McKaela tilts her head. Why on earth did Kata want to carry her? This was none of her concern, though, he could do whatever he damn well pleased. "Alright," she mumbles, letting her take her. On the way out the door, she waves lightly to Alma, before proceeding along the cold winter sidewalks with Kata at her side and Gwen on his shoulder. It had started snowing again.
"Cute? Me?" She seemed honestly surprised. "Cute is Ashley's job, not mine." She smirks and shakes her head... if Ashley did have a tangible job in the Legion, not just to tell McKaela how dangerous a certain situation might be (just to end up right, usually), it would be to stand around and look cute to boost morale. Smiling ever wider, McKaela can't help but snicker. Ashley would totally do it, too.
Paws shoved into her pockets, McKaela slowly walks, mind wandering. Who knew what she actually thought when she wasn't doing or saying something stupid. Maybe she didn't think at all. Or maybe she thought about quantum mechanics. Really, it was mostly plagued by her past, and otherwise her thoughts tended to be on the perverted side. She kept focused on thoughts of Ashley instead of Gwen... to the best of her ability.
A few minutes later, they come to a sidewalk that leads down to the barracks. McKaela turns to Kata, puffing out smokey air in a huff of warm breath against the cold, "That's the way down to the barracks. I can take 'er home from 'ere." She outstretches her paws, reaching to take Gwen and carry her the rest of the way. "I'll see ya t'morrow, I'm sure." He'd been coming by the mansion quite often to stay near Gwen... who knew why, because he liked her or just to protect her from McKaela. Whatever the case, she didn't mind. She didn't usually have many people around her.
Once Gwen is taken, McKaela waves lightly to Kata and heads on home. Another few minutes pass before they arrive at the mansion, and McKaela wanders up the stairs with the little kitten in her arms, laying her gently on the guest room bed and covering her up. She smiles lightly, shakes her head, and goes back down to the bar. For about another hour McKaela sits there, drinking and staring at the wall, lost in whatever went through that crazy head of hers. But she does eventually head upstairs and to bed.
***
When morning comes, around eight, McKaela's alarm rings. Unfortunately, nobody told it that today was Saturday, so after the first couple of rings it's thrown against the wall. McKaela grumbles, face-down in the pillow, trying to go back to sleep, figuring she broke the thing as she'd intended. The alarm stops ringing for about five minutes before going off again. McKaela's reaction is to jump, then reach for the alarm where it had been sitting five minutes before. The further she reaches, the further she scoots, until she finally falls off the bed.
"Nicely done," Ashley teases as she wanders in to find McKaela in a heap on the floor next to the victorious alarm clock. "May as well get up now, cuz you're gonna have to stand anyway to get back in bed." McKaela doesn't respond. "Kae?" She gets a bit closer. "Stoner-butt?"
McKaela responds by snoring.
Ashley growls, crossing her arms and shaking her head. "Lazy s**t." She kicks McKaela in the ankle lightly, and when that doesn't work, she rolls her over onto her back and crouches over her, one leg on either side of McKaela's body. This ought to be somewhat familiar. Taking a deep breath, the Lundehund girl leans down, and screams, "MCKAELA!"
McKaela practically jumps out of her skin, just to find that she's laying in the floor and Ashley is straddling her. After taking a moment to settle down, McKaela mumbles, "S'it my birthday?"
"Not 'til Thursday. Now get up!" Ashley stands up and wanders out, shaking her head.
Sitting up, McKaela grumbles, rubbing her head. Well s**t. She got a whole six hours of sleep. Picking herself up off the floor, she wanders in to take a shower, brush her fur, put on makeup, and all that other s**t. By the time she comes out of her room and wanders down to the bar, she's wearing a dark brown sleeveless minidress with corsetting on one side [x], a fluffy black skirt with corsetting [x], fishnet tights with bows and skulls on the top where her garter belt attaches [x], and furry dark brown snow boots [x]. She carries a dark brown hoodie with fur lining [x] and a black fedora with a chain around it with her [x], and sets it on the bar upon her arrival.
Come to find out, Cookie has the day off today. She groans and leans over the bar, grabbing a bottle of rum. 'Early' morning, time to start drinking.

Aside from their brief conversation on Alma's doorstep, the two didn't talk much, and Kata enjoyed the silence. He steadily moved as to keep McKaela on his right side. Gwen didn't as much as open her eyes as he carefully handed her off to the High Commander. "I'll see ya t'morrow, I'm sure." She said to him. "Aye, Milady." He responded softly, then started down the path to the barracks, his hands tucked into his pockets. The snow seemed to subside. It was now that the fox noticed that he didn't feel as cold as he had before. It was a soft, quiet evening. like the calm before the storm. "Beautiful night. Maybe it's an omen." He said out loud. Kata stopped long enough to watch the air from his breath rise into the night sky. It was indeed a beautiful night. Stars filled the void, and the pale light of the moon was reflected off the sparkling snow.
He didn't get the chance to be by himself often, and so he slowed his pace towards the barracks. His mind wandered, and occasionally his thoughts slipped past his lips only to disappear in a warm puff of smoke. A light sprinkle of snow began to come back as the barracks came into view, Kata stopped briefly, holding out his hand to catch one. The snowflake immediately melted against his touch. He closed his hand around the droplet, then entered the barracks.
The halls were dark and still as the fox quietly made his way to his room. Upon arriving, he raises his fist to knock, then hesitates. Being as late as it was, Zander was likely asleep. Kata softly places his ear against the door. *zzz* He smiles and digs in his pocket for the key, then silently slips it into the lock. The room was dark. The atmosphere reminded him of the night after he killed Gwen. He carefully closes the door behind him, and finds the way to his bed easily. It only takes the fox a few minutes before he loses consciousness.
(It's all your fault! Why do you have to be here? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SEE ME LIKE THIS!? I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!)
"Kata." The fox rolls over. "Kata." He opens his eyes, and they meet with Zander's. The tiger smiles. "Time to get up." Bright stripes of morning light shine in through the window, sliding across the floor and up the wall. Reluctantly, Kata pushes himself off the bed and stares off into space. "It's Saturday." He says lazily. Zander shakes his head. "No excuse, if you want to be a good assassin, you should get into the habit of getting up early. Even on Saturday." Kata yawns and gives him a bored look. Zander was already dressed and ready to go, the fox glances over at the wall clock. 7:33. Just how early was Zander up? The fox scoffs, then kicks himself off the bed and into a long, morning stretch. Zander nods in approval, then leaves the room.
Kata took his sweet time to bathe, brush, and put on a clean new pair of clothes. He loads a magazine into the glock and straps it around his waist. One of these days he'd use the money McKaela'd given him on their first encounter to buy a more... 'personalized' handgun, but until then he was fine with what he had, he never used it in actual combat but once anyway. "One more day." He mutters as he pushes his shades up his muzzle.
It must have snowed heavily after he fell asleep last night. Early risers were already hard at work shoveling snow and salting the walkways, as well as various other outdoor tasks. Kata's usual morning routine consisted of checking on Gwen, who was either already up and helping around the fortress, or still in her room. Afterwards, he'd grab some breakfast. Whenever Gwen wasn't with him, he'd spend the time tinkering with his gun or target practicing somewhere. The fox often wondered when he'd ever actually get to do his designated job, but didn't dare press the matter.
He steps into the mansion and sees a fashionably dressed McKaela at the bar.
"Mornin' Milady." He says as he passes her.

*BAM BAM BAM* Alma turns in his bed and peers at his clock, It's blank. Sighing he flips out his cell phone, it reads 9:14. He reluctantly rolls himself to the edge of the bed and gets up. His thumbs crackle as he pushes himself out.
*BAM BAM BAM* Flexing his back as far as it can go he counts how many times it pops. "Five? hmm, I got Six pops yesterday." *BAM BAM BAM* "Okay okay I'm coming" he whispers to himself as he makes his way out of his room and down the stairs. wearing only his cheese print Pajamas, a gift from his brother. "Probably some kiddo Aluna hired to tell me I'm late for work on my first day." He smirks "Ahh ta hell with em they can wait." Chuckling to himself he goes to the fridge and pours a glass of milk. *BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM*
Oh, they added a few more hits. This guys getting serious. He walks to the door and opens it with a smile "Yeeeeesss?." A Mouse draped in a heavy fur coat wearing an eye-patch stares at him. "Baby si-?" He gets cut short as she delivers a powerful blow to his jaw. The mug in his hand clatters to the floor as well as himself.
The girl smirks with a look of sadistic pleasure "I have been pondering to myself which language i should address you in." She folds her hands behind her back and walks in the door, kicking it most of the way shut. "English? Français? Deutsch?"Carelessly she sits down on his chest pinning him to the floor. "Well I already wasted French on Owen So English will have to do."
His vision blurs as she delivers another swift punch to his face. Alma yelps "What do you mean? Where have y-?" She hits him again. "SHUT UP! Your sister goes missing for three years and you don't even go looking for her!?" "But Owen and I did go looking for you." Again she punches him in the face. "Well you didn't look hard enough!" "I only had two weeks before i had to be back to work. I assumed you were covering your tracks." "BACK TO WORK!?" She delivers a punch to his throat this time. "Do you have any idea what I've been through!?" She practically screams this at him.
Alma doesn't respond. He can't, gagging and wheezing he trys to put out a coherent sentence "I- *cough* I-." He stops speaking and looks her over. She had an eye-patch. Several scars seemingly flowed their way up her neck and onto her jaw. Her ears looked as if they had been Punctured or burned through with something. Even her hands were horribly scarred. he had a feeling that there was much more as well, but the heavy fur coat thwarted his observations.
"I'm Sorry" he finally manages. Carefully he wraps his arms around her neck and pulls her down for a hug.
A tear wells up in her eye. and she becomes placid for a time. "NO!" she yells suddenly. "I'M MAD AT YOU" She pulls her fist back getting ready to deliver another blow.

McKaela glances up from her bottle of rum as the bar door comes open and Kata wanders in, closing it quickly to lock out the cold. She shivers in response from the burst of frigid air. "Mornin'," McKaela half-yawns, half-sighs as she takes another drink. Morning. What a horrible time of day.
After a few moments of silence, McKaela turns to Kata. "Sleep alright?" Small talk... that's what mornings are for, right? Her tail flicks lazily before the tip of it drags the floor and goes still, looking like some dead thing. "Cookie's off, y'can help yerself t'food if ya wanna," she mumbles, motioning to the kitchen. Food didn't sound awful, but then again... something felt... strange. She shrugged it off as a feeling of impending doom that never actually meant anything, but she didn't get any food, either.
Shaking her head, McKaela glances up to the balcony. She hadn't seen Gwen yet this morning. In fact, where did Ashley run off to this morning? One second she was there, the next she wasn't. "Hm," McKaela says aloud, standing up and grabbing her fedora, but leaving her sweater behind as she wanders upstairs for a few minutes without a word.
Before too long, McKaela comes back, shaking her head. Ashley must have gone somewhere. Oh well. She sits back down, finishing off her bottle of rum and reaching for another. Uneventful morning...

Did he sleep well? The fox considers this while scratching the side of his chin, then settles with a "Yeah." By the looks of it, Mckaela couldn't say the same, he was tempted to ask her what was wrong, then shook his head. After a moment of silence, he continues onto the next topic of conversation, "That's right... Today was his off, wasn't it?"
As McKaela takes off for whatever reason, he steps into the kitchen. It was just as he remembered it the first day he was here. All sorts of cooking utensils lined the walls, counters crafted on drawers stacked on a hard linoleum floor, a few industrial sized ovens, and a nice, large fridge. A steel door near the back led into the freezer. The only things missing were Cookie and a grumpy equine to stare the fox down.
Kata dug around until he found Cookie's potato chip stash. He was no cook, and even then he wasn't that hungry, chips would do. He grabs two small bags, sticking one into his pocket and tearing the other open.
The fox inhales a toothy yawn, then finishes it off by stuffing a handful of chips into his maw. As he exits, McKaela was already back at the bar with another drink in her hand. He pauses, looking her over. Even now, it was hard for him to imagine her as the second in command of the world. To him, she was just his boss, which made Veritas the boss of his boss, which made-
His thoughts are cut off as he realizes that he's staring at her. Quickly averting his gaze, he eats another handful of chips and starts up the stairs towards the guest room. It seemed almost eerie to him, despite being a beautiful morning. He remembered what he thought last night about it being an omen, and silently hoped he hadn't jinxed himself.
He knocks on the guest room door. No response. He knocks again. The fox was about to give up when the door swung open.
Gwen was wrapped in a blanket, her hair was a mess and her eyes were barely open, she gave him an annoyed look. "Mornin'." he says, grinning. "It's... the weekend." she yawns, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "No excuse!" the fox says mockingly. "If you want to be a good kitten, you should get into the habit of getting up early. Even on weekends." His joke only received a confused look. "Well fine, I'll go see Alma by myself, you go ahead and go back to bed." Gwen tilts her head. "Okay, okay... gimme a sec." she says, closing the door. Kata finishes the last of his chips, then stuffs the empty bag in his pocket, taking out the other one. The two usually took walks with each other in the morning. It was only after he said that that he realizes that Alma may very well not be home. He didn't want to disappoint Gwen, but it was too late now, he could only hope for the best.
A few minutes later, Gwen comes out wearing her usual. Kata wonders if he should take her into town and buy her some nicer clothes than his hand-me-downs. She didn't seem to mind them, but the gesture would be nice.
"Y'ready to go?" he says, tossing the bag of chips to her. Gwen catches them, then looks up at Kata. "I guess... what if he's not home?" "Then it'll just be our usual walk, and we'll go to see him later when he's off work." The kitten smiles, and the two of them walk back down to the bar. They pass McKaela on their way back out the door. Kata waves and Gwen offers her a good morning before they take off into the chill.
The sun was out, and gleamed proudly off the snow. Maybe it wasn't going to be such a bad day after all. "For me, at least." he says quietly. Gwen tilted her head at him. "Huh?" Kata blinks, then shakes his head. "Nothing."
The only event that took place on their way to Alma's house was a quick snowball fight, resulting from a giggle and a ball of cold smacking the fox in the back of a head.
As they finally approached the house, Kata notices that the door was hanging open slightly. Maybe Alma left and forgot to close it all the way. He thought about all that cold air that must be seeping in. Gwen stops just before the steps to pick at something in the snow as the fox opens the door.
"Hey Alma, ya home? You left your d-" He stops, jaw dropping at the sight. Milk splattered all over the floor, and Alma laying in the middle with his arms wrapped around another mouse. She looked like she was about ready to sock him one. The three stare at each other in a very awkward moment of silence. Carefully, Kata closes the door. Now Gwen was at his side, curiously looking up at him. He gave a dumbfounded look back.
The fox brings his fist to the door, and knocks.

They both turn their heads and glare at the intruder to their "Heart to heart" talk. After he slowly backs out and closes the door their gazes wander back to each other. "Who was that?" She smirks. "Your boooyfriend?" The words came out as if she were a ten year old teasing her friend over a matter that likely involved cooties. "And a fox no less. Oh Alma, Father would be furious." After delivering one final hit she gets up off her brother and starts to pace back and fourth on the now milk covered floors, her hands folded behind her. "But I guess that explains why you could never get a date to the dance."
"My boyfrie-? What kinda-? Jus-? How did-? What are you twelve? Besides he already has a kid." Alma waves his hand dismissively and pulls open the door. He gives the two a brilliant smile. "Why hello there, Please come in." As they make their way in He retrieves a towel and drops it onto the milk spill. Afterwards he makes his way up to his room to change, Giving no explanation as to whom the woman is.
The woman leers at both of them without saying a word, her hands thrust into the pockets of her heavy coat. She wondered if she frightened the child. After a few moments she stuck her badly scarred hand outward to the fox. Pulling her sleeve back and revealing more scars twineing up her arm. "Nico" she states simply but kindly. Wondering whether she should engage the Kitten as well, she eventually decides against the action.
After about a minute Alma comes down the stairs wearing khaki pants and a black dress shirt, As well as his lab coat. "Well i would love to stay and chat but i really must be going, I'm late as it is."
"Oh no you don't, Your not getting away from me." Nico grins.
"I have little choice in the matter." Alma remarks. "You can stay here with me as long as you like, But wouldn't you like to have a nice home to stay in?"
Her ears droop and her head drops, It seems that the question hit her unexpectedly hard. "Yes" The word is barely audible. " But you can't leave me here alone." She seemed to be getting a bit panicky. "Can't you take me to work with you?"
Alma entertained the idea for a few seconds. Imagining her tinkering with a microscope. Only to loose her temper because she can't focus it right, then using it to bash the most valuable piece of equipment in the lab to bits. "Boss wouldn't be too pleased." His attention turns to Katakeome Smiling magnificently. "Heyy Kata, Can you do me a small favor? Watch over her for just a bit? I promise i will return the deed someday." He flings his arm over the fox's shoulder. "Just try not to piss her off and for the love of god don't let her near anything expensive"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Nico pops her knuckles and takes a step towards him.
"Sorry gotta go." Quickly Alma slips out the door and slams it shut. Leaving the room oddly quiet.

McKaela nods lightly to Kata, ears back. She'd slept okay, at best, but she didn't exactly wake up in the best of ways. She lost her undefeated title to an alarm clock and her girlfriend, after all.
Another nod, this time accompanied with a sigh. "Aye, which sucks." Over the years, she'd grown maybe a bit too used to having servants around, therefore forcing her to do certain things herself when they weren't there.
The vixen only returns for a moment before the reynard emerges from the kitchen... unharmed. Nile must be off doing something too. She glances up at him, and stares at him while he stares back, tilting her head. Soon enough he seems to realize this, and goes on about his business, which leaves McKaela nothing to stare at. She turns in her seat to look up at the balcony as the fox disappears into the hallway. Where was everyone this morning?
McKaela listens silently to the conversation upstairs, ears twitching. Going to visit Alma... surely he'd have gone to the lab by now? Of course, Aluna was strange for having requested him to come in on a Saturday for his first day of work. Come to think of it, she didn't remember seeing a clock at his place. But that was also none of her concern.
A smile is given to Gwen, and a wave to Kata as they leave. All alone. Again. McKaela sighs, sipping on her liquor quietly. Apparently, this morning was going to be rather boring. She takes her time to drink her liquor, perhaps going through yet another bottle after that before she sighs and stands; maybe she'd go sit around the stadium for a while. She stuffs one arm into her sweater, then the next, then wanders out the door.
However, on the way to the stadium, McKaela notices Alma walking up the hill toward the mansion. She pauses for a moment to watch him before changing direction and wandering toward him. "Hey, th'fox an' th'cat were on th'way t'see ya, did ya catch 'em?" Quietly she wonders why he wasn't already at work. Only then does she notice that his jaw is slightly swolen from the attack by his sister. "Mmm, are ya alright there?" She motions to his face, tilting her head. Maybe he fell down the stairs or something... he did seem to be just that unlucky, given how they met.

Kata and Gwen both gave Alma a strange look as he opens the door. "Oh, Alma! You're home, how nice." the fox says in mock sarcasm.
He hops over the spilt milk, whereas Gwen carefully tiptoes around it. Alma throws a towel over the spill then heads upstairs. Now that they were alone with Alma's mystery girlfriend, all they could do was stare at each other. Her face and ears were terribly scarred, the first thing that came to mind was that this was some kind of mercenary acquaintance of Alma's, the eyepatch only adding to this illusion. Maybe beating the hell out of people was her way of saying hello.
On the contrary, she held out her hand to the fox, speaking in a kind tone. "Nico." Her hands were scarred too, winding up her arms as far as they could see. Kata takes her hand and gives a few firm shakes. "Kata." he responds in a similar tone. He gave Gwen a moment to introduce herself, which she used to hide behind his leg. "And this is my sister, Gwen." It was the first time he had introduced her as his sister, and Gwen blushed behind her makeshift cover.
As Alma comes back down the stairs, the fox takes a step back, Gwen following in suit. The two continue their conversation as if they were age old friends passing comments about the weather, she even seemed distraught when Alma wouldn't let her follow him to work.
Before he knew it, Alma had his arm around the fox's shoulder and was already setting the two up on a date. What was he? A babysitter? He had enough to look after with Gwen, but she was a very special exception.
"Piss, off..? Hey! Get back-"
Alma was already out the door, leaving the fox with his hand half raised in objection towards now empty space.
He frowns, and turns towards Nico. Another moment of eerie silence, he was getting tired of that happening today.
Suddenly, his hand balls up into a fist. "Gwen... that hurts." he mutters through clenched teeth. "Ack, s-sorry." she replies, retracting her claws from his side.
Kata sighs and folds his arms over his chest. "So... Nico. Alma's sister, yeah?" He'd never seen the mouse before, but remembered Alma saying that his sister's name was Nico.

Alma Frowns for the first time in what seems to be years as he walks down the street. True he was happy to see his sister after three years, But he felt bad forcing Kata into that situation. And not to mention the condition Nico was in. Risking a situation with his new boss Aluna was absolutely unacceptable though. He had almost nothing to his name at the moment and he wanted to be sure that didn't continue.
He trudges down the sidewalk with his head hung low. When he hears Mckaela approaching he trys his best to plaster on a smile and look cheery. "Yeah i had a run in with him, I'm a bit rushed though. Aluna dosen't seem one to respond well to tardiness..... Or anything for that matter." He draws out a fake chuckle for his bad joke. "There probably still back there if you wanna talk to em'" He gestures backwards with his thumb, Hoping to sidestep the question of his battered demeanor completely. "Unless you wanna follow me to the lab. Which is probably unadvised, Unless your a sadist....that is." He presses forward twords the bar making his way to the lab.
----------------------------------
Nico clenches her fists and growls. "God dammit. THAT b*****d!" She looks for something inanimate to punch but finds that she is in the middle of a nearly empty room. "Yes.... His sister though i could hardly call him a brother with him dumping me on the first person that makes their way in here." Spreading her hands out she takes a deep breath. "I'm... Sorry." She lets these two little words go with reluctance, as if they were treasured family heirlooms. "You don't have to keep me around if you don't want to." These words flow out of her mouth very quickly, and she averts eye contact.
"But" She interjects looking for an excuse to not be left alone. "I uhh...I don't know my way around. It would be nice of you if i could just tag along wherever your going....and, you know, you could just show me where things are." Her eyes stick to the floor and her hands fidget as she waits for an answer.

McKaela quirks a brow. Alma was acting strange from what she could tell. He totally ignored what she asked about his jaw, also. But he rushed past so quickly she hardly had time to react. "Er, ok, I'll... see ya around, then." She waves lightly, staring confused toward the bar door where Alma had gone in.
Shaking her head, though, she sighs. She had no reason to follow Alma... because she had no reason to deal with Aluna's s**t. Instead, she decides to go after Kata and Gwen. Nothing better to do. The whole fortress likely would be thankful that she didn't go to the stadium instead.
After a few minutes, she arrives at Alma's house. Only then does she realize... why the hell would Kata and Gwen have stayed there at his house without him there? She shakes her head, maybe she should just check anyway. She knocks lightly at the door, and Gwen answers. She smiles lightly to her before glancing up to see what appeared to her to be Kata facing off with some strange assassin lady.
Lightly she steps past Gwen, looking to be at the ready to jump in, approaching them slowly, stealthily. She sidles up to Kata and clears her throat. "What's uh... goin' on?" She looks the mouse over... she was vaguely familiar. Why did she look so damn familiar? For the life of her she couldn't remember.
A strange girl this was, scarred up as far as anybody could see of her. She looked... well, to McKaela, downright frightenning, or perhaps even evil. She glances to Kata for some hint as to who the girl was. Anything.
***
When Alma steps into the lab, he'd find Aluna typing away at a computer console near the front. "Yer late," she mumbles, but she doesn't seem to make much of it. After a moment, Aluna stands up and turns to Alma. "Come here," she commands before leading him to a small room with a bed and some usual medical equipment. It seemed to be one of the sick bays. "I need to get you set up for access to the lab when it's on lock down."
What could she possibly mean? She digs around in a cabinet nearby, grabbing two small black bead-like gems and a scalpel. What... did she plan to do with those? "Hold still." This... couldn't be good.

Nico's sudden outburst frightened Gwen, who responded by backing away as slowly and carefully as she could. Kata merely gave Nico a bored look until she was done. Once she apologizes, she makes such an abrupt change in attitude that the fox tilts his head at her. "I... well." He scoffs, shaking his head before offering her a kind smile, which she wouldn't likely see with her eyes glued to the floor. "Might as well, we were taking a walk around the fortress anyway."
He looks over at Gwen, and motions her back. "Relax Gwen, no need to be so jumpy. Just take it easy, a'ight?" Gwen nods, but before she could say anything, someone started to knock on the door. "Oh what now?" Kata asks impatiently. Gwen strides over to the door, opening it carefully at first, then with a bit more enthusiasm once she sees who it is. "Ah, uhm... Hello Mrs. McKaela." Kata perks a brow at McKaela. What was she doing here, did Alma send her? Without a word, McKaela slips past Gwen, sneaking up to the other two like she was on a mission to kill, carefully tracking Nico with her eyes.
The fox responds to McKaela's inquiry with a shrug. "Entertaining Alma's sister." he says matter-of-factly. He leaves it up to Nico to say anything else, should she intend to.

Alma follows Aluna into a Room, It looked like a typical medical room. He was reminded of his days in med school. Back when he aspired to be just a doctor. Taking a seat on the bed he watches Her pull out a scalpel and two black beads, They reminded him of the eyes on a cheap doll you could win in almost any carnival by knocking over the bottles.
He was pretty confident that Aluna knew what she was doing. but he may have been a little more reassured if she wasn't in the body of such a young girl. "You know, I swear 'Ive gotta be the oldest looking person in this whole fortress by at least ten years." The words slip from his mouth almost as if he expects her to care. Leaning back and supporting himself with his arms he waits for his "Treatment". "I can't help but wonder why you would want me to be able to access the area when it is in lock down. Or what you plan to do with those beads."
------------------------- Nico Brings her temper under control, and speaks with a gentle voice. "Yes, Nico." She decided that there was nothing more to be angry about for the time being. Besides she didn't want to frighten her new acquaintances, especially the kitten, But she feared that that was an inevitable result of her appearance.
"Umm... I hate to ask, but can you wait a few minutes while i bathe? I haven't in a while." She admits hesitantly while hanging her head. Afterward she makes her way to the bathroom and takes her coat off. She strips off the the dress shirt , pants, shoes, and of course the eye patch . all much too big for her save for the eyepatch. Then hops into the shower.
Direct water stung her right eye quite badly, The area around it still blistered from the hot poker they had used. so she kept her head down and made it as quick as she could.
She didn't have any clothes but Alma was only a couple inches taller than her and she wasn't all that busty, she was sure she could fit into his. five minutes passed and she stepped out. Wiping the fog from the mirror she glared at herself. Body absolutely covered in scars, Cuts, scratches, bruises, all spiraling up and down her body, but the burns were the worst. one in particular. They had branded her like a cattle. They Pressed a blazing metal poker against her skin just above the belly button, as if claiming her for their own.
It read Дочь, She had no idea what it meant. Quivering now she became furious at the look of herself. Screaming she drove her fist into the mirror, cutting her knuckle to ribbons. Another scar to add to her collection. Opening the door she stepped lightly down the hallway, it wasn't hard for her to find Alma's room. She left a drip trail of blood behind.
Digging through one of the boxes she found a small rag and wrapped it around her hand before looking for clothes. she found a familiar set at the bottom of a box. Pen stripe suit jacket and pants with a matching fedora and even some nice shoes. They looked like Blaire's clothes, even his leather gloves were here. after finding one of Alma's dress shirts and a red tie she began to get dressed. The clothes were a little loose fitting but she would manage.
After about 12 minutes Nico came down the stairs where she hoped everyone was still waiting for her, wearing her fathers clothes and her eyepatch.

Alma's sister? She looks her over again. Yes, those markings were somewhat familiar, but she was pretty sure the girl she saw in the photograph didn't have scars from head to toe. She shudders, but regains her composure with a bow of her head, relaxing for now. "So yer Nico," she mumbles, "Nice t'meet'cha." In the back of her mind, she wondered why this girl would show up now after being missing for so many years... maybe she wanted something from Alma. She motions lightly to the photograph, which had been placed on Alma's mantle after she unpacked it. "No wonder y'looked familiar."
McKaela simply nods when Nico asks if she can bathe. "Certainly." She quirks a brow... why should she care? It was Alma's house, and if this really was his sister, it was his problem, not hers. After she vanishes into the bathroom, McKaela seats herself on Alma's sofa and sighs. "He seemed like he was in a rush, I saw 'im on th'way to th'stadium." Likely, Kata would be thankful that McKaela was distracted from going there again... alone. "His jaw was swollen, somethin' happen?" She crosses her arms. While she hardly cared about family matters, she didn't need random violence in her fortress. Which brought up another thought, which is repeated aloud just above a whisper, "How'd she get in th'fortress anyhow?" She didn't expect an answer.
The conversation is interrupted by the sound of shattering glass. McKaela's ears perk, and she practically jumps to her feet, walking hurriedly to the bottom of the stairs and looking up. "Nico?" She didn't say it loud, maybe she wanted a reason to go up there. She creeps up the stairs somewhat slowly, and upon arrival at the bathroom door, she prepares to knock.
Just at that moment, Nico bursts out of the room, stark naked and dripping blood all across the clean new carpet as she stomps off to Alma's room. She hadn't even noticed McKaela, as she'd been a couple feet back from the door yet. Staring, McKaela watches the mouse pass her by, instinctively raising her paw to her nose. When Nico enters Alma's bedroom, McKaela glances around the corner into the bathroom, spotting the shattered mirror all over the sink and floor, and droplets of blood leading from the sink down to Alma's room.
Her only reaction is to back away, very slowly, and then turn and hop-run her way down the stairs, planting her a** on Alma's sofa and staring at the wall across from her, face bright red and paws still covering her nose. She didn't say a word. When Nico comes out of the room, looking dapper in her father's pinstripe suit, McKaela glances up for only a moment before her face gets a shade or so brighter and she gets back to the staring contest with the wall. What happened up there?
***
Aluna shakes her head lightly. "I dunno, there are a few soldiers 'round that don't have my amazing genetics." Full of herself too, it seemed. "Besides, there are some retired people who come 'round here an' enjoy their benefits. I knew some'f 'em... they were old t'begin with when the Legion started... they just needed somethin' to support."
The answer to Alma's question comes in the form of Aluna grabbing hold of his left wrist, holding it upward, slicing the scalpel (with no anesthetic) into it, and shoving the bead into place between veins and ligaments. With the speed she'd done it at, it was a miracle she hadn't hit a vein! That doesn't stop her from letting it bleed while she goes looking for a suture and thread which she'd neglected to prepare, perhaps on purpose. Maybe this was his punishment for being tardy. A few stitches and a piece of gauze later, and she holds out her paw for Alma to hand her his right wrist instead of just taking it. Did she honestly expect him to willingly go through that again?!
"Yer gonna be workin' with hazardous materials an' top secret information at some point while yer in here... so ya need certain access. I'm not sayin' you can get in all the time right now, these are just here for when I need to put you on the next level's access lists. You'll be scanned, and if yer not allowed you'll either be unable to pass, or electrocuted to death." That was... reassuring.

There was no objections from either Kata or Gwen about Nico wanting to bathe, she looked like she could use one, and it certainly wasn't their place to stop her. It wasn't like Gwen to be as scared of someone as she seemed to be of Nico, but as usual with the kitten, she got over it rather quickly. She pads over to the sofa, plopping herself down next to McKaela, and resting her head into her hands.
Meanwhile, the fox makes his way over to the family photograph McKaela had gestured to earlier. He picks it up carefully as if he were handling a priceless antique, tracing his finger over the image of a perfect family. The strong, dependable looking father, the soft and caring mother. A smile flashes on Kata's face as he examines the two brothers. And of course, baby sister Nico.
It would seem to Mckaela as though he weren't even listening to her as she talks about the stadium and asks about Alma's injuries. Finally, Kata makes a motion towards the general direction of the stairs. "Ask her." he says distantly. Pausing, he looks from the photograph to Mckaela. "She was the one wailing on 'em."
He sets the picture back down before walking back towards the other two, ear flicking as McKaela mutters something about getting into the fortress. "Good question." he answers, folding his arms over his chest. "But I'd be more worried about-"
Suddenly, a crash. (Just try not to piss her off and for the love of god don't let her near anything expensive.)
He couldn't remember Alma having anything too expensive, and even then, nothing that made a sound like shattering glass. Gwen jumped, and immediately focused all her attention on the noise, her eyes open wide. Meeting McKaela at the bottom of the stairs, the fox glances at her, then back up. Kata was about to investigate when McKaela beat him to it. As slow as she was, there was no reason that both of them (or all three of them, now that Gwen was at Kata's side again) rush up there at once.
After the shatter, there wasn't a single sound from upstairs. Kata was about to go up when McKaela came dashing down the stairs. "Wha-" McKaela zips past them, throwing herself down on the couch and wearing a blush so red it would put the Kool-Aid man to shame. The two only stand there, dumbfounded. Kata wonders what could possibly have made her cover her nose like she was. Ignoring McKaela, the fox makes another move up the stairs, stopping after a few steps as Nico appears at the top. "Nico?" He hops off the stairs to give her room to pass. "The hell happened up there, you alright?" he asks quietly as Nico arrives on the last step.

Alma clenches his teeth and inhales sharply when she stuffs the bead into his wrist, brutally but professionally. "Ow, ow, ow." He whispers. griping his wrist with the opposite hand a few inches under the wound, careful not to touch it. "That seems so excessive." When it came to blunt trauma Alma had a pretty decent pain tolerance, But when the blood started flowing it just felt so much worse.
Shutting his eyes tight trying to block out the thought, and breathing heavily. He lets his arm go limp when he feels Aluna's hand touch him. Offering it with no assistance or resistance. This was one of the reasons he got out of medicine and into robotics. A lot of the same concepts when it came to form and function, but none of the blood.
After she had finished he debated with himself about whether to make a comment on the electrocution or not. "Shocking" he blurts. He knew it was an incredibly stupid thing to say, but he said it anyways.
----------------
Nico nods to the fox a bit taken aback by his concern. "Yes, Im fine. Thank you."The fresh wound as well as the rag were hidden under the leather gloves. She meets eyes with McKaela who turns red and looks away. Did she really look that bad in a suit? Confidence waning her shoulders and ears droop just slightly.
"Well, Th...Thank you all for waiting for me. I uh....I don't have any clothes of my own, So i borrowed some from Alma." She spreads her arms away from her body as if to prove this point.
"Now, Your Kata?" she nods to him. "And the little one here is Gwen?" She bends her knees as if to get a better look, but stops herself and stands up straight once again, She didn't want to frighten the child more than absolutely needed. Taking a few steps over to the sofa and folds her arms, addressing Mckaela "I'm Sorry.... I'm not sure i ever caught your name." Wearing an inquisitive look she bends slightly forward over the sofa. "It seems you have me at a disadvantage."
