Well I know for a fact that at least 50% of the reason they wrote Imposter is because they were getting horrible reviews by the LA times. I put this together because I read somewhere that the LA Times hated them and often made fun of them, and called them a children's band. Then if you watch this one recording of a live performance, Elfman says "This is for a couple of a** holes down at the LA Times, who think they're too good. 'Called the Imposter." I'd show you the clip but SteveBartek.com took off their Videos because they ddin't like people hotlinking.

Ahh, sucks. Yeah, I saw that before they took it down. Hadn't remembered it before you brought it up, but, yeah, I know what you're talking about. It wasn't just LA Times, though, because from what I heard, a lot of media didn't like them. Not necessarily because they were a "children's band" (which is really creepy, and I wish I knew what that means), but because they were just weird. And then there are the fans who loved that about them, so, it all works out.

*pointpoint* There's an interview where Danny is talking about how OB was the band that the presses loved to hate. He admits that they weren't tough-looking, or your everyday rock 'n' roll band, or singing rock 'n' roll themes, or even close to what was popular, but the fans loved them and eveything about them, so that's how they've survived blaugh heart

Oh my god! Somehow all the other times I was watchign that video my eyes didn't notice that, they were too busy watching the insane animation of the cover of So-Lo! Watching it again now, I realise, also that when it appears to start over at the beginning the little girl reflected behind him is Satan now!
