Anezka Vujo After some time of playing harvest games and wandering about, Anezka decided to seek out her mother and see how she was doing. Hoping she was still where she had been left, Ani checked for her in the Cider House. Upon entering she saw her mother kneeled down by a man. Walking over, she placed her hand on Shy's shoulder.
Startled slightly, Shy turned her head and looked up. On seeing that it was Ani, she quickly stood and took her daughter's arm. "Anezka...that man..." She glanced around and then pulled her daughter away from anyone who might hear. "That man is searching for something...and I swear to you...He said Protectress. Ani, he might have a piece of the tri-rune...or had...we need to help him find it...This could be your chance."
"You don't think he'd just give it to me, do you?...He wouldn't part with it that easily." Ani chewed on her lip, "Well...we can try...if nothing else, he might be able to connect me with someone else from the Protectorate." She walked over to the man and knelt down, "Excuse me...sir...may I help you?" "No, no," mumbles Roggan. "I've lost it, 's all. My medallion. My lady of the water, she'll be so disappointed." He shakes his head sadly.

Hearing Roggan, Ani looked up at her mother, her golden eyes wide with surprise. He actually has one...Or at least something close...What else could it be? "Lady of the Water?...Do you mean Twinket?...The Filor?"
Veshengo nodded as he thought. I have no use for Rose Oil...not since...well, no. And I do have that other serum. It's best not to become too obsessive and anxious. No...no Rose Oil. He then let out a chuckle at Ziva's comment, "Always nice when something has multiple uses, isn't it? And who couldn't use a bit of luck here and there. Yes, How much for the ginger honey then?"

Roggan blinks at her. "A what? No, no, it's the medallion I've lost. About this big around with a long chain." He makes a circle with his thumb and forefinger. "Saw it last down by the river."
"Twenty couplets," says Ziva, putting the rose oil away. "You can drink it alone or put it in tea. This is enough for...oh, two uses, I would say."

"Oh..." Anezka nodded, a slight frown on her face, "Well...are you retracing your steps?...There's quite a lot of space between here and the river...it could be anywhere. Are you sure you don't want my mum and me to help you out?"
Twenty couplets, that's a bit steep for me, he thought. He only had seven at the moment, left over from the gift in his pumpkin and wouldn't have more until he delivered the pepper oil to Mama. "It's tempting...but I may have to hold off for now. And besides, I really ought to get back to Mama." He tipped his head apologetically and raised up from the table, "Thank you, though." He nodded to Ziva and Ulo, then left the Cider House and headed back down the road.

Ziva nods politely. "Of course. Farewell, traveler."

Tamlin stood in shocked silence as the bright cloud enveloped Alais and then fell to her knees as her furry little companion disappeared and was replaced by the small child. In complete disbelief she reached her hands out to pick up the child. Unconsciously she ended up stroking the furry stripped tail as it wrapped around the child's small frame.
"Mama was right about you, my little bairn. Now what are we to do with you?"
Tamlin, Alais in arm, hurriedly returned to the cider house. Throwing open the doors she soon spotted Baptiste right where she had left him cleaning up the cider.
"Uh... Baptiste, umm... here" Tamlin couldn't quite phrase what had just happened so she simply held out the child to show him.

"What in the names of the seven hells?" asks Baptiste, startled. "Where the bloody hell did you get a child from, Tamlin? And why are you bringing her to me? I never even touched you!" Nevermind that said child appeared to be only mostly human.

"What are you implying! I never implied she was yours! Hell, she isn't even mine. Not in the fashion you are thinking at least. Anyway, she is near enough to 3 and I've been living with you long enough for you to know i've never been with child." Ugh, men, why can't they use their eyes Tamlin thought. "Take a good look at her. It's Alais."
She pulled up a seat next to him and stole a deep swig of whatever he had been drinking and waved over one of the servers for another mug.

"Oh. I suppose you're right. She is too old to be--wait, Alais? You mean the pes--er, pet that's been following you around the last few months? What in God's name happened to her?

"Yes, she is the same, and no, she is not a pet. I went to the cottage and had tea, and my fortune and Mama said she is a fortunette, and in order to change I had to..." Tamlin blushed embarrased, realizing the Baptiste was still sitting there after being coated in the cider she had dumped on him. She fidgeted a bit realizing she should apologize at some point "well, its not important what I did, but that she changed."

"Uh-huh," says Baptiste, arching an eyebrow. "So...now you've got a toddler. What do you propose to...do with her?" he asks. He's beginning to realize how all these ostensibly single women in the caravan have small children. Evidently they're all peculiarity magnets.

Alais was tired of being ignored. "I hungry" she insisted. Being held out as she was by Tamlin she reached forward towards Baptiste and latched onto a piece of his straw colored hair, emphasizing her presence and need.
Tamlin broke into peals of laughter, "Well, I guess I propose to feed her. Unless you want to. She seems more attached to you then before." Leaning closer she reached out to help extricate Alais' plump hand from Baptiste's hair. He smelled of apples. Suddenly she realized their proximity and quickly drew back. "sorry, umm, about earlier. I, well, I'll help you wash the cider out" she said to him in a slightly timid manner, hoping he wasn't too upset.

Baptiste nods once. "Well, I can't say this is the first time I've had my drink tossed in my face," he says. "Maybe you should take her...Alais...somewhere and feed her. Not sure if this place has a kitchen."

"no, no I suppose all men have to deal with us. No matter how charming they are" She winked at him her mood quickly returning to her cheerful equilibrium once he had forgiven her. "here, hold her while I go look for some food" hopefully it wont cost much Tamlin worried slightly about her nigh on empty wallet. perfunctorily depositing Alais into Baptiste's lap she went about searching for food.
Noticing two people who seemed to be locals if not workers in the cider house Tamlin strode over to where they were conversing. The man looked of the uncomfortably unsavory sort so she addressed the woman first. "Excuse me. I'm looking for a place where I might get a bite to eat. Perhaps you two have a suggestion." Tamlin asked hopefully.
Latching back on to Baptiste's hair Alais creased her eyebrows and stuck out her bottom lip. "Hungry!" she repeated insistently pulling with her child's strength on his hair. She was none to happy to have been left here with him but here she was.

With a mewl of surprise, Baptiste quickly puts his arms around Alais to keep her from falling. "Aye, I know you're hungry, you said it only a moment ago," he says, attempting to dislodge her from his hair. "Hey, hey, that hurts, you tiny imp!" he exclaims. He certainly hopes Tamlin gets back soon.
Ziva looks up at the pleasant-faced woman before her. "To eat? Hm...if you are looking for an eatery there's Untidy Joseph's, but if you want to purchase food to make yourself, the market is just off the main street. Go out to the square, go down the street between Penelope's workshop and the man in the rocking chair, and the market district will be straight ahead." She smiles. "Might I interest you in any botanicals before you go?" She glances at the straw-haired man with the child. "Perhaps some lemon oil. It will keep his eyes from wandering."
