Kai sat in silence for several moments as his comrades were yelling over the sound of the waves and the thunder overhead, simply staring at the place where the Sanbi had been just moments before. Vincent-Talzane  Another bag was dropped down onto the wall, reaching overhead the muscles constricted in protest from the amount of work that was going into this simple task. For the untrained students who had not started to train their bodies and minds for more then the average person, this was a daunting task.
Varro continued to wade through the pain, as his body ached and cried for release from the strain of moving through the thickening mud, that seemed to engross his entire foot up at times to his ankle. When he lifted his leg, it was like trying to pull a small child who hugged onto them, refusing to remove itself. When he lifted each and every fifty or more pound bag at this point, his arms would lose feeling and even the idea of lifting it off the ground seemed like an exhausted effort. When Varro leaned over to take another sandbag in his hands he heard the sudden calm of the water. The waves stopped coming at them, and he turned to look to see what was causing this sudden eye in the storm. He was sensitive to the sheer amount of chakra that was used just in that moment, and he stood straight to watch. Maybe it was over... his entire being hoped for this to be finalized.Rei looked as the waters turned glassy, and surveyed the area. So many students looked weary... Stepping through the sandy mud had been such hard work for everyone. The crushing weight of the battle's chakra took it's hold on everybody. Mizukage Luo and Sensei Lt were so strong... She straightened herself. She and her partner would both be that strong someday. The Academy was their first step. Thinking of which, her one-day comrades were in pain. She walked over to the student closest to her, he looked older than everyone else. Her age... and she bowed. "My name is Rei-nin of the Inuzuka Clan. I know we have never met, but my mother is a medical ninja, she sent me here with a drink that warms the body after being thrown into cold waters along with my canoe. It's also a wonder for sore muscles... It helps the spirit and the body both. If you would like, after toiling so, please take a sip and pass it to the others. It may help. I'm sorry for interrupting your thoughts..." Rei was being very meek to him, she normally was her first meeting, and the solemn occasion didn't help. If he thought she was weak, she supposed she would have the chance to prove otherwise later. But as for right now, she would just help as much as she could. Rei proffered him the flask as she looked up to the storm ripped sky, the building tension of the elements was unbearable. She waited, expecting the tension to crack at any moment.. Then we would know how 'over' this was going to be. "Combine our jutsus? How? All we would be able to do is the mizu shuriken, and my shiro fuuma mizu shuriken, but how will that help us? Unless your new jutsu was a turtle soup making jutsu, I dont see how were gonna harm that thing." Yamatano said to Kaizen. He might have been harsh, and might have sounded a bit like Kanzuki when he was scared of the gobi attack, but this was different. They were in the middle of a lake, which was most certainly not their element and in every way the sanbi's. Their best hope would be to get to dry land and use exploding tags, not sit in the middle of the lake like sitting ducks trying to combine a jutsu. "I'm sorry Kai, but even though were stronger, this is just like the Gobi attack. We are not strong enough to directly engage the beast."

LT turned his head to look over his shoulder to look at the young future of the mist on the shore who was stacking sandbags. "All of you! Get out of here! Go back to the academy, my water clone will be waiting for you!"

Mizutenma heard what his master had said. He looked around. People where starting to go back to the academy. He put the bag that was still in his hands onto the wall and started running back to the academy. He was in major pain from lifting so many bags.

Ezra let the flask slip from her hand into his hand and hoped he kept it. She looked toward the sky as Sensei LT's voice rang out. Go back to the academy... She bowed her head. The sooner she could start training the better. She hated to leave, but the ninjas here could take care of themselves very well. She would run by home before she went back to t he academy. She was bringing Shige whether or not he was allowed there or not. She meant to ask, but because of the Sanbi she never got the chance. To the academy then-

Varro turned to the girl who approached him and introduced herself. He stood straight trying with very faint success to ignore the pain that crept through his muscles. The offer of something that would ease that pain gave him a great sense of relief, yet without knowing what was to happen next in this fight that took place at the beach, it wasn't a complete relief.
He gave Rei a kind smile, a bit warmed in her presence. She seemed like a very sweet girl, though when he attempted to introduce himself in return Lt made his announcement. The students were to return for training, and while there wasn't much him or the others could do. He still felt compelled to help, that feeling was far from logical, and he understood that.
The girl dropped the bottle into his hand, and his fingers grasped around it instinctively. Even though his attention was back on the still water, wanting to see what was to come next. He had orders to follow, and his attention had shifted back to Rei, watching her run off back to the academy.
"Hmmm... can't hurt to try it," He said quietly to himself, taking a small drink from the flask before taking off after the rest of them. The entire student body was tired, but he hoped a little relief and a positive mind-set could settle his muscles enough to get through the day ahead.Exit to Academy

The Ice Prince 
[1/3] Riku arrived at the lake to find it swimming with garbage and trash. He sighed and made a handseal to summon three water clones out of the lake water. Through their combined effort the lake would be cleaned in no time.
[2/3] After summoning some help Riku made another seal to freeze the lake. Then by using his Zero Grip ability, Riku was able to walk around and pick up the trash frozen on the surface. This helped cut down a lot of time with the cleaning, though one fat kid stuck between the ice would've disagreed on its use.
[3/3] After sending the fat kid on his way Riku finished up by working together with his clones to move the water into waves. After melting the ice, these waves brought in the last of the trash in the water, making this mission complete for Riku. He spent some last finishing touches on cleaning the shores, and then he dumped all of the trash in a nearby garbage bin before continuing on to his next mission.

Kai arrived at the shore of Kiri lake, his team following close behind. Staring out towards the middle of the lake Kaizen's eyes had a glassy look as he remembered the events that had transpired not more than a month two before Chuunin exams started. To think it was here that just a few short months ago, Kanzuki had the Sanbi sealed inside him. Shaking his head to clear it of the thoughts, Kai smiled at his companions and then said calmly, "well, time for a swim I guess."With that Kai took off his shirt, shoes and socks and placed them on the shore along with his blades and bags. Walking out into the water until he could no longer stand, Kai swam out a few more paces before bringing his hands together under water and forming several hand-seals, his eyes turning a deep sapphire blue. "Mizu Bunshin no jutsu!", Kai said loudly, a clone forming from the water of the lake coming to stand right next to him. He would need the clone there if he had any hopes of getting back to the surface before running out of air.
Readying himself, Kai took a steadying breath before making several more hand-seals beneath the surface of the water, he would need to be quick about this one, he couldn't afford to waste time."Isonagi no Jutsu!", Kai cried out before taking a deep breath. Lifting a hand out of the water, Kai had just enough time to give his teammates a thumbs up before he was suddenly pulled forcefully below the surface of the water at incredible speeds. He had used the beach crab technique on himself, hoping that if he could get near the bottom more quickly he would have enough air by the time he got there to have time to search before needing to replace himself with the clone.
Finally nearing the bottom, Kai dissipated the jutsu, and began swimming around, his sapphire blue eyes searching for anything that seemed out of place, anything that could be the item he was looking for. He estimated he had maybe two and a half more minutes before he would be forced to surface once more. He had to be quick."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points: 37/39] (possible artifact recovery initiated)

You can't really see much at the lake's bottom. The lake itself is very deep and the deeper you go, the darker it becomes, making the bottom of the lake almost impossible to see. You can tell you hit the bottom by feeling around, but at this point, you'd be searching in the dark for something you didn't know existed.
After a bit of this unfruitful searching, you realize that you would need to have a lot more time down at the bottom of the lake and a light source of some type to even have a chance of finding what you were looking for, if in fact, it was even there.

Genin | Katon | Konoha Seeing kai leap into the water, Taiji decided it best to follow suit. Making several hand seals, he also made a mizu bunshin. He and the clone took deep breaths, and dove in after him. They swam to the bottom to meet kai, following close behind in case they were to find something that kai did not. scanning the floor for a bit, tai began to run out of air. grabbing the clone, and pressing his lips to that of the bunshin, he took the air that it had held in, and gave it a thumbs up. The bunshin immediately used the same Mizu bunshin technique, creating a new clone that would swim to the surface and refill on air while he continued the search with Kai. The first Mizu clone dissipated into water as the second made it to the top for air. Chakra Reserve: 30, or 28 (not sure if the Mizu bunshins one jutsu deducts from my chakra pool.)

Kai shook his head under water as he could feel the last of his air supply slipping away, this is pointless... even if I could see I'd need all day to search the bottom of this lake... forget it. Performing several hand-seals, Kai called out, "Kawarimi no Jutsu!" Of course it came out as more of a gurgle and bubbles, but it got the job done.
In a poof, Kaizen was transported up to the surface where his clone had been moments before, and the clone had of course been transported to the bottom of the lake. Kai almost felt bad, but then he remembered the clone was just made of water any way. Taking several huge gulps of air, Kai then began swimming back to shore. As he made it to his companions, his breathing still labored, Kai simply shook his head.
After a few minutes of catching his breath, Kai began to put his clothes back on as he said to his companions, "it's no use. Even if something is down there, it's too dark to find it. We should move on. Maybe go to the oasis Shayera was talking about? Then we can just use the scroll to transport ourselves to that tree Shinji told us about and we'll be done." Having finished dressing, Kai looked to his companions with smile as he waited to hear what they had to say."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points: 37/39] (I just realized that I pretty much placed myself in the leadership position, you guys are alright with that right?) (edit: Taiji, it's no use, we don't have a prerequisite artifact for this one)
