Lina kept her eyes away. A part of her wanted to look again, find she hadn't shot who she believed that to be. She kept her eyes looking to Iri and Jin. Her mind asked two questions, one if she had truly finished him, and the other asking if she would have to. She had shut out her energy senses, not wanting to know any of the answers to her questions.
She reached into the storage once more, one hand pulling the gun out while the other pulled a recovery device. Her mind weighed heavily one way or the other as she thought.

Iri recognizes the thing in Lina's hand as a weapon. The other, she can't identify. With a growl, Iri disappears. In the next instant, she's standing behind Lina and between her and the man on the ground, with her back to the woman. Both wings burst open to try to keep him out of her line of sight and fire. If need be, she'll sacrifice a wing. They can be repaired. She just has to make sure that this is who she thinks it is.
A roar echoes through the air. Jin's trying to hold Lina's attention, picking up on his sensei's intentions. He makes a thunderous landing about ten feet in front of her.

His eyes look up and past Iri, into the sky. He stares at it all, but sees nothing. A sizable part of his left cheek is blasted and charred, his exposed skin only in slightly worse shape than the rest of him. Wherever wasn't nicked was cut or scraped.

Lina stood there staring at Iri.
She glared for a long while, daring the woman to stop her before finally dropping her head. The mechgun dematerialized yet again. <******** it, temporal restriction act be damned, Honor be damned. Who the hell is that really?"
The girl crossed her arms, it was obvious who she meant.
She held the other device at her side and waited for Iri to investigate.
"I'll heal him if he's really him, but I can't say we won't have a problem if he knows too much about that mech."
She took several steps back to allow for a safety barrier.
She looked at Jin calmly, the Roar had been completely ignored by the half dragon girl.
((Dammit, that reveal makes it make all the more sense why "carry on my wayward son" was in my head all day ))

(( Oh s**t! Now it's in my head. Got the sudden urge to play Guitar Hero now. ))
Iri breathes a sigh of relief. At least Lina's not gonna shoot right away. The Fury shakes her head and moves to kneel at the man's side. She takes a steadying breath. None of this makes sense. No sense at all.
"Look, you, you'd better name yourself. If you're Reeve, then say so. Because Lina here seems to have a quick trigger finger. And if I see you shot, I think I'm gonna have a f***ing mental breakdown." Iri pauses, waiting for him to speak. Is he even conscious? Maybe if she uses telepathy?
Jin stalks closer to Lina, rumbling in what he hopes is a soothing way.
"Really, ladies 'n gents, no reason ta be hasty now."

He makes a sort of cough and his pupils start scanning from left to right, as if reading something. Breathless, he mouths words as best as he can with his damaged face. However, it should not be hard for any ninja to read lips.

Lina stood there calmly. She raised an eyebrow at the words.
"He was more coherent before the blast and before I shot him, though I've never seen what happens when a fold reactor explodes in close proximity to someone with a brain."

Iri's eyes widen and she rocks back a little. What on earth.
She looks to Lina with obvious confusion. "The hell? What are you talking about? What's happened here? I don't understand any of this computer jargon. Or whatever it is."
Seeing as talking to him won't help her, Iri leans over the man again. She's looking for identifying traits now. Shouldn't there be a scar on his neck? She remembers that much.

All the old scars are there- this is the genuine article. But it might be hard to tell that under all the gore. In another time, Reeve would have had something to say about three people just standing there after one of them shot him in the head three times. But now he can only manage to go on.

Lina shrugged before answering in her usual reporting manner.
"I decided to jump the big robot from the attacking force. I was planning on basically dumping the thing out of the atmosphere, figuring it would either burn up, or run out of air. He armed the self destruct on theirs, the one he apparently was piloting by the way, to take out both mecha when I tried to use the one I patched up to move em both with something sort-of like a teleporter... though it usually doesn't work too well in atmosphere when something's not blowing it up.
So is it him? I'd rather he be able to think right so I can question him before I have to find out if I blow his brains out."
She raised up the regeneration device. The label marked trimate.

Iri recognizes him alright. It's Reeve. There's no one else it could be. He's just too familiar. But now she's reading his lips and getting a grip on what he's saying.
"Uh, Lina. Saber ready? Something's loaded. Shift weight... compensate for extra ammo... Oh s**t. If there's any possibility that machine's still able to move, I think we need to take him and leave. Erm, mind if you work whatever healing technique you've got? I can assure you, this is Reeve Rhion. I recognize his scars, his energy, everything. And you're not going to blow his brains out, either!"
Jin hisses, feeling his sensei's uneasiness. The dragon shifts his weight and gets ready to fly.

Pain begins to take its toll on Reeve, and his eyes droop before closing, stopping his mantra.

"There's no way it could be getting up from that...." she sounded only slightly unsure on that. "Likewise if he really is too close to the knowledge of how that machine was made and the information gets out... I'll be the first one here, but if I don't blow his brains out someone else would kill him before any of us had even met him"
Lina walked over and broke the casing of the device over Reeve, A greenish dust covered his body and began working it's way through his wounds rapidly, whatever the device was it was no healing technique, the wounds healed too cleanly and too rapidly.
Within a minute all the injuries would be recovered though it would not restore consciousness. A black oily goop bleeding out of his skin after the process finished.
She made a move to lift Reeve, looking to Jin.
"You'll carry him I take it?"
Her dragon tail, horns and scales appeared, having let her shape-shift wear off. Though she still remained in a humanoid form.

The Fury doesn't miss the hint of doubt in Lina's words. But, it does ease her nerves a little.
"You would know better than me on the matter. As far as getting Reeve home--Jin?"
Jin walks over to the three smaller forms and crouches as low as he can without laying down. His intent is obvious.
"How 'bout this? Ya all ride back wit' me 'n one o' ya hold him secure. Sound like a plan?"
Iri shrugs her shoulders and looks to Lina.
"I can protect him from getting wind burned. All it takes is to shield him with my wings. You want a lift back to the Academy? Or do you have a preferred method of transport?"

She rubbed a shoulder. Looking at the strange garments she wore as if they were very uncomfortable.
"I'll take the lift, My ride sortof half blew up and I haven't really figured out aiming shushin yet."
She paused her talk for a few moments as she moved herself and Reeve up onto Jin.
"Not to mention with the group that was advancing I'd rather not end up somewhere on my own... Did you avoid them on the way here?"
