Despite a rather saddening turnout (Only three people, including me), we did have fun giving Kill-team a go. I played and lost twice with my rather weak list, the chaps three times, with a Sternguard and Tau list respectively. The Tau player was the big winner as he won every game he was in, playing his first two with four Crisis Suits (Two with a plasma rifle and flamer, one with two plasma rifles and the latter with a cyclic ion blaster and airbursting fragmentation device), after which he decided to trade them in for six stealth suits, where the leader had a markerlight and fusion blaster, the rest all burst cannons. The marine player had seven Sternguard, with one heavy bolter and a sergeant with a lightning claw.

All in all, it was a good day, with plenty of food for thought on how to proceed, not to mention some good preparation for the event next year.

Again you bring dishonour to our dojo. emotion_donotwant

Though it should be said that Guard in particular can have a hard time in this setting, as they both lack the stats and the combined firepower to really hurt their opponents, especially the ones you faced, whom were horribly tooled towards taking on just about anything they would come across, be it in cover or clad in power armour!

Not sure how your group stands on vehicles, but how about a few storm troopers backed by a Chimera? emotion_yatta

Yesterday we kicked off a Summer long Kill-team campaign that is being run at my FLGS, which is a combination of the latest edition (Individual models with USR specialists and a leader that can take advancements) and the fourth edition (Brute squads that act as sentries with Doomsday Devices and whatnot). It was good fun, we all managed to get four or so games in, two as the heroes, two as the Brutes.

My own team, made up of Temptestus Scions, did rather well for itself, managing to win one and narrowly losing the other.

The team:

Tempestus Scions (7) - Tempestor with plasma pistol and power weapon, plasma gun, hotshot volley gun

Specialist 1: Ignore Cover (on a plasma gun)
Specialist 2: Relentless (on a hotshot volley gun)
Specialist 3: Fleshbane (on a regular hotshot lasgun)

My leader got the following advances so far: +1 to ranged weapon strength and +1 BS. Yeah, he has a S8 plasma pistol, I may need to swap it for a regular Hotshot pistol.

So, a new version of Kill Team has been released this weekend and more or less turned into a "proper" game now with an actual dead tree format release.

The boxed set can be found here: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NL/Warhammer-40000-Kill-Team-ENG

€50,- for a full tactical squad (€35,-), a full Fire Warrior boxed set (€40,-), an A5 format rulebook and a Kill Team booklet..? What sorcery is this? Even without local discounts this boxed set is a steal to say the least.

The digital only rules can be found here: http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/kill-team-2016.html

With a long overdue vacation finally coming up in a bit less than a month, we're going to try and do a Kill Team tourney at the store one Saturday, where we'll hopefully get enough participants to get three rounds in, give or take.

In preparation for this I've decided to do a Militarum Tempestus themed Kill Team, both in an attempt to improve my rather basic painting skills and because I really need a diversion from all the Heresy-era projects I've been working on until recently.

So, two lists have been written, one with, one without a transport.

41st Omega Banshees - list 1 - 200 pts

Tempestus Scions (5) - Bolt pistol, power weapon, hotshot volley gun and plasma gun

Taurox Prime - Taurox gatling cannon and twin-linked autocannons

41st Omega Banshees - list 2 - 200 pts

Tempestus Scions (5) - Bolt pistol, power weapon, hotshot volley gun and plasma gun

Tempestus Scions (5) - Bolt pistol, hotshot volley gun and melta gun

Mission specialists
1. Hotshot volley gunner - Relentless
2. Plasma gunner - Ignore Cover
3. Random scrub - Preferred Enemy

As for the leader, here's hoping I don't get a crap trait when we roll for those! sweatdrop
