(OOC dang...It's so very annoying to have no internet on weekends /OOC -teehee, code...-)

[Learned minor reparation]

Xeiashi was, luckily, quite far from the source of the muffled explosion he heard awhile back. Aside from that and a few fellow mages grabbing their texts, he was undisturbed as he studied from his own book. That was yesterday, though, today was a day for extensive practice. A nearby table was littered with the results of his testing, namely pens, chunks of wood, and small bottles in varying stages of destruction.

"Hmm, seems it was wrong...it isn't that it must be smaller than a softball, it just needs to have less VOLUME than a softball...." he said to nobody in particular as he surveyed the results. On a hunch, he decided to test if it worked on everything...starting with his glasses. True, he admitted, without them I AM blind and useless...but if I can't even fix my glasses than what use is this stupid spell? Without a second thought, he smashed his glasses into the table, bending and chipping them beyond usability. "Now then, lets hope this works..." slips out as he attempts to fix them

[minor reparation]
(OOC-edit- oh sure...first time using a new spell and I forget to say what im using...sucks that it didn't work though)

Kamika's footsteps echoed through the quiet hallways of the practise halls as she walked to the library. When she entered it, she saw Bakar studying avidly.

"Back for some more studying?", she said.

((well if it's fixed imma post!))

Still very vexed at Bakar, Panda peered around the room. It was then that he noticed that more and more people were showing up. He didn't expect to have so many people so soon. He was up to the challenge, but his experiments may have to be put on hold. Wanting to prove a point he turned his gaze back to Bakar.

"If you ever think about defiling any more of my equipment you had better be prepared to face the consequences. I believe being one of my test mice for a week would be a better use of your time then trying to learn magic like that. Just remember, this equipment is more important then you are.." He said with a sigh.

He left Bakar there to stand petrified as he walked to the front of the library. As he did, his gaze went from book shelf to book shelf, seeing which book was taken and from where. He wanted to take mental notes of all his books as well as the people who had them. As he reached the front though, he turned around with a smile as he cleared his throat.

"Listen up you novice spell casters. I am suppose to be your instructor, you will be learning magic from me and all of the equipment I have brought with me. It will not be an easy task, but we will be the life blood behind this benevolent order. It will be our job to protect this order in ways that the men and women with swords cannot. If you feel up to that challenge, I will offer you tutelage. HOWEVER, if you break, vandalize, lose, or steal my equipment you will feel my wraith. I can do things that you can't even begin to imagine, and things that would give you nightmares all of your life. That will be your ONLY warning. If you need help, have any questions, or just need to talk I will lend you an ear. Probably my own. One more thing. My lab, is strictly forbidden. Not for secrecy, but for your own protection, as some of you may be aware. That is all." He said as he turned to leave the room.

Feline peeked around the stack of books she had been making to test her latest ability she was trying to learn. "I guess I better put these back where they belong."

She took her time, enjoying this little break in all the hard studying she had been doing. "I would have never thought that learning a new form of magic would be *this* hard. Things came so easily to me in my homeland."

She thought of her homeland, it seemed so far away from the life she lived now. She didn't ever know if she'd fully get used to living in an area *not* built around people's flying needs.

She brushed her hands off..."You'd think they'd have someone take care of all this dust that seems to abound in here..."

She went into the section where she thought she had seen a book pertaining to the next ability she was trying to learn. She knew she should ask Panda for a study list of books, but she had such a fun time exploring the liberary that she just never got around to doing it.

She was finding nothing promising on the lower levels so she flew up to the tops of the bookcases to check things out.

"There it is!" She reached through the rungs of the ladder that was there for others, "Ladders!" She laughed, "What will these people think up next!"
and pulled out, 'The Minor Knock Backs of the Overseer'

"Close enough!" She flew back down to her table, still chuckling over the silliness that is ladders.

She settled down and began to study.

"I'll have to make sure I return these to Panda." She looked over at the single book that was sticking out of her satchel, 'The Glorious Light of the Overseer's Crotch'. "May just have to keep that one though...Panda would never know..."

((OOC-dang I havent been able to post because of the glitch and other crap...its been 1-2 days, can I say that I successfully cast minor repair just because I would have already?))

For the dozenth time -not because he still hadn't fixed his glasses, he just wanted the practice- Xeiashi chipped and repaired his spectacles. He muttered to himself, and anybody who might be listening, "Well, a dozen times aught to be..." and was interrupted by a message in the booming voice that could only belong to a teacher...this must be the feared 'Panda' he had heard the incredibly odd stories about...

After a terror-inspiring speech, Xeiashi surveyed the destruction he had wrought upon the wood blocks.
...hopefully this isn't the 'equipment' he was talking about... he thought repeatedly as he returned them to their original places, perfectly restored. The pens were his, though, he kept them as momentos to remind him what will happen if he angers Panda.

At last he went to put back the book, "
Magic for repairs of the minor sort" As he pulled over a ladder, an unearthly hush fell over the area. great...its him...its gotta be him... he thought as he tried to look like he did nothing. As a potential excuse, he grabbed the first book he saw after he returned his current book. It was "Glue: It holds us together"

Bakar quietly replaces some of the books that he had stolen earlier, not wanting to make the professor any angrier. "One day, I'll be the one turning HIM ugly." he thought, no, promised to himself.

((OOC @chem: It doesn't really work like that. you don't just automatically learn new skills. you have to put a little effort into it. if it's been 2 days or then write "after a few days chem learned blah" and then you can work on your next skill. ^.^ at least i'm not approving every skill you master lol, so it could be worse. If it were auto matic then people would post once, and wait a few weeks to be a super wizard with no real effort.

OH YEAH! and guys, even though you are here to learn skills, don't forget the actual RP itself. It would look better if more then 3 people posted over there.))

After removing his science equipment panda walked over and sat on his desk. He observed each student as they went on about their studies and he smiled. At least they got his message. He was normally a lenient guy, but he wanted to keep the area as calm as possible before the bigger spells were learned and played with. So he put on the mean teacher image. Picking up a book he began to read each passage. Changing your body was difficult but he had it mastered. He just liked the pictures.

"So class, what have you learned? If anyone would like to practice, I'm sure I could set up a demonstration area. It doesn't ALWAYS have to be practiced in the library. Many spells and charms are better learned in a practical environment." He said lowering his book, revealing two golden and bushy eyebrows.

"Oh and feline, you can have that copy...I have a bunch more. It seems girls really like that book, must be the pictures." He said with a polite smile, looking at her bag.

Evelyn heard Panda's spill from under the table, and after contemplating other options--all requiring not eating or relieving herself for many days--she came out, hold Hex Appeal close to her chest.
"Mr. . . .er...Professor Mr. Panda? I'm sorry for borrowing your book..."

Panda eyed the girl who climbed out from under the table cautiously. Why anyone would be under the table with a book was beyond him, but he wanted to make sure it was safe.

"and just WHAT were you doing under the table with that book missy? I don't believe I said that it was okay to leave my books on the floor. They aren't playthings. So please don't abuse them. You are allowed to borrow them, but I EXPECT you to respect it, as much as you respect me."He said scowling at her.

Evelyn's usually shinning eyes were almost overrun with tears, her lips trembling. But the tears would not fall in this public place. She swallowed, allowing time to compose her self before looking up at Panda. In a cool calm collected voice that anyone who had seen her moments before would not think possible, she spoke to Panda.

"If you would allow me an explanation, sir, I was under the table in fear of another of your experiments gone array. While I quite understand their importance, the explosions are bad for not only my nerves, but my High Priestess's. I would never dream of dropping a book, or leaving it on the floor, Professor Panda."

She managed to keep the venom out of her voice, despite her current disdain for the Professor. She did not particularly appreciate being scolded, or being made to almost cry in public. She curtsied as she should, perhaps bending slightly lower than normal, in mock respect. She now did respect the books more than the man before her.

((XDD no, it's alright. ^.^ i'm just the odd guy who doesn't know how to interact with other humans. your suppose to not like me now.))

Panda eyed her with amusement. It wasn't often someone would be so vehemently angry with him. Mostly out of fear.

Panda let out a chuckle. "Most spell casters are surrounded by explosions on a regular basis. In fact, if I wanted to, I could make a human body explode. If you think that experiment was bad, you should have been around for the early days. were-rats are EXTREMELY nasty creatures. lorika understands this, which is why she barely comes around here anymore. You on the other hand, wish to learn magic, which requires knowledge. THAT requires books. Ruined books are no more useful then a broken arm or leg. THAT is why they are so precious, and THAT is why you will treat them with respect. I really don't give a damn if you respect me or not. No one has to. In a while you won't even remember me." He said, scowling a bit, furrowing his brow a bit.

"As if things weren't already complicated..."

It wasn't hard to tell when she had found the training hall. The smell was like a beacon, clear as the shine of a lighthouse beam over the sea, and she had followed it through the corridors without fail. Ah-ha! So this is where that lovely book smell was coming from! Then again, the combination of feline and bookworm might have had something to do with it. Miyumi's eyes practically sparkled the moment she came in view of the library stacks, and the cat's tail wiggled in silent delight. She had always enjoyed books and the idea of magic; finding both in the same place was like candy for the brain. Ooooh...so many books here...where should I start?

In her excitement, it took a moment for the presence of other students to register. Ulp...is there some kind of class going on right now? Argh, this is just like being late to the first day of school, except that I don't know how many days I've even missed! But, since she was already standing in the doorway, leaving without being seen probably wasn't an option...and she didn't really want to leave, anyway. Maybe she could learn something here that would be useful. So, with a bit of unease, she stepped into the room, then made her way over to the many shelves, making sure not to disturb anyone who looked busy.

"Okay...there's got to be some kind of book on the basics in here..." she muttered under her breath. After some wandering back and forth, and much searching of the shelves, she found what sounded like an interesting title. 'Mind over Matter: A Telekinesis Guide for Beginners.' Well, I'm a beginner again now, and TK could be useful...all right, I'll try it. Book tucked underneath her arm, she slipped into an open chair. Unfortunately, she forgot about her tail, and sat down on it at the same time. Wide eyes turned to tightly closed ones as she realized what happened and swallowed a yelp. Instead, out came a strained sort of squeak, combined with a meow. "Meeep!" As fast as she could, she covered her mouth with both paws, trying with all her might not to make another sound, even as her aching tail reminded her that it was not meant to be used as a cushion. Owowowowow! And in her distraction, the feline didn't even realize there was someone else at the same table.

"But that's okay. I'll still do my best!"

Feline blushed hard when Panda mentioned the book in her bag. She'd hoped that no one else saw what it was as she quickly shoved it in her bag.

"Thank you, Professor Panda." She blurted out. Geez, how much more of a fool of myself can I make today. At least he seems to have forgotten me feeling up his arm.

She raised her hand, "Um, Professor? I'd like to do a hands on class in a demonstration area." She paused thinking about the last incident with Panda she had, "That is if you promise not to try and change the color of my fur."

Her head quickly turned at the sound of someone in extreme pain and to her surprise she saw a cat lady settling herself rather uncomfortably on a chair not ment for people with tails. She was surprised and excited to see another cat person. She though she was the only one.

Feline quickly glanced her over and was slightly disappointed that the cat lady didn't have wings too... Well, she might not be from my homeland, but I'll bet we still get along!

She snagged an extra stool that was next to her and handed it over to the cat lady. "Here you go," she gave an understanding smile, "I find it easier to sit on one of these...nothing to catch a tail or in my case wings on."

User ImageSta enters the huge library.
She sees busy people and tries not to disturb them.
Sta heads straight for a row of books on chemistry, engineering, and physics.
She looks through the books, searching for information on certain materials.
She mumbles to herself mental notes as she reads along.
"steel... well yeah... carbon nanotubes.... fullerene... aggregated diamond nanorod... huh... buckminsterfullerene... but pores... 10 nanometers... wavelength..."
