Scar rose a brow at Niccea's statement. 'Being able to remove the gift?' He looked at Thaya and nodded to himself. He'd wait for Thaya to finish, but he had a few questions to ask this white-haired woman.
Dirk entered Nero's office with the girl Two small pinpricks were bleeding from her neck. "She understands the agreement. She'll be back tomorrow around noon-ish." He said."She explained her gift to me... It's much more complex than I originally thought." He reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of coal. "So far I've only mastered changing somethings form, but given practice, I should be able to alter it into any chemical compound I want." He squeezed the coal and brought the molecules closer together working down at the molecular level.
He held out a semi-large chunk of diamond. "I think that this experiment will be successful." He reached into a bag he was carrying."Now, if you'll sign this here." He handed Nero a pen. "Then she's free to go."
Rip's nose twitched... The familiar smell was stronger, and it was mixed with that of Niccea's. "Great." He moaned."Guess I should go check it out."

Nero sighed and scrawled his name across the paperwork. "You better not screw this up. It will not be good for you." The diamond disappeared rather quickly into a drawer.

((Sorry guys. It's the holidays. And my roommate is coming home from
basic. He only gets a week, so I've been trying to plan that all out. We
have a lot of great friends, but really I would just like one day to myself...
Posts will be limited until after the New Year.))
"I would've loved to be there. Is this him?" She nodded towards
Trenton. She couldn't help but feel bitter for just a second. She and
Ethan should've had a life together...albeit a much shorter one.
"Anyway I'm not exactly keen on them knowing that my gift has gone
dormant. They'd probably want to study me and try to duplicate the
effect, and being a lab rat once is enough. I don't think I have to tell you
to keep it under your hat." She said that last with a wink and a smile.
Thaya glanced over at Scar. He was being very quiet. "Is everything ok?"

((Well. You guys are not the first to know, but you are not the last. My boyfriend just proposed to me. So yeah, I feel your pain Thaya.))
Niccea smirked. "I'm retired don't worry about it." She motioned Trenton forwrd. "I know you must have seen Trenton once or twice, he has always been a bit of a shadow."

"Trenton..." Thaya said, her attention turning back to her old friend
Niccea. "I've heard the name before I think." Her gaze flitted over to him
and she nodded a hello. "You're not gifted, right? But you're still
an 'other' if I remember correctly..."

Scar nodded. "I'm fine..." He said not able to tear his gaze from the red gauze that poked from beneath her sleeves. He fidgeted uncomfortably. "I'm just not used to being out in the open is all." He lied.

Trenton nodded slowly, "Technically, I'm sort of an incubus."
Niccea smirked. "From the north." She gave Scar a curious look. "I don't live to far. I'm in a place where the agents avoid."

Thaya tugged her sleeves down a little trying to cover the bandages better.
"Try not to worry about me." Her voice was reassuring while her words
were not. "This won't be the last time I'm hurt while trying to get my gift
back." She patted his shoulder, hoping he'd understand that this is
something she had to do.
She glanced back at Trenton. "An incubus, huh? Niccea's a lucky lady
then." It was a lewd joke for Thaya.

Niccea shrugged her shoulders. "We are just childhood friends." She continued to stare at Scar with unabashed curiosity. "And who is your tail?"

"I literally just met him. He was actually trying to help me find you
ironically enough." Thaya glanced over at him. She hadn't really told Nic
who he was or anything about him. She was hoping he'd do that for her.

"Scar..." He said as if that explained everything. "I'm from the resistance." He didn't know what to tell the woman, but for Thaya he would at least try. "I ran into the angel a little while ago."
Rip's nose wouldn't stop twitching as he neared the scent. As her figure came into sight he set off at a dead run. If he still had his tail, it would be wagging like crazy. "Thaya!" He shouted wrapping his arms around her from behind.
Scar tossed Rip off the woman by instinct. Rip gave the man a dark look as his shook the dirt from his seat. The Cameo's would probably be the only ones to notice that his shadow had now pooled as a single blob beneath his feet.

((Well when I write 'healing' posts they're about to get a whole lot more
accurate. My friend collapsed last night in front of our favorite hookah
bar. I was the only one who knew even a lick of CPR, but I don't know
enough to be able to do chest compressions. Luckily he didn't need them,
but yeah...))
At first Thaya's face registered fear. Scar's reaction to Rip made her think
that Rip was some stranger that was attacking them. She whirled around
and for a recently ungifted mortal she was pretty quick to have a blade
out and ready to go. Then her eyes swept over Rip and she dropped the
dagger without a second thought.
"Rip!" She threw her arms around him and hugged him fiercely. "You
found me too!" Thaya held him at arm's length to get a good look at him.
"Who else is left? Is it the entire crew?" She suddenly looked a little
ashamed. "Am I the only one who left?"
"Oh..." She turned and wrapped an arm around Scar's shoulder. "This is
Scar. He was protecting me I think...Please don't be mad at him. He's on
our side."

Rip's fist relaxed as Thaya explained. "Ash left for providence, and Dirk became an agent, so we're it now." He said giving her another quick hug. "So, what have you been up to?" He asked
Scar held a hand out to the man. "Sorry about that." He said rubbing the back of his hair nervously.
Rip nodded. "It's fine... I would have done the same."

Niccea nodded. "Imerius is still in Manhattan. Whym is gone, her life force ended. And Maria is MIA." She gave Rip a smile, "I see you found your way to the scent as well."

"Wow..." Thaya shook her head. "We're really all that's left of the original
resistance then?" There were too many emotions jumbled up inside for
her to be able to express them all. She leaned against a building looking
lost. The news about Whym hit her the hardest.
