Marie finished eating fairly quickly. Getting up, she disposed of her bowl in the dishwasher after rinsing it out. Leaning against the counter, she sighed, listening as another Lady Gaga song came on. She closed her eyes and listened to the lyrics.
'Baby loves to dance in the dark, Cuz when he's lookin' she falls apart. Baby loves to dance, loves to in the dark.
Run run her kiss is a vampire grin. The moon lights away while she's howlin' at him. She looks good but her boyfriend says she's a tramp, She's a tramp, She's a vamp, But she still does her dance. She's a tramp, She's a vamp, But she still kills the dance.
Baby loves to dance in the dark, 'Cuz when he's lookin' she falls apart. Baby loves to dance in the dark.'
She was beginning to wonder if he ipod was trying to tell her something, for even when she was trying to clear her mind, one face kept popping up, and wouldn't go away. Frustrated with herself, she went up to the ipod and skipped the song, to something she didn't really listen to often, and she turned it way down, so it was faintly in the background. She walked over to her window seat, leaned up against the wall, and covered up with the throw blanket. After a short while, her eyelids grew heavy, and she dozed off in a light sleep.

As he walked, he continued to sing, one song fading into another, and another. He soon realized he had wandered into Port Angeles, and to the building across the alley from Marie's. He mentally cursed, but then replayed the songs he had been singing. He had assumed they were random, whatever came to mind, but they deffinitely followed a scheme. He felt an unknown feeling wash over him, and he felt suddenly compelled to check up on her. With this, the rain slowed, then stopped, leaving a clear night. He leaped onto the building without a sound and sat on the roof of the building, half looking at the moon, half watching her sleeping figure. He began to sing again, ever so softly to himself. "Lie awake in bed at night, Think about your life, Do you want to be different? Try to let go of the truth, The battles of your youth, 'Cause this is just a game,
It's a beautiful lie, It's a perfect denial, Such a beautiful lie, To believe in, So beautiful, beautiful,
It's time to forget the past, Wash away what happened last...' His voice was clear, and it rang without wavering through the night air. Of course, no normal person would be able to hear him, as he sang only for himself.

Marie rolled over, facing the window. The slight change in light made her eyes squint slightly. Her eyes blinked open, barely, until she got used to the light, which wasn't long at all. She didn't think the moon would be out due to the rain, so she didn't bother to go to her room where the curtains would keep out the light. She closed her eyes to fall asleep again, when she was settled, she heard a soft song, figuring it was her ipod. That was before she realized that the radio was silent. Odd. Feeling it was the right thing to do, she opened the window, and finally realized a recently familiar scent. Marie froze. What should she expect? After all, the way things were left off, it wouldn't be best to expect the best. So, what she did do was leave the window open, and sit in the window seat, back against the window this time, waiting to see what was going to happen next.

At the moment he had finished his song, he heard the window open. He closed his eyes, calming himself completely, minus the obvious sorrow at what he had done, which against his wishes, he could not dissolve. He stood slowly, before jumping to the window, and sliding in silently. He proceeded to walk to the opposite side of the room, his head tilted down. He dare not speak, but he looked at her face from his distance, full to the brim with remorse.

Marie watched as he made his way through the window, and across the room. Examining his facial features, she was suprised at what she saw. "You're sorry?" She said, a question, trying to make it sound as if she wasn't assuming it. She stood up and walked halfway across the room. "Why?" She asked, confused, for it was clear on his face that he was, but it was something she didn't expect. .

Bradley averted his gaze, before looking back up and over to her. He nodded silently, and he really did mean it. "Because you were right." He admitted softly, his voice tinted with his accent. "I knew my physical heart had stopped beating, but I never was forced to realize my metaphorical one had stopped cold too." He said, averting his gaze again. He couldn't bare to look her in the eyes, as he was truly ashamed of what he had said before.

Marie tried to give him a soft smile as she looked up at him. "When you aren't around humans, acting as one of them, you tend to forget. It happens." She said, giving him a simple explanation. "But, I'm used to being treated as such. I need to stop getting my hopes up that more vampires I meet won't be like that. A fault on my own part." .

Bradley's jaw tightened as she spoke, as he knew she was right, but he absolutely wished she wasn't. When he looked up again, his eyes were defeated. "I don't want to be like that. I don't want to hate you." He admitted softly, defeat on his words.

Marie looked at him. "Well. That is something I haven't heard before." She said with a smile. "What made you want that?" She asked, voice still soft, taking a few steps closer. .

Bradley looked at her, examining her face while he looked for his answer. "It's been nine years meeting up with only people who would become my latest meal." He said finally, pausing to think again. "I don't want it to be that way anymore. I can't live like that anymore." He said finally, his words painfully honest.

Marie nodded, listening. She could only imagine. Sure, humans were frail, they aged and died. But still, being a part of that was nice. "Well.." she said, stifling a yawn. "It might help if we can get you into school..." she said, thinking. "If you'd like, of course...Either that, or a job with a few co-workers.." She offered, trying to help if she could. She walked up to him the rest of the way and took his hands in hers. "If you really want this, you can make it work..."

Bradley furrowed his eyebrows, thinking as she spoke. When she took his hands, his hands molded to fit hers perfectly. "Well, school sounds alright, as long as the neighborhood half n half would be around." He said with a soft smile, poking fun but not meaning anything by it. "I do want this, but... I can't do this alone." He said finally, looking down to her because of their height differences. He let her fill in the rest of that mentally.

Marie smiled sweetly. "Of course I would be. Can't have you running around eating everyone, you'd blow my cover." She teased back. She noticed how their hands fit, but decided not to get ahead of herself as she blushed slightly. "You won't have to." She added at the end, looking up at him. For some odd reason, she hated seeing him feel bad. It made her want to make it better, and that is what she was planning on doing.

Bradley grinned, his perfect smiling gleaming in the moonight. "Aww man! Ruining my fun already?" He teased back, his voice twisted slightly with his unprotected accent. He chuckled very, very lightly watching her blush, which was a beautiful reminder that she still was alive. There was something about her that made him want to stick around. He couldn't place exactly what it was, but he knew for a fact it was a change for the better.

Marie laughed lightly. "Hey, you're ruining my sleep time, so, I think its only fair." She said teasingly, dropping his hands and turning to the window. "Now, if you'd like to stay, you're more than welcome, as for me, I need to head to bed. I have classes in the morning, and we need to get you enrolled in the college too..." She said before a yawn, waiting for his decision before she closed the window.
