[awesome biggrin ]
"I think I broke my arse." Zepatos complained with a laugh. "and my head."
---
"We can't do much more until Starfleet get back to us." Kirk said to Spock. "I want us to keep our shields at maximum sensible capacity, just in case we get any surprises. Spock, if you can get a scan going to analyse the ship wreckages that would help."
"the ship controls are working as normal, captain." Sulu said after going through various tests.
"computers are online and working. Electronics and external communications seem to be at normal. I re-sent our signal to starfleet." Uhurra added.
Kirk sighed and relief and flopped down into his chair. "Great. Scotty do we have a status report?"
"Everythin's back to normal captain, and i'm diverting power into the shields. One of my engineers broke his arm. that'll serve the silly bugger right for doing cartwheels. i'll send him upto medical bay."
Kirk smiled. "aye aye."
he looked over at Chekov. "if you want to make yourself useful while we wait and while Spock's busy, you could go down and see the Vulcan elders and let them know we'll be delayed on their trip home."
he leant back, thinking. "If this turns into a combat situation then i want them off my ship and somewhere safer. I'm not risking their safety with Nero around again. one hit could wipe out the cultural knowledge of all the vulcans, and we didn't fight to save them just for that to happen later."

Spock nodded and headed to his station to begin scans. The process would take some time.
--
"Hmm...sore perhaps but not broken," McCoy replied helping him back onto the bed. "I'll get you something to-"
The engineer arrived with the broken arm. He sighed. "Why do I get the feeling that a lot of fools are going to be coming in?" he mumble. "Give him something for the pain." he ordered one of the female nurses while going to tend to the new patient.

Zepatos sat gingerly on the bed and laughed. "Is it even possible to break your arse? besides i'll be fine. I'm used to concussions and the like - my ship's gravity malfunctions constantly." He looked over to all the high tech display screens and clean surroundings. "still this ship is new, shiny and very expensive...is it always this skitsopherenic?"

"Concussions shouldn't be taken lightly," McCoy commented while fixing up the other man's arm. At the mention of expensive he made a mental not to double check all the supplies later. "Not always...." he joked. "They just do it to annoy me. Probably to keep me from giving them their physical."

"bah! i'm tough, I've survive worse when i've been on my own." he shrugged. now the medical bay had warmed up after the quick stint of cold he felt the difference in heat more and pulled off his thick coat to cool down, revealing the tattoos up his arms. "heh. I never quite get it - is it more or less embarrassing to have a phsyical form someone you know? It's like 'does a stranger see me naked, or does a friend of acquaintance see me naked' - it's a hard decision."

Quote: Gaia: 0Moon_Maiden0 Name: Jinx Race: Kaygen Gender: Female Age: 23 in Human Years Occupation: Slave/Dancing Girl Appearance: Jinx is a cat like humanoid. She's covered in silverish fur which is a rarity in her species. Her "mane" (head of hair) is also short and silverish white but with added violet highlights. She has long pointed ears and a long tail similat to lion. Her garmets are little. She wears a black one piece outfit that falls just below her chest with matching colored leg warmers as well as various bangles and jewelry for display. Be careful of her claws too. Personality: Jinx doesn't really say much due to limited speech but she can be rather aggressive. Also protective of those she decides to care about. Bio: Her clan was running to get into hiding when the flying rocks came again and snatched them up. She managed to save a youngling only to get captured herself. The beings seemed pleased with her....something about her appearance it seemed. She's been on one ship and transferred to another for several months and the men who took her finally found a buyer. They drugged her and is now on her way to her new owner. She has to escape..... Strengths: Agility, physical strength, stealth, excellent hearing, smell, and vision which is even better in the dark. Weaknesses: Food, Males ((when in heat)), Limited English, Device on left arm suppresses her strength and shocks her if she tries to take it off. Ship?/home?: Currently abroad a ship on its way to an exchange./Home planet is of a tropical variety. About Race: The Kaygens are a fairly new discovered species. Not even the location of their planet is known yet to the Federation. Federation only came across them when a few were discover on an illegal trading ring and the smugglers refused to reveal where they came from-too much profit to gain. Overall they seem to be a primitive species. McCoy glanced at the tattoos. "Everyone is seen naked at least once," he shrugged. "People just need to get over it."

McCoy let the others finish up and checked up on Zepatos minor head injury. "No I don't and if I start hearing rumors on the ship I'll see to you won't be spreading your genes around, Fiz," he whispered. "Besides..it's not all bad-least not when a good looking female comes along."

Zeapatos burst out laughing and held his hands up in surrender. "Point taken, Doctor, I'll behave." he then smiled at him, enjoying the little aside. "heh heh, you know you're alright for a Starfleet guy. I like you. What made you join up, anyway? Aside form the poential of nekkid ladies."

((Sorry - lunch took a little longer than expected. As for the matter, don't believe I've said hey to 0Moon_Maiden0 yet - so hey smile ))
Chekov was in the middle of explaining the situation to the vulcan elders for the 7th time when it struck him. If he recalibrated the lateral sensor array he could track the gravitational eddies caused by ... well caused by whatever it was. Infact, if he could get Scottie to retrofit that array to recieve more power he could even scan for temporal anomalies.
"I am sorry, but I must communicate something to the captain."
The Vulcan elders looked on Chekov puzzled once again. They really didn't understand his accent, let alone all this nonsence about time travel which is clearly illogical, no matter what everyone else thought.
Chekov swiftly sped to the nearest console to communicate his idea to the Captain. He would need him on side to get Scottie to do the engineering work and to get Spock to help him in the analysis.

Kirk listened carefully to what Chekov was saying and rested his chin on his hand in thought. "Well you're the whiz-kid, I can't see why it's not worth a try." he pressed a button to make a link down to the engine rooms. "I hate to bother you again Scotty..." he said with a smirk, even through the comm link the engineer sounded busy, probably trying to modify things so that gravitational flux wouldn't' affect them again, "but Chekov has something interesting to tell you. I'd humor him - he's usually right."
"captain i'm upto my neck in here -"
"that's an order, Scott. be nice." he restrained a laugh and cut off the link.
--
Scotty grumbled to himself and marched off in search of Chekov, not wanting to waste time by waiting for him to walk all the way there. he was glad the doors were working again, however. "i swear I'm the only one who does any work around here." he grumbled as he walked.

Chekov was suprised to see Scottie march in, but decided it was best to explain his situation before Scottie had chance to complain about how much work he had. Chekov never understood why Scottie complained. He loved it really.
"Now Scottie, I know your busy... but...
if you could retrofit the lateral sensor array to recieve more power from the grid... without making it explode of course, I could reporgram the system to scan for temporal anomalies. It really is all theoretical of course. I mean... academic theory from stuff I have read. I'm sure I can make it work!"
Taking another deep breath, chekov continued to blurt out "I know for sure that I can refocus the lateral array to scan for gravitational eddies, if you don't mind me poking into the firmware for that system. It should help us track down the source of it - or at least where it originated and help us avoid stuff like this which affects your precious systems so much"
Taking a gulp, and several breaths to catch up on the ones he lost, Chekov awaited Scotties' reply...

Scotty folded his arms and listened to Chekov as he spoke quickly, raising an eyebrow as the idea started to settle with him. It was a couple of moments before a grin spread across his face.
"Y'know you might actually be onto somethin' there. I can retrofit the grid no problem, though we'd have to loose it form somewhere else, you can't make somethin' out of nothing. I reckon I could stabilise it if I used some of the stabilisation power we use to keep in one place in warp speed - after all while we're stationary we're not making use of it...hmm.." he grinned again and nodded. "very possible. come on then, let''s get to it. Though you're keeping your paws out. you give the directions and i'll make the ol' girl work."
