When we get home, I know we won't be home at all...
... This place we live; it is not where we belong.

• ◄AKIHI► •

The Kaua twins were silent the rest of the journey to Pentheus. They each had nothing to say. Words were useless for them at the moment... Words wouldn't ease the pain of the girl or calm the mind of the boy. Only action would save them.

Once in the inn, they each took their room keys and went their separate ways. Alihi now had the pack on her back, and Akihi had Excalibur in his hands. They were still quiet, as if both of them were trying to fade out of sight and mind. The tactician, who was paired with Ninian for the night, shook her head slightly. "Go ahead and go first, Ninian..." She smiled weakly, shifting the bag. They had traveled far and Alihi hadn't slept since before the party. Her weariness was obvious, but she couldn't rest. Her mind wouldn't stop buzzing.

As long as Amara was still gone, Alihi wouldn't be able to rest peacefully.

Meanwhile, Akihi silently slipped into his room, closing the door behind him. It didn't matter to him who his roommate was for that night; he most likely wouldn't say much to whoever it was anyways. The sacred tome in his hand held all of his attention. He flopped down on the bed farther away from the door, laying on his stomach, Excalibur in front of him. Hesitantly, as if afraid to damage the book, he brushed his fingertips over the spine. It felt the same as any other tome did.

It's not, though. He told himself as he opened it slowly, hearing the pages ruffle as he flipped through them with care, eyes scanning and absorbing the text. Sure, he wasn't sure if he could actually use Excalibur in combat, but that didn't mean he couldn't look at it! And I intend to. He thought with the smallest of smiles.

♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦

And I miss who we were, and the town we could call our own...
... Going back to get away after everything has changed.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "WAAAARM BEEEEEEED!"

A sudden shout came from the doorway of the room Akihi was in, after the door had been flung open. Standing under the archway was Abel, and he was more than a little excited. For the past couple weeks he had only slept either by a campfire, or on an itchy straw mattress. That is, when he wasn't receiving medical treatment. So naturally, he was excited to be able to sleep in an outrageously comfortable place like this.

"The mattress, the pillows! I bet they're goose feathers! No, maybe better!" His eyes grew wider by the second. He didn't even notice that somebody else was in the room. "...Look at all these blankets! Th-they look so warm! I can't stand it! Look out bed, here I coooome!"

At those words, he darted into the room and jumped up high, onto the closest bed. The bed was very bouncy, and once he hit the top, he was soon back into the air. "Wooo!" He stood up again, and jumped on it, enjoying himself, like a small child would. However, just because he was older didn't mean that he was excused from the reason why parents don't want their children to jump on the bed.

After a few jumps, he landed the wrong way, and his body was flung to the side, where he hit the wall. Then, he fell back onto the bed with good force, where he then bounced off the other side, and landed on the other bed. And of course, he was yelling during the entirety of it. Once he realized that he was no longer being flung around, he opened his eyes, and raised his head. Regrettably, there was another face looking right back at him with a very familiar look of shock. "Oh... H-hey there, Akihi...!" There was an awkward pause. "... ...You know, we've got to stop meeting like this."

I've been dreaming for so long...
... To find a meaning, to understand...

• ◄AKIHI► •

Akihi was comfortable. He had a bed, he had a book, and he was nice and cozy. Something in the back of his head told him that he should check on his sister, but...

"WAAAARM BEEEEEEED!"

Akihi jumped, closing Excalibur with a "slam", forgetting that his fingers were in the tome. He stared with bewilderment at Abel as he began to spaz out about the beds. Sure, they're comfortable, but still...! He slowly shook his head, sliding his fingers free and bringing Excalibur closer to himself. It was a habit of his; when things were loud and chaotic, he always brought whatever he was reading closer to himself, as if that would help him stay immersed in the text.

No matter how focused he was, he couldn't ignore the sudden "slam" that rang out as Abel's body hit the wall after a jump-gone-wrong. He winced with sympathy as he watched Abel... come closer and closer?
"Yaugh!" With Abel's weight suddenly pressing against him, he was pressed against the mattress temporarily. His face whammed against the cover of Excalibur. He let out a groan, twisting his head to stare at Abel with a look of shock with a twinge of irritation.

"H-hey..." Akihi blinked for a few moments before cracking a smile. "... That'd be nice. Having a meeting where we don't end up... in this kind of position..." He shifted slightly, moving Excalibur from under his head to the edge of the bed. "... I'm... actually kind of surprised that you're here... I heard that you were injured..."

The secret of life...
... Why am I here to try again?

Well now he knew who his room mate was. But that didn't bother him, He knew the red-head and hey, least it was company. He watched as Roy walked into their room and came out a few moments later with a bath towel in his hand. If he was going to take a bath then to the lower level it was. Ephraim for one was going to use the shower in the room. As soon as Roy left the hallways, the lancer got up from the bench and walked down the hallway to their room. He tossed his hat and dusted cloak on a chair that sat beside his bed and headed toward the bathroom that was attatched to their room.

~Few moments later~ (YOU GUYS GET NO DETAILS IN SHOWER LOLZ *bricked*..ow)

Well, that shower was rather refreshing if he had to say so himself. He returned to the room shirtless, hair wet and dripping even with a towel over his head (He didn't actually rub his hair) . His tunic and arm cuffs were in his left arm and was suddenly thrown with his hat and cloak. He stood for a moment and sat down at the edge of his bed. The pendant he wore which was forgotten for a while was remembered when the cold metal hit his collar bone. He picked it, staring at it and fell back on his bed, aimlessly staring at the ceiling.

((Timeskip for the young lord~ And nope...you aren't getting any details about what happened in the bath.))

Well...that was perhaps the most shocking bath he had taken ever. Roy certainly wasn't expecting a co-ed bath. But what was done was done. He walked back to his room shirtless, but sporting pajama pants (shut up they're comfy) while the towel was in his hands as he dried off his hair. Once the towel was lowered, the hair was a mess. He shook his head to rid his hair whatever water was left before he ran his fingers through his hair. Good...it may be wet, but at least it was back to its normal style.

The young lord paused at the door to calm himself down. Whatever happened in the bath certainly left him with a red face (though he could just lie his way out of it by saying it was a hot bath. He sure as hell wasn't going to explain what happened). He took a deep breath and opened the door before walking in. The towel was discarded in the bathroom, and the redhead took a seat on his bed, his eyes closed. Ephraim was in the room now, staring at the ceiling. It looked like he had just washed up as well.

Roy's thoughts were broken as he felt his bed sag slightly a few times. He glanced over his shoulder. There was Darko, laying on the bed. The little imp jumped back up to his feet, flapping his wings until he was above the bedpost line, then dropped. He bounced on the bed a few times, flailing around as he spun, chirping quietly as the height of the bouncing decreased until the imp was lying on the bed again. This repeated a few times, and Roy couldn't help but smirk as he watched the hyperactive creature bounce on the bed like a little kid.

Roy got up and went over to his bag before he pulled out an undershirt. He threw it on before he sat back down on the bed and caught Darko as he made another drop. The imp chirped in his hands before fluttering over to the bag, where it would sleep for the night. The young lord then glanced over at Ephraim.

"It's been a long day. We've got a lot of ground to cover in the morning. See you in the morning Ephraim." he said softly, muffling a yawn as he went under the covers. He then reached out to turn the lamp on his side off so he could sleep.

Once he was off, he stepped backwards, and plopped his rump down on the side of his bed, and listened to Akihi. "Yeah, well... I was. But their staff users healed me. They were able to seal the wounds, and mend the fractures, over time."

He loosened his boots, then kicked them off, letting them lay wherever they fell. He dealt with his coat the same way, after sliding it off as well. "...I just didn't want to be left behind." He pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it behind him, then looked down at the floor. "It's my fault Amara got taken, that night... I-I want to get her back. I want to get her back, so much! She's just an innocent little girl! ...If Alihi still hates me afterwards, then so be it." He slid his pants off, then buried himself underneath the mountain of blankets. "...She doesn't need me, anyway."

In practically no time at all, he was asleep. He was exhausted from the past couple of weeks, and he would need his rest. It was a big day tomorrow. However, it was uncertain if Akihi would get much sleep, himself. A few minutes after Abel had dozed off, his snoring had filled the room.

~Ninian~

"Alright, Alihi," Ninian said. She worried about the tactician. She probably will not get much sleep tonight . . . I feel awful, but what else can we do except save Amara?

She entered their room, removing her pack and setting it on one of the twin beds. Grabbing a towel and a roll of bandages from her pack, she made her way to the showers, slightly nervous. She didn't want anyone to see the nasty bruise that surrounded her eye, or the last of the scabs there, just barely covered by the bandages she wore. After carefully washing her face, she quickly wrapped her wounds. She did the same for the bandaging around her stomach, though this called for more bandaging to keep her still sore rib in place; the healers had told her she'd broken at least one rib, if not two.

Clean and re-bandaged, albeit slightly haphazardly, Ninian returned to her room. Slipping the remaining bandages back into her pack, she towel dried her hair, running her fingers through it to get rid of at least a few tangles. Walking gingerly in her bare feet, wearing only her dress (and of course the rings and the necklace Nils had given her, which she almost never took off and had put back on after her shower), Ninian sat on the bed, let herself fall backwards, and spreading her hair out across the blanket. A few moments later, she shifted, swinging her feet up onto the bed and moving her head to rest on the pillow. A few moments more, and the dancer was fast asleep.

Ephraim's head tilted toward where the young lord was now sleeping. He quietly sat up, drying his hair completly with the towel that sat on his head for a few moments even while he laid back on the bed. Once h is hair was (decently) dry, he threw the towel at the edge of the bed, jsut where the railing was before he climbed under the covers himself. Maybe the morning will be better, jsut hopefully.

"See you in the morning as well"

Few moments later, his eye lids closed shut and he was asleep no more then a minute later.

Ganon sighed softly, sitting out on the roof and staring up at the moon. His guitar rested in his lap as he picked up a sprig of mint and carefully placed it between his teeth, letting the buzz of the reptile-intoxicating herb slowly work its way into his head. He plucked at a few strings, closing his eye and leaning back as he murmured, "Red like the... no, don't use red... that's like a five-pence adjective, man, go for the five-crown adjectives." He heaved a sigh, plucking a few more notes, but even they sounded reedy and weak to him. "Damnit, I haven't been able to muse properly since I met her..."

A little smile spread on his scaly lips. "Damnit, Aruna. Songs come natural about everything else, I can't come up with anything..." He exhaled heavily, shaking his head. "Gleaming scales-- damnit, no! That's... that's just awful, man. Why... why can't I describe her!?"

Someone leaned out their window and shouted at him to stop yelling at the sky.

Ganon could feel a blush creeping up his neck and he quietly began to play his guitar again, sighing. "Damn she-demon won't stop twisting through my head..."

He paused and murmured, "There's a song in there somewhere."

(I'm really tempted to post for both of you of what happened in that shower. Nothing naughty, just the details of one taking a shower.)

(He washed his left arm first!)

Jaren had been watching his prey with white hot intesity... the lizard seemed to be lost in thought about something... On th other side of the roof Jaren was crouched behind the chimney still dressed in his cow suit he pulled th mask over his face so as not to be reconized in case the lizard saw him.

He held his wooden sword closer to himself and stepped out from behind the chimney. "I like your costume!" He said to Ganon.

Joshua and Charles had opted to stay in the back of the wagon to finish the game of cards they had started... it wasn't going to well for Charles as Joshua kept pulling cards he had secreted on his body... secretly... being a master at this sort of thing and Charles not having eyes he doubted the entombed would notice. Laying down an ace of diamonds he smiled. "Unless you can beat that I win my friend."
PostPosted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:44 pm

"Of course I had not expected to beat your A with my 4." He looked at his ace, and then back at Joshua. "Do you lay down a card, since you won that bout, or am I to?"

I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae
Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another!

~)Sue(~

Sue had a room to herself, and it was just as well that it be this way. There was so much going through the nomad's mind, that she didn't want to trouble other people with her own thoughts. The Nomad Trooper was grown up enough, so she could handle her own problems. Still, it greatly bugged her that no one else was thinking about whom they were dealing with. If she were to ever turn against FEF for any reason, even a good one, would she be dealt with in the same way?

We shouldn't follow a leader driven by vengeance. That's what Grandfather said.

But those weren't just Dayan's words that Sue believed, they were her own. With such thoughts in her mind, taunting her that the trusted tactician, Alihi had become so determined to save her daughter that she wouldn't even find a reason behind the possible defection of Vika, all Sue could do was take a nice relaxing bubble bath. She must have soaked for hours before changing into a set of nomadic robes similar in color to her original, and just laying upon her bed without even covering herself with a blanket.

"Well you lay one now." Joshua said while thinking. "Not that it matters anyway.." And it didn't matter for in a few minutes Joshua had won all the cards.

"Well then I suppose I win the wager? Now I'll ask the question now and save the favor for later." Joshua looked serious. "How did you get that way.... all the entombed I met tried to eat me... you haven't. I'm curious."

One was laid, it was the 2, but it was soon over. "Gahh... You are too good, almost like you cheated..." Charles sighed, and gave up.

"It is not easy to explain, like the dawn of man. I have yet to find an answer, just one day I happen to be dying, the next is digging out of the ground! One hell of a nap, chap." Charles didn't take off his gloves. "It took a few tries, but I crafted these gloves so I would not have to carry a tome around, all of my knowledge has condensed on them, part of my ascendancy. My first theory is that a necromancer ruled over for a while and revived me, but was a delayed spell. By the time it took effect, it was too late for him. My second is that this is a natural cycle, and I happen to the the "once in a blue moon" where nature messes something up and lets it go. An anomaly. My third is concerning the use of magic, since I delved into it so much, finding its ruse, I retained some memory within my magical limits. Through relentless use of magic; or just one grandiose surge of raw magical power, I was brought back to life. Any of these could be right, could be mixed to find the truth, but as of right now, I can't come to a logical conclusion, they all seem illogical."
