-Rexaur but he was still confident and rushed forward for another attack. The T-Rexaur spun on the spot again to smash Shiro with it's tail, but the wide horizontal sweeping motion was easy enough to dodge this time as Shiro had seen it once before already. Jumping up with the massive tail nearly grazing his feet, Shiro landed higher up on the Rexaur's tail and ran up the brute's body. It wasn't an easy mount, and the thrashing of the beast was even more violent than that of the Grendal, nearly making him fall off. But Shiro managed to hold on long enough for another big jump, aiming not for the creatures very hard head but instead coming down with a spiraling kick like a drill at the base of the T-Rexaurs thick neck. The monster buckled from the sudden impact, but only a bit as Shiro rolled down it's head back onto the floor. This was one stubborn dinosaur, even now as Shiro landed it attacked with it's massive tails, nearly getting a good hit this time on Shiro's side but the Protect spell helped keep if from being to severe. Shiro was knocked to the side once more from the swipe, but this time as he was knocked over he rolled with it and was able to recover quickly. Smirking he came back at the beast with another strike a flurry of punches on it's leg before jumping back. He was panting now, breathing hard from the fight but he loved it so and the T-Rexaur almost looked like it was going to loose it's balance. "Ha! See that, you're not so bad are ya! Ah ha ha ha!" But this was a short lived celebration. T-Rexaur was hurt but not quite through. Lunging forward with it's jaws Shiro barely managed to catch them like before, a new set of holes in his wrists as the dino's teeth pierced his flesh and bone making Shiro wince from the pain. But that was only the beginning, the protect spell was fading and Shiro could feel the force of the bite increasing, and as if the T-Rexaur could sense it's preys vulnerability it started to shake it's head back and forth trying to rip him apart. Shiro held it's jaws as long as he could while being shaken wildly, but one of his arms finally gave in and let go, the jaws of the creature closing on his body making large holes on his chest and back, flinging him sideways as the attack ended. Shiro hit the floor a few meters in front of the beast, bleeding pretty badly at this point, his health was critical now as he lay there. But with one good arm and one semi good arm he still struggled to get to his feet. He coughed harshly as he forced himself up. "....m...maybe a little..teach...but don't finish it off...I'm not done yet..." He could hear the T-Rexaur roaring as it got ready to finish him off, but Shiro was giving off another aura as his bandanna started to wave on it's own. he just needed a little more time to get back to his feet.

Aki, impressed by his dedication, casts a curaga spell on Shiro the second she sees him hit the ground. She then casts Blizaga on the T-rexaur, followed by a sleep spell. The T-rexaur roars as the ice weakens it, but promptly falls asleep with a small growl.
"That should help," Aki says, checking him over from afar to make sure her cure spell worked well enough.
